"How do you know a 100% raw vegan diet is healthy if you have never successfully accomplished such feat RP ?" It is like saying how do you know if a new car is better than a used car if you have not driven one. Cooking does not improve food nutrients. It may make more available but it is does not mean that these nutrients are well absorbed by the body. Some people because of di

I have said it many times in this forum. Food has a social and cultural dimension. When I visit family and friend, I cannot force them to bend to my rules. If I am healthy my body should tolerate a cooked meal here and there. I was raised in that environment so to me it is ok to partake under some conditions. It is not X or Y, it is X and Y. Here is a post that has a very critical view of

powerlifter I do value your opinions on this forum. You always bring a scientific perspective that is very valuable. My only problem with your comments from what I read is that you seem to believe that being mostly on a raw food is bad or being 100 percent raw cannot be healthy. To me it is wrong, people who want and can do it should be encouraged.

Yes 100 percent raw is not for me but I admire those who do it. B12 is from soil and I cannot eat that, not being in the wild. So I take b12-forte as supplement and occasionally drink a glass of raw goat milk. But the title of the thread was not on bashing the 100 percent raw.

Very good question. If your grades did not qualify you to get into Harvard you can always comfort yourself by believing that Harvard was not a good school anyway. They know raw is good but do not have the courage and discipline to be raw.

Nuts are not optimal food for most because they have anti nutrients. They too need to be sprouted and most do not do that.

Many SAD people die everyday but when raw vegan dies it is big news. He is healthy and should not have died, what went wrong, that is usually the question. But that is unfair The diet killed him is usually the answer. The reason why so many get into raw food is that they had incurable diseases, and rawfood may give them some mileage but not a long life.

They key in reversing aging is not the age itself, it has to do with health, body flexibility, mental abilities.

Not everyone can go to Harvard university. That does not make Harvard a failure. Eating burger is a success because it easy and so many people do it? It takes years of dedication to reverse years of malnutrition and it is only a select few who can do that. It is very hard to grow your own food but it is worth.

Interesting that only broccoli has this special property and no other sprout. There is a special scent and smell with this sprout. I prefer to blend it at low speed and keep the smoothie in the mouth for a long time. I should get into making great salad.

It looks like a lot of work for little gain. Sprout for days, dehydrate, and grind... Why not just eat the fresh sprouts.

But sprouted grains and beans remain still indigestible. The options left are to cook them or ferment them but cooking and fermentation have their limits. So the choice is between eating fruits and lettuces that are easily digestible but less nutritious and sprouted grains and beans with higher nutrients but put a burden on your digestive system.

Maybe there are some problems with digesting raw food that those gurus are not telling us. The sprouts and veggies eaters are taking digestive enzyme capsules. The fruit eaters are not. So in conclusion ...
