Hello, We bought one after watching John Kohler's review on YouTube. Like it very much! It's fast and durable. The pulp is a little wetter than a masticating juicer but the speed and ease to clean is excellent. Worth the investment in my opinion. vicki

Oh Prism! LOL!!! I TOTALLY needed to receive your message!! Today I am frustrated. At the beginning of the weekend my weight dropped a little more and today it is up a pound. I can't seem to just drop the weight; it keeps finding me again! I know that my currently sedentary lifestyle is not helping. Trying to finish up my MBA and taking a heavy load, so I am sitting all day at work and on th

I have lost another half pound. Wish the weight were releasing faster but I am working on being patient. Worked out 4 days last week. Making onion bread/crackers. Can't believe it takes 36 hours!!

Hi There, Hope all went well with your delivery and you and the baby are doing great. What part of Maryland are you in? I am in southern Maryland. Are you still following the raw food lifestyle? Take care, Vicki

Oh I forgot! I have lost 3 pounds. Yipee!!!!! Doesn't sound like much, but it's progress. Also working out so I am sure that is contributing to the loss. That's the thing, though, I have to be vigilant about my diet and my exercise. Otherwise, I will never achieve and maintain the level of health and fitness that I love. Was reading a blog on another site yesterday. At every entry she recited

You should definitely sprout seeds. So much cheaper than the store. It is not hard at all. In fact, it is gratifying because they sprout so quickly, and you think, "I grew that"! Dehydrating is a mixed bag. Some things turn out well, some don't. So many opinions as to the temperature levels, too! The hardest thing for me is how long it takes. Sounds like your choices are really c

Hi Everyone, I live in southern Maryland, about an hour south of Washington, DC. We have access to organic fruits and vegetables year round but it's expensive. The local markets run late spring to fall, with many farmers trucking in from southern states to offer goods sooner and later in the seasons. We do seem to have the climate for growing greens in spring and fall. Right now, bracing mysel

Prism, Thank you for the advice and the encouragement! I do tend to be one who stays cold year round due to air conditioning in summer and winter weather in Maryland. Often think of moving somewhere warmer but wonder if my body would simply adjust and be cold whenever the temperatures cool off. I am with you on herbal tea! Need to break out the dehydrator, too. Take care, Vicki

I noticed that the recommendation for this category is to only have one thread per person. Therefore, I will stick with this one. Today is my 7th day, mostly raw. Really doing well. I have had one cooked meal in the past week because we were far from home, it was late, and I was starving! I had a spinach quesadilla. I am pleased to report a 2-lb weight loss. Feeling very good about my decisio

Marsh, You may also really enjoy the natural flavor of SW. That's the one I use. I have plenty of sweet and good flavor from the fruit that I add (even though there are a lot of greens, too), so no sweetener is even necessary. Vicki

Powerlifer and Marsh, Thanks for the confirmation from you both. My husband drinks the Vega protein. He says it helps him recover quicker after a workout. I don't like it nearly as well as Sun Warrior, but vanilla chai sounds tempting! What exactly is food optimizer? The best deal I've found for ordering Sun Warrior has been LuckyVitamin.com. Also, I guess this is off-topic, but I just trie

Geo, Thanks for the candid perspective! I agree that I will have to be careful with fats/oils/nuts. Have only used a minimum of such this week. I like to use fresh squeezed lime on many veggies along with a little vinegar. Woke up this morning and lost 1 pound from my start 3 days ago. Yeah! Celebrating all victories!! Ok, so maybe I will not add to this thread and start a new one rega

I bought some of Trader Joe's chocolate hemp powder but it doesn't taste very good. On the other hand, I have been using Sun Warrior Raw Vegan Protein (may be the same as Marsh is using) in natural flavor and Sun Warrior Raw Activated Barley mixed with water, a little nut milk, fruit and greens. Tastes good and the barley slows the digestion so you feel satisfied for a long time. Has anyone el

It's Day Three, and I had to attend a team potluck. It was a challenge being surrounded by tons of homemade cooked food. However, I stuck to the salad that I brought, ate one Tostida chip with layered guacamole dip. Also had a little bit of fresh fruit. Have to say that it is 2:30, and I am still hungry. Think I will snoop in my lunchbox to make a quick veggie rollup.

Day Two went well. Green smoothie for breakfast. Mostly marinated veggies for lunch. Fruit. Had a portabello mushroom, saurkraut and more marinated vegetables for dinner. Ate a Pure chocolate raw vegan bar today. It was delicious! Light workout. Have to go to a team luncheon tomorrow. Making a salad to share.

Don't know if this would appeal to anyone, but I just purchased a 3# bag of organic sprouted adzuki/lentil/mung beans at Costco! That way they are ready to go. I am trying to figure out digestible ways to enjoy them though. I did put a handful on my salad, but if you have other ideas, please advise--3# is a lot of sprouted legumes! Regards, Vicki

Marsh, Sunflower milk! Never considered that one!! Will have to try that this weekend. Also read where someone made sunflower cheese. Is that fairly easy? Last night I did make almond milk but didn't strain out the particles--just added more water to thin it out. Nice! Not sure how much fat would be in there though. Thanks! Vicki

So I completed my first day, and it went well! I think the only non-raw food was a piece of Ezekiel bread. Was working at home today, so that made it a little easier. Back to the office tomorrow, so will prepare carefully. Working out tomorrow evening.

Paul, Thank you for this input. I checked the bag, and it has exactly the sprouted legumes you mentioned: mung beans, adzuki, and green lentils. However, I didn't find them palatable. Regarding the book you recommended, this is one I do not have! I have quite a few, but you indicated that this one has extra value, so I will order it. I did very well today. I'm excited! Vicki

Hi Tamukha! Thank you for the feedback. Sorry to hear the water chestnuts are cooked--I like to crunch on them. I did try a few of the beans on my marinated vegetables today, and they were not too appetizing. I may have to hand them over to my husband to make soup. Still, I was very impressed that Costco had such an item! Vicki

I guess store-bought nut milks are out of the question... Probably made from roasted nuts, huh?
