great advice here. don't expect perfection of yourself. you'll be surprised if you just keep plugging away how the cravings lose hold of you. be totally gentle with yourself if you do slip up, and congratulate yourself for all the healthy food that you DO eat. what we focus on increases. i really liked this perspective:

i promise i can't go open a computer store called "apple". and i promise you can't open a "lush" anything and sell body products. well, you can open it, but if they caught wind of it and/or perceived you as a threat, they could take you to court and make you change the name, EASY.

i'm a single working mom, VF, so i know what you mean about only having time late at night or very early in the morning. my workout times are generally 10pm or 5am. for the 60 day challenge i have committed to waking up at 5 each day to workout in the morning before doing anything else. that way i have a failsafe.. if i miss my morning workout (i shouldn't but in case i do...) i can workout that

i drink rooibos on occasion, i really like the flavor, and find it has a very balancing effect, unlike coffee, true "teas", and even yerba mate. i sun brew it. but i am pretty sure it is heated at high temps. can't tell. seems unlikely that it would be sundried, since commercial drying processes are so much quicker and less expensive.

yay javacado! claire and i will see you at the starting line on May 1st! okay, now that i have been accepted into the May challenge and am a registered member on the site, i can give you the insiders info. basically you first submit "before" photos of yourself (front/back/side), then you set your specific goals for the 60 day period and how you plan to accomplish them -- you pick you

you'll find, if you enter your intake into nutritiondata.com or fitday.com, that you are getting plenty of protein on the raw foods diet and probably do not need to supplement.

i like to pour salsa over a fruit salad of mango and avocado chunks! or just eat it out of a 1/2 avocado. i don't do the dehydrator thing either, but i make sweet potato "chips" just by thin slicing sweet potatoes. at first i was lightly salting them (ha!) but now i don't. surprisingly tasty!

hey lee, phantom, have you guys heard of jus de bissap? its a west african combo of mint, hibiscus flowers, and vanilla. FABULOUS! they have hibiscus flowers in the bulk spice section at my health food store. not sure if its a Hawaii thing or if its readily available elsewhere. tasty tho.

interesting bellefleur, i take ayurvedic herbs (although i keep the raw thing going, my practitioner works around it!) and the liver cleanse i did felt mild physically but put me on a serious emotional rollercoaster. i definitely felt like i got rid of a lot of anger. amazing!

i know you're committed to the mono days, GA, but i would definitely incorporate some iron-rich food into my day before i took an iron supplement. all my personal experiences with iron supplements have been bad. i think they tax your body A LOT. just my opinion, of course! wishing you TONS Of good luck with this!

it does make you feel so great when your kid is eating and enjoying raw food! my daughter and i have been cracking out on cantalope, strawberries, clementines, and mangoes lately. i'm happy that we CONNECT over healthy food, maybe how i felt connected with my mom when she would make homemade bread or cookies, etc. she asked me one morning this week what i was making her for school lunch, and

gosh i use mine all the time. i got the benriner cook's help and the best price i found was here: my 5 year old daughter loves zucchini and/or cucumber noodles tossed with lemon juice, dill, olive oil, and pine nuts... and so do i! i also make cucumber noodle saimin (noodle soup), use it to make shreds of carrots, daikon, jicama, beets, green papaya for salads or nori rolls, the list goes on.

WHAT?!?!?! after all that huffing and puffing, the big "i challenge you to find a me a healthy fruitarian", the YouTube stuff... if this were truly an unfortunate mishap, dr. c should be falling all over himself apologizing (in person, not through rich) and offering to come to your house to retest you at your convenience. honestly, that is so lame. can you say NO CREDIBILITY?

Big time EZ. I think just what you are doing, bringing awareness to the situation ("oh, i notice my stomach feels tight, i am feeling a bit stressed, and i notice i am wanting to eat something i really would rather not. Interesting." is the key. figuring out what your emotional triggers are (some big ones for me are trying to get somewhere in a hurry in my car -- i'm always running late,

To purchase a house/land in N. Cal is extremely expensive. Renting there is surprisingly not so terrible, I've heard. In my experience, you find where you want to live in the world and you just make it work because you have no choice. It's where you're supposed to be. And the way just clears itself for you, things fall in to place for you, opportunities crop up, surprises happen. It makes no s

cost of FOOD in N. CA will not be the issue... (housing housing housing...) my brother lived in sebastapol (beautiful rural area outside santa rosa) for many years -- i remember the awesome farmer's markets there, incredible produce, tons of organics... just gorgeous (the place, AND the food).

i think the field of human nutrition is in its infancy, and we actually know precious little about the things that we think we know everything about. sure, we know about vitamins and minerals, but the importance of all the cofactors (pre-cursers, enzymes, co-enzymes, trace-element activators, amino-acids, co-vitamins, co-minerals, essential fatty-acids and numerous other naturally occurring syner
