I have anxiety that can be debilitating sometimes. I just found a great therapist and am working (again!) through my issues surrounding abuse (which was pretty severe) It seems like a lifetime process and is sometimes daunting and painful, but also helpful. Maybe he can find a therapist who is willing to meet outside. Rescue Remedy is my band-aid for panic attacks. I have to be very mindful of wh

In my experience, fruits mixed with greens in a smoothie is great, giving you a lot of nutrition and energy. They are compatible as far as digestion goes. You don't want to mix fruit with fats, proteins or grains (although I throw some ground flax in my smoothies as well). Veggies can be mixed with fats, proteins or grains, but you do not want to mix fats, proteins or grains with each other eithe

I sprout mung, adzuki and lentils (mixed) in a half gallon jar with a screen on my kitchen counter. Soak 1/4 cup overnight, drain, rinse three times a day, and in about three days I throw them in most of my food or just snack on them like popcorn.

I am Sundancer because I love the sun, and I love to dance. I am from California and live in New England where the sun visits once in a while lately, and lemme tell you I miss it!!! I'm one of those people who always has a tan (even here) because I am outside a lot, playing in my yard or going for a walk. I also love to go to festivals and dance all day. If I go to a wedding and no one is dancin

That's hard. I empathize -- my daughter attempted, and almost succeeded, almost ten years ago. I'm glad your friend has friends like you. You and she are in my prayers.

For me, the combination of balanced meals with enough of all major nutrients (and lots of greens), exercise, herbs (black cohosh, evening primrose oil and natural progesterone cream (I am turning 48 soon), and a little cacao and maca in my smoothies helps with the moods and other symptoms, which for me tend to be severe these days. I also drink a little wine if I am really out of sorts. I know th

I just found an interesting article from Gabriel Cousens on B12. Hellokitty, I know that you asked about Vit. D, but B12 is also an important vitamin that we need to be aware of. Coco, thanks for causing me to look this up.

I imagine that if a doctor is recommending such a drastic diet, the man was in pretty bad shape to begin with.

I weigh at the Y once every other week or so. I know I have a little weight to lose, and as long as I am continually improving my eating and exercise habits, I'm not going to worry about what I weigh. My honey is happy with the size of my body, but I feel better when I weigh somewhat less than I do now. My weight fluctuates a little, and I'd like to lose a little before my 30 year (yikes!!) high

I eat seaweed regularly (for B12) and get in the sun as much as possible (for D). I'm really bad at remembering vitamins, so this is my main way to get these nutrients. Last winter I struggled and am sure I was low in Vit. D, being in New England, but when I spent a week in the sun visiting my son in San Diego, I came home feeling all better. I'm in the sun whenever it is out and never use sunscr

Thanks, Kwan. As an organic farmer, I'm not worried about the market, because we pretty much sell everything we grow without doing any marketing, and as we grow, if we need to, we can start actively marketing our food. As people get mere and more sick and come to realize that what they consume directly affects their health, our market will benefit. I am, however, concerned about the laws that are

RR-- If you're eating Doritoes and soda, I wouldn't worry about a little avocado, especially if you have to work and not rest. You could probably use the energy that the avo gives you. Or not -- if you feel like you don't want or need it, don't eat it.

I've made a warm ginger cayenne lemon drink (with optional agave), followed with a soup consisting of miso, avocado, garlic, hot pepper, spirulina, and optional sprouts and veggies (like carrots and green onions), and it kicked it in the butt within an hour. Make' em strong, and good luck!!

I'm with Suncloud on this one. There are many ways to get organic food at a reasonable price: joining a co-op and doing member worker hours often allows great discounts. Getting a part time job at one and taking advantage of the culled items. Definitely frequenting farmers' markets. Working on a farm. Farming or growing a garden. It's amazing how much you can grow even in a couple of whiskey barr
