Lillianswan, I've also noticed that wild strawberries have a sweeter and more intense taste than farm grown strawberries. geneticpromise, As for people getting sick and going to hippocrates, they didn't get sick from eating fruit. And anyone who goes to hippocrates didn't start life eating fruit and getting sick. People get sick from their lifestyles of unnatural foods. Most people who

How about banana ice cream? Freeze a bunch of ripe bananas, and process in a champion juicer with the blank plate. Yum! For variety, add some frozen berries into the mix.

People who get "HIGH" from eating fruit are sick. It may be that a huge percentage of the SAD eating population has this sickness. In a healthy body, fruit doesn't make a person high, its just food. Hippocrates is catering to the SAD crowd. And most of the folk that come to hippocrates are really sick before they arrive. They often have diabetes, cancer, or some other incurable chron

My health food store sells Soken Sea Vegetable Salad, which is a half ounce serving of a seaweed salad @ $4.45. It has wakame, kuki wakame, akamodoki, akanori, and agar-agar. Here is a link to a picture of the package (its the very last picture). When you soak the dehydrated seaweed in water, it expands to a full size salad. I sometimes buy bulk wakame, sea palm, kombu, dulse, hijiki, arame, a

You certainly should play with this to see which works better for you. When I eat high fat, I have low energy, and I don't want to go outside and get exercise or do physical activity. Physical activity builds mucles, and mucles burn calories, even during rest.

Why should you take those oils? Its easy for flax oil to go rancid, and if these are refined oils, there's no way for you to tell that they are bad. There is enough essential fatty acids in fruits and leafy greens, so why bother? There are also plenty of minerals in leafy greens and vegetables, and plenty of vitamins in fresh fruit.

Mike, You implied in your message that you are on a raw vegan diet? If this is the case, why are you reading Mercola, who is a blantant anti-vegan and anti-raw vegan. The basis of his dietary advice is that animal products are absolutely necessary for good health. Is this your belief also?

Michele, It sounds like the probiotic you used upset the balance of your digestive process. What kind of probiotic were you using? Was it a powered or capsule form, or was it a fermented product like rejuvelac? The tartness in fermented products comes from acetic acid, that according to the hygienists causes digestion or absorption to be halted. The body doesn't really like acetic acid (even t

There are some people who are in such a low state of health that they are unable to eat fruit - they exhibit diabetes like symptoms when eating fruit. These people didn't get sick from eating fruit, it was all the high fat cooked foods that got them into their state of ill health. Brian Clements doesn't recommend eating fruit. He also doesn't recommend eating 100% raw either. However, there

When it comes to eating a 100% raw diet, there are really only 2 places to get a significant amount of calories - either from fruit or from fat. The only long term 100% raw folk, people who have been doing 100% raw for over 20 years are all in the high fruit camp. It is possible to have excellent health in the short term with a high fat raw diet. The length of time can be extended with stimul

You are probably eating too much fat and not enough carbohydrates to maintain your athletic performance. There is a forum for raw food athletes at . At that forum, they have a FAQ for athlete's who are trying to make the raw diet work for them and their sport. The replacement foods that take the place of the pastas for energy is sweet fruit, like bananas. You might want to take a look at eating

You may be drained because your body is detoxing, or because you are not eating enough calories of carbohydrates. What does you daily menu look like? Please include the amounts of each food that you eat in a given day.

I disagree with the other posters. The reason you eat too much is because on the days that you eat fats/veggies for lunch AND dinner, you didn't eat enough fruit that day. Thus once you start eating the fatty meal, you keep eating until you get stuff, and still you are not satisfied. Try eating more fruit throughout the day. Eat fruit for breakfast, lunch, and a snack before dinner. Then eat t

sunshine79, I put the daily menu on the day with 5 pounds of tangerines into fitday, and is was under 1675 calories for the entire day (90% carb, 6% fat, 4% protein). I weigh 140 pounds, so this isn't too many calories for a particular day. This means I eat about 12 calories per pound of my weight (1675 calories divided by 140 pounds). How many calories per pound do you consume? When I was

Marcos, I did not intend to offend or to belittle or to insult you with my post that you called "presumptuous". What I was saying is that you and Gosia experience difference realities with regards to how you experience health in your respective bodies. I agree with you, and your knowledge, that in your body, with your lifestyle, and your diet, that colonics give you superior healt

Yesterday I ate my first meal at 4pm. I normally don't eat this late, but the events of the day led to that. 4pm: 8 pound sugar baby watermelon 7pm: 2 pounds of apricots After waiting 15 minutes, 2 pounds of nectarines After waiting 30 minutes, green smoothie with 4 bananas, half cup blueberries, 4 ribs celery (the nectarines weren't that sweet, and barely ripe. Gosia, The reason you are Marcos not connecting in your communications is because the two of you are experiencing a different reality with regards to how the raw diet works for you and Marcos, and the difference of the way you both feel with just diet alone (ie no colonics), and the differences of your beliefs systems. For Gosia, she feels good without the colonics. For Marcos, if he do

I agree that water fasting is the best cleanse. The Master Cleanse uses maple syrup, which is NOT raw, but boiled to death. Even if it were raw, there is no fiber, so that sugar is going straight to your blood. Based on your symptoms, your body is probably has some sugar issues, so the maple syrup is going to make things worse.

Take a look at putting in your daily menu into fitday to see 1) how much fat, and 2) did you get enough calories? For what you wrote about, it was low fat. But were there enough calories for you? It looks like what you ate may have only been about 800 calories or so, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were hungry after that. A good rule of thumb in terms of how much calories is 100 calories times

2484. Re: Fats
Remember folk, when trying to get the omega-3 fatty acids in balance, there are 2 ways to do it. Most people talk about taking a supplemental omega-3 rich oil, like flax or fish oil. There is another obvious way, which is to cut back on the omega-6 rich foods. Remember, what is important is balance. Rather than adding more fats to an already fat rich diet, a better way to to remove the excess fat

RawGuy2000, Another thing. After the symptoms of the fungal infection go away, you ought to be able to introduce fats again into the diet. Eating a low fat diet does not happen overnight for some people, because there are many reasons that fats are satisfying to people, including psychological and emotional reasons. If you find that you are unable to stay at eating low fat because it doesn't f

Hi RawGuy2000, First, I share with you some assumptions I have about your health. I am assuming that so far you haven't done any permanent damage to your adrenal glands and your pancreas from your previous lifestyle. If the fungus is relatively new, and you haven't been noticing sugar related problems for some time before the fungus began, this should be the case. If you do have some damage to

veganman, 1) When fats are eaten, they slow down the secretion of digestive juices in the stomach. Two of these juices, pepsin and hydrochloric acid, are necessary for protein digestion, This means that when fats and proteins are eaten together, that the protein foods might sit around in the stomach an extra 2 hours in the presence of fat because of the lack of pepsin and hydrochloric acid.

I think you would be best served by eating totally fat free for a few days, getting most of your calories from fresh fruit and salads. For the length of your "cleanse", don't eat any forms of concentrated fats - oils, nuts, seeds, nut butters, avocados, mature coconuts, etc. Start the first few days eating the less sweet fruit - citrus, berries, stone fruit, and after a few days try

Edema is a detoxification system, the inflammation of the wrists and ankles typically. Doing a water fasting while resting in bed is the quickest way to get rid of the symptoms. It is not necessary to reduce the swelling (were you thinking of ice or steroids?), but laying in bed with your limbs elevated might offer some comfort.

RawGuy2000, Your lifestyle has put your body out of balance, and being out of balance the body is susceptible to disease - in your case a fungus is growing on your skin and it won't wash off. Keeping the problem area dry and well ventilated is important. If you have a place you can sunbathe nude, that would help. Fungus loves to grow in dark and moist places. The lifestyle habit you men
