Yes, that's so cool to hear medical advice like that! Bunch of smarties over there, though they probably think Westerners have some superior drug for it. Jodi, you're awesome and you're going to feel even better than before....I can't wait to be where you are physiologically, and I'm full of admiration - for you and for nature...wooo-hooo!

I used to be 'all or nothing' but it was part of my irrational thinking and eating disorder, I think.

This thread is convincing me to start home colonics. I did several colonics with a practitioner many years ago, but I didn't notice much difference - though they might have been very helpful and I wasn't aware of it. I was drinking wheatgrass juice and nearly all raw at the time so must have been eliminating lots of junk, but not much showed in the tube. Good to hear about other people's ex

How do you appease the computer god? I sneer at my computer when I'm mad at it.So far it has ignored my insults, but Macs are easier-going than pcs.

Good for you coco- it's so much healthier to walk and take the bus, most of the time. When my car is in the shop, I'm much calmer and more contented, and don't go out as much and feel better walking the 3 miles or so round trip to Capers for groceries. I always loved walking and hiking, all my life, but have to be forced into it now, since 'time' seems to rule everything these days. I love that n

Sounds like you're really dumping a lot of old stuff with the weirdness you've been having - hard to remember it's for my own good when it happens to me! Somehow I usually feel my body is betraying me. Are you doing lots of greens or fruits like you were when you had that other weirdness?

Thanks, Lightform, that's so interesting and inspiring to see. I love love love outdoor sports but cannot imagine doing his feats - it's great to see people attaching their abilities to truly good causes.

Yeah I think it's emotional - cooked food still holds some appeal when I'm tense because I used to use it to soothe my anxiety. But I rarely get the effect I used to get from it. I seldom used to eat anything for the flavour - I used food to drug myself and knew it for years - uppers and downers, as my schedule demanded. Now if I eat anything at all that isn't very simple raw vegan - seawe

Prism, why is iodine so helpful for detox.....I have never heard that before, but I just read your post in the thyroid thread as well. So interesting,, and actually being iodine deficient doesn't make sense to me, but maybe that's because it doesn't get talked about. I do understand that salt with added iodine is vastly different to getting it from diet, soil etc.

I would add raw greens, especially parsley. Maybe you're low on iron or maybe you're sensitive to your current diet or maybe you have low blood sugar. If you can make smoothies with greens, you'll get lots of nutrition that way, especially if you drink them slowly and on an empty stomach, so they're not competing with other food.

I just deleted a long post to you. ARgh. It sounds great to offer both raw and regular foods - will expose lots of people to raw and maybe launch them on their own raw journey.

RE alice miller - she's written several books but don't read 'Drama of the Gifted Child" because she wrote it before she got into her worthwhile, helpful mode -she says herself that it was Freudian and not helpful. ) She doesn't write self-help books, which is great, because they are a dime a dozen and just someone else's idea of healing. She writes for EVERYONE - that's why it's

Yes I think about this every day. It's confusing to me because each doubt about our culture leads to an infinite number of other doubts. It's no wonder people look for empty diversions because we would be sooo lost without them, in our present system. Many people would feel such emptiness if they didn't constantly fill their minds with movies, shopping, etc. Part of me wants to live completely

That's what I used to think, but maybe you're heading straight to fruitarianism. You could try raw tahini (sesame paste) - it should be a lot cheaper than almond butter (I pay less than half) and it's got lots of nutrients. It's not very tasty, but it's not bad if you eat it with something else.

SER is supposed to have somewhat different results than basic and that's been the experience of the people I know who have had both done. I was wondering if the other cranial thing was similar to SER or to basic CST, but I wasn't clear in my previous post. I'm thinking perhaps similar to CST. Have you ever had an SER session, to compare? Yoga-chi - I think your diary has gone off topic

I think it's easiest to just start adding in the good stuff and don't worry about the "bad" stuff so much. Just eat greens and fruit as much as possible and reasonable to you, and try to increase it as time goes on. For me, this crowds out the other foods without feelings of deprivation.........I gradually desire more fresh raw food naturally. I'm not a fan of forced things - that's

Yoga chi - if you want to get to the root of the matter, I would try Cranio-Sacral therapy. I think it's a parallel of raw diet, in that your own inner wisdom brings up problems you're holding and they are dealt with in CST sessions to the extent you allow them to be. In other words, the unconscious and subconscious problems come to the surface and are released. Sleepwalking etc are just symptoms

I know someone who got a german shep. cross as a pup. He only fed her very cheap raw chicken cuts - don't remember what, but it was the cheapest stuff from a local butcher in Chinatown. He was never a softie on dogs, so she lived outside in all but the very coldest weather. He's extremely cheap with his own food, to the extent that he eats things I would never dream of eating - old food, etc. - j

I have no idea, but I think you're right to limit her sugar intake. My dog will eat fallen fruit and beg for my fruit, but I think it exacerbated her anal gland problem, so I don't give her any now. I do give her some green smoothie and non-sweet fruits and pieces of yam, all of which she begs for. She's all-raw and is very healthy, though I know she has a few little things I would improve if I c

You know where I think I read about bathing order was in a Laura Ingalls book.... but I'm not sure. Probably LHITBigWoods. Does anyone else remember that book......maybe her family was nicer and more considerate than average.....I thought they had to keep adding hot water after each bather, thereby adding volume to the bath. If I didn't read that, my memory has become very sketchy.

The Elf and the Dormouse by Oliver Herford   UNDER a toadstool crept a wee Elf,   Out of the rain to shelter himself.      Under the toadstool, sound asleep,   Sat a big Dormouse all in a heap.      Trembled the wee Elf, frightened and yet          Fearing to fly away lest he get wet.      To the next shelter—maybe a mile!   Sudden the wee Elf smiled a wee smi

It would help to have a common definition of 'art'. Some say it's self-expression, some say it's skill, or inspiration, or the ability to please the senses, or a combination of these and more. Some feel handicrafts are art, cooking is an art, or anything requiring a strong measure of personal feeling, is an art. Or you can narrow the definition to fine art. I knew a few artists when I was
