Oh my gosh. Your letter to them was so low-key and not aggressive AT ALL. I wish I could figure out which company you're talking about but I don't really buy from any so am not familiar with their sites.

None of us are qualified to answer why or why not anyone else does anything. Not all raw foodists use teflex sheets. I sure as heck don't. I don't like dehydrated food anyway. I need to drink so much water afterwards that I feel like a camel.

I think they're pretty, and like to think that after they were exhibited, lots of happy munching went on as everyone feasted on watermelons.

For those who miss the fizziness of soda, what about sparkling mineral water? Not club or seltzer, but actual water that's naturally sparkling? Does anyone drink it?

"It cured all types of ailments - when it is done right" This is so true. I cured my daily gall bladder attacks (right before the surgery to have my gb removed) by drinking pineapple juice! It was so fantastic. I read about it here, and it worked immediately - from the first chugalug of juice I never had another attack. Just last month I discovered another miracle of raw foods. M

Have you thought of a short juice fast? Whenever I don't feel like eating anything, or the thought of YAS (yet another salad makes me want to hurl, a few days of delicious juicing always puts me right again. My personal favorite is the fab 4 - carrots, apples, ginger and kale. SOOOOO good. I could drink it for days...

Hi Weronika, Personally, I don't worry about it. I eat what I want when I want, and don't think about too much of this or not enough of that. For me, overthinking everything takes all of the joy out of eating this way. "And besides like many people say here, I try to listen to what the body wants." That's what I do too, and I love it!

I second this request! Pretty please? And also - a caveat not to try the mushroom soup in Juliano's Raw cookbook. It's just horrible, in my very humble opinion.

" (I also grated my hand for... extra protein...?) " Heehee. I haven't been here very long but have already singled you out as the person who makes me giggle the most. Enjoy that extra protein! The salad sounds amaaaazzing. All of my favorite things. Why have I never thought to use raw tahini as part of a salad dressing?? Duh. I will remedy that in about an hour when I have my lun

I just keep mine in a plastic baggie on the counter. They stay nice and fresh as long as they don't get exposed to humidity. Isn't marinara sauce awesome? Blueberry cheesecake?! Do you have the recipe? *pants*

nnaydolem, it's really easy to make raw sushi! I get raw nori and raw soy sauce and go to town with thinly sliced veggies. Avocado makes a very good substitute for the rice, to hold everything together. Add some super thin slices of ginger on top and you're all set. You could probably also easily make raw wasabi, but I've never looked into it. Also, don't hesitate to ask the people at the sush

Hi nnaydolem...welcome! Look upthread where I linked to the video on how to sprout them. It seems pretty easy to understand. Although I have to be honest and say that maybe I'll just soak mine for a day, and use them that way, without sprouting them. I don't know if I can wait that long!

I was raw for about 8 months a couple of years ago, and in just that 8 months I seemed to look about 10 years younger. I'm in my 50s and everyone thinks I'm about 38-40 years old. I figure at this rate I'm going to get carded in about 10 months....

I just found this youtube video that shows how to sprout your own, in case there's anyone else out there like me who has no idea how to do it. Very informative. The links on the right have good hummus and wrap recipes. Now I have to find a cheap sprouter!

Thanks for all the replies! It seems that sprouted chickpeas are the way to go. I'm going to go buy a bag today...so excited! I've really been craving hummus, maybe with some sun dried tomatoes thrown in for good measure....yum.

Does anyone have a good alternative to zucchini hummus? I just don't like it, for some reason. I use zucchini, lemon, garlic, tahini. It's always got an "off" taste. But I'd love to have a nice, smooth, thick hummus to dip into. Anyone use anything other than zucchini? Or should I try sprouting chick peas maybe? I've never tried sprouting before. I just want some hummus!!

What is green lemonade? Never heard of it. I would cut out all the stuff on your bottom line - chocolate bars and raw bread. No way that stuff is good for someone who wants to lose weight. I would try sticking to whole foods. Just as a point of comparison, some days I have eaten 3 or 4 avocadoes and have still lost weight. As a matter of fact, days I eat more fat and fruit, those are the times
