Hi Aurora... what do you eat in a typical day? Could be detox; you haven't been raw for that long. The first year I went raw I went through 3 or so detoxes in the form of mainly really weird rashes... I have been 90% raw for 2 years and last time I got majorly sick with cold and sore throat was last fall... lasted for about 4 weeks... been great since. So, sick can still happen. It takes 7 y

Ummm Suvine...As pretty as you try to look, you seem like a really negative person. Maybe you should go back to wishing and feeling.. you talk like a robot. Thoughts and feelings are some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience. Your mom said she feels god but you are saying God doesn't exist? What does this have to do with coconut oil? You are trying so hard to come across as inte

I used to break out majorly but since I've been about 90% raw these past two years and my skin has never been clearer... here are some of my tips: - lots of green smoothies - cut down on fats like nuts/oils - never ever eat wheat or dairy - don't put anything on your skin for now; that will clog up your pores - keep your hair tied back - hopefully it is just a detox... although I never b

Depends on what kind of cooked food you are eating... I myself wouldn't touch cooked rice or any grain... when I eat cooked food it is lightly steamed veggies or a baked pototo. I have never had a reaction from eating these.

You could be detoxing, even after two years. From what I have read the body takes approximately 7 years to fully detox. So you have a ways to go. Being raw also, is not the cure all people think it is... you are still going to get sick.... but imagine how much sicker you would get if you were not on this healthy path.

Yes, there is a huge difference between raw honey and already pasturized honey. When making tea, let the water cool a bit then add your raw honey. I believe most of the enzymes would still be in tact.

I think bee pollen contains B-12. I believe that is why a lot of raw foodists would consume it... also suppose to give energy to boot. There was an interesting thread on another raw foodist board: some people were okay with bee products as long as bee farmers that treat the bee's humanely.

Just because this is a vegan forum doesn't mean there is no interest in articles like the above. And not being able to talk about it is not going to make these issues go away is it? Perhaps some of us know of people that indulge in raw dairy and would like to pass the information on to them... I think its crazy to not be able to post about these imporant issues in fear of getting our heads bit

I don't indulge very often myself. But I do have a glass of wine every now and then... I am not going to stress about it... IMO, breathing in our polluted air is more of a health risk. I don't see a problem with enjoying a glass or two of vino on occassion.. but definately not health promoting to have more than that!

Hey Uptowngirl (ooh, Billy Joel is running through my head now!) I'm not 100% raw everyday anymore... but, when I do eat cooked I have some rules I follow... no wheat nothing refined nothing from a box I find I feel better eating some lightly steamed veggies for dinner rather than pigging out on raw nuts or fatty raw foods, which make me feel groggy and bloated. So that is what work

A lot of rawbies overindulge in 'fatty' type foods. I have the same problem with nuts, I love them, will eat too many and then pay with bloating. So I try to buy only a handful at one time from the bulk section. This helps me iwth my overeating. Also, too as someone suggested, you might not be eating enough sweet fruits, like melons and mangos. Try pigging out on sweet fruits and see it that h

I loved E3Live when I took it for about 6 months or so... gives you lots of energy, feels good, but too much$$$ for me. I started growing my own wheatgrass, bought a cheap $50 wheatgrass juicer, as it is much more affordable. I wouldn't do frozen wheatgrass as a lot of the nutrients are lost when frozen. Why not grow your own? Its so easy and so cheap todo yourself.

When I first looked at the photo, I thought it was a raw version of some gourmet fruit dish.. ya know with the nut sauce that looks like cream. So I work at a major Canadian bank parttime doing graphic design... I also work part time teaching martial arts at kids schools on their lunch hours. Love what I do!!!

With all due respect to raw vegans, let's be realistic... that some people just do not thrive being 100% raw vegan. And just because people are not 'allowed' to talk about it on this board does not make that fact go away. I think it is amazing that people can be 100% raw for any amount of time! I can go a few months at a time being 100%...but then I just have to have something cooked, and when I

An all raw world would be great but consider this: there are many raw foodists out there that still eat raw fish, eggs, meat and dairy and consider themselves 100% raw and thriving healthwise... not saying that it is right but they are out there and there are lots of them, and they swear healthwise they have never felt better (you'll find a ton of them on the Sunfood forum). I think an all raw

Tofu is not a healthy protien or food and should not be eaten on a regular basis. All the protien your body needs is found in leafy greens, nuts and seeds. Protein is way overrated. Actually, if you ate one potato, that would more than enough protein for the day. Cheers.

I'm 46 people think I am 35, and I'm not even 100% raw anymore (eat steamed veggies/air popped popcorn on occasion) but the most important thing is avoid wheat, dairy, alcohol, ciggies.

Dafodil... I am so sorry that you are going through a rough time!!! Ahh yes, the holidays and all the temptations that are out there. It is hard to say no and I don't know how I have managed myself these past couple of years. Why not start to get back on track by just eating raw morning, afternoon and then have some steamed veggies or baked potato for dinner. When I'm having a hard time of

I live in the north too, up here in Canada but I wouldn't use a tanning bed ever... done a bunch of googling just to confirm my thoughts on the harmful effects of using a tanning bed... A study conducted in Sweden helps to prove that tanning beds are a major factor in the development of malignant melanoma. The data concluded that the people who used tanning beds more than 10 times a year were

Speaking of cranberries...I have an excellent cranberry recipe, perfect for the holidays... even the SAD eaters loved it: Raw Holiday Cranberry Sauce * 2 cups fresh Cranberries (ground with an S blade in a food processor) 1 organic Orange (wash well - then finely grate skin and chop flesh very fine) 2 ripe Pears (peeled and chopped fine) 1 sweet Apple (peeled and chopped fine) ½ cup W

Great article... thanks! I have never, ever had a microwave in my life, even when I wasn't raw or vegetarian the thought never crossed my mind... and people think I am so weird because I don't. But even before I was on my various health kicks over the years, I knew that there was something so very very wrong with zapping your foods.
