Hello! It's great to be on this forum.. Im interested in learning about health according to the life-food paradigm. When I say "health", this includes anatomy, physiology, diet, chemistry, lifestyle, biology, spirituality... Are there any schools are trainings that offer this? I know Gabriel Cousens offers something, as does Dr. David Jubb... anything else? Could you suggest any good

Hey everyone! I saw David Wolfe in Long island last week, and he was saying how most grass is the same, including the kind that grows in your yard. Does anyone know if this is true? also, I saw from an AMAZING website (http://www.blindguru.com/) that you can blend wheatgrass and then strain it through a cloth!

Hi everyone! I find this site VERY informative and inspiring. Thank you to everyone who has contributed energy in one way or another to this forum. I have been raw on and off for around 2 yrs now, the longest raw stretch being about 8 months. But when I was raw, I ate a VERY unbalanced diet. I would have at least a pint of dates each day, along with 2-6 bananas, not much water, not many gre

My father has RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy), aka CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). If anyone has heard of any connection between raw foods/diet in general and RSD, please let me know. Thanks! Heres a little info from the National Institute of Neuroligcal Disorders: What is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome? Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition. The k

Hey la_veronique... hows it going? When you say, "esisser u look very "religious" in your yoga pose super nifty" what do u mean that I look religious? Was that meant tongue-in-cheek? I know sometimes over the net its hard to hear "tone" of voice, but i am not asking you these questions in an attacking way at all... only with love and inspiration :-)

I feel this is a great question! I think there are in a way two separate issues (although they DO often overlap): 1) Should a person be "100%" raw if they are teaching others about the raw food diet. 2) Should someone be raw if they are making money by selling raw products. With regards to 1) I feel a person should be sincere before they start teaching others. This doesnt m

I will be living in a north face mountain 25 four-season tent. Im still looking for a permanent place to keep the tent so that I can keep it on a wood platform... but as of right right I dont have I place to keep it. I wont have electricity. But if I keep the tent in back of a friend's house I might be able to run a long electric cord to my tent :-)

I've thought about that... but what am I gonna do, eat dried dandelion? Do you think I would need to rehydrate it first? Plus, can I just let it dry on its on after I pick it, or would it be best to dehydrate it in a dehydrator? Thanks for the tip :-)

Hey everyone. For many reasons, I'm moving into a tent for a while. I live in the Hudson Valley, NY. I was wondering, is it possible to store dandelion over the winter? Either by digging a really deep hole and storing them, or by keeping them in a friend's house? Or will they basically just wilt away after a week of being picked? Thanks allot everyone. Keeping up the inspiration! :-)

"Relocating may be the best answer to that dilemma, if it's possible." I've often though about relocating, but for several reasons I cant right now, one of them being college. "But if you don't feel it's possible, there are lots of worse things you could be doing than eating bananas! Taking care of your body unit as a unique part of the whole is important too." Y

I live in New Paltz, NY. Does anyone have any suggestions for maintaining a raw diet into the fall/winter? I was wondering, is it safe/nutritious to eat potatoes, squash, pumpkin raw? I'm learning more and more about eating local, and although I love eating mostly fruit and I feel better when I eat all fruit, I feel terrible when I think about what damage is being done to the planet just so

3 months? Thats AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats :-) Now u know that 3 months IS possible. And if 3 months is possible, then why not more? I guess this is for YOU to examine. Why do we eat eat certain foods after all? Is it just biological needs? Of course not. I've found what helped me was understanding what emotions, thoughts, habits, stressors, were related to my food choices. You will

When the body is very toxic, the body needs to balance that toxicity by holding extra water in the cells. When you start to rid the body of it's toxins, the body doesn't need that toxic-countering-water anymore. So in a sense, you are losing not only toxins from the body, but also "water weight." But After the body is done detoxing (which takes different amounts of time for different

Here's the beginning of an ongoing collection of Yoga Asana (posture) pictures. These photos aren't about me, but about the potential and beauty we all have inside. Simply by eating raw foods, you too can do these postures! (OK, maybe it takes a little practice, :-)). I dedicate these pictures to F1 (Fruititarian One), who has been an inspiration to us all! Lara Bars are like the raw foodists junkfood, lol... I agree, if they weren't so expensive I would probably eat more, although I'm trying to eat less bars and more fresh food.... I love 'em, but recently a friend informed me that they are not organic, which kind of surprised me and took some of the joy out of eating them. Their labeling, with all of the catchy words like "1 SERVING OF FRUIT

I love tomatoes and other fruit. Is there any way to preserve them, if not for the whole winter, at least for a little while longer than their natural shelf life would allow for? I dont know much about jarring, but im pretty sure that its not very "raw." Any suggestions? Thanks :-) -Ethan

A doctor walked into the hospital and saw all of the sick patients. Someone came up to the doctor and said, "Whats wrong with you? You're so uptight with all of your fancy wardrobes and oh, how you spend so much time washing your hands three times before you perform an operation! Plus, you're always preaching 'diet, exercise, love, blah, bah, blah!'" The doctor paused for a moment

Bryan, after dramatically increasing the amount of sleep in your lifestyle (especially in the beginning), and then reducing that amount, how many hours of sleep did you reduce the sleep to? Because ideally, shouldn't we be able to sleep less than the average person, because of our raw food diet and combination of other healthy lifestyle choices? I'm referring specifically to the typical comment
