It is very ok to eat the seeds; throw the rind into your smoothie as well for the most nutrition.

Raw honey is full of pathogenic microrganisms; it is not the best "for anyone's health." To do the best "for your health" is not to bother with a "sweetener" in the first place. Fresh or dried fruits are really enough for a recipe; beyond that, I know I personally don't bother with sweetening things in my daily life; I eat whole foods.

Oh, thank you Veronique! It's really great to know someone appreciates the world through my eyes. You don't need to understand chess to like that photo; it is all about imagination; not two colors fighting against each other across a small board, but an infinite number of hues flying through the air, creating beautiful patterns in concert with one another. I'll definitely continue to captu

Ghandi being a fruitarian is cool. Selene, all the positive humanitarian reforms in the last four hundred years have come from the birth of secular humanism, not from religion; that is my point. You can call Jesus's philosophy whatever you'd like, but the bibles (note the plural - as they are so many of them) are something that had to be broken away from to make the world a better place. If

Who cares? I wonder if Jane Eyre was a rawfoodist? Personally, I'd take her message over that other persons any day; but they are both fictional, and the latter is actually so off-base, so violent, so against intuition, that I can only hope it and the book it came from die off so we can finally have a real chance of consciousness as a species.

Not. They aren't raw, they are treated with non-raw oils, and they are made from seedless (nutritionally inferior duds) grapes, you realize. Maybe you could buy them specialty from a truly raw/sundried/organic website, but fresh seed-bearing fruit is better.

Suncloud, I don't agree with your reference to only the most conventional possible science or to your philosophical underpinnings. Your spiritual thought of "earning" collectively the right to be vegan has nothing to do with me; Karma is just a metaphor; it doesn't actually exist, and those of us who have never eaten meat simply are vegan or vegetarian animals without the philosophy co

I agree with the article, and so does the long-term raw food family the Taliferos, actually; it isn't just one person who thinks this way.

David Wolfe and Gabriel Cousens are both raw vegans with O blood, and there are many, many more who are thriving; the "blood type diet" is a fraud. Going raw is generally going to be difficult sometimes; but it isn't because people need to eat other foods on account of blood type.

Yeah, I only realized this by accident one month ago because organic zucchini was on sale and there were only really ripe ones available; I could never go back to eating the stiff, starchy ones now!

I don't think you should eat the skin; avoid it as much as possible. I'm very allergic to poisons ivy, oak, sumac, and I find there is some effect from eating mangoes; that and the fact that they are bathed in formaldehyde and pasteurized before being shipped from abroad makes me avoid them. There are so much domestic, seasonal foods that are better; let the Mexicans enjoy their own, untreated

No, "big brother" is out there saying that global warming doesn't exist; you are listening to him and the Bush administration when you say it isn't real. Panels of independent international scientists highly trained in their field, however, show that we are causing catastrophic changes to the planet that threaten our own existence. There is no government that is behind it; the governm

I think Bryan is right on this one. What your body needs and wants is a state of equilibrium where it can become comfortable and healthy so that it can change at its own pace. If there is any chance you will ever go back to cooked food, then don't bother irritating and attacking your body with cleanses only to retox; you can't get the benefits of years of raw food within weeks, you can only get

What a disgusting right-wing news article this is; it isn't funny to read the vapid ignorance of this journalist. Global warming is not "natural," nor is it at question on any rational scientific front; it is a consequence of human behavior which includes to a massive extent the production of animals for food. If our species is going to survive another hundred years, we all have to ma

Yes, vegcase, the site has been invaluable to me; I was using a '5' level sunscreen until I looked at that site yesterday and was able to switch to a product with the lowest rating I could find instead (I just happened to be out at that second.) I'm also going to phase out all of the 'avalon organics' products I had as a result of looking them up there. I don't need a deodorant that causes repr

Yeah, try some of the softer summer squashes that are in season right now; use a vegetable peeler and you will get nice, long noodles. When butternut squash is in season (in the fall-winter) you could use that as well; but spaghetti squash is unfortunately pretty flavorless and sad as a raw food (I know because I made the mistake of buying on once right after I went raw, too.)

That's funny, my family was vegetarian as well, and they reacted very unsupportively to my shift to veganism, and then raw veganism. I can speak for myself that the good choice my ex-parents made in raising their children vegetarian, however, did not mean they otherwise cared at all.

Try to explain to them that you don't want to eat this food, and that you are on your own diet which is very important and means a lot to you. If they aren't able to appreciate that, then just stand your ground; don't eat it. It is against the law for them to physically force something into your body, so you are safe; just walk away from the table. You are a human with rights no matter what yo

So, you don't like to eat any of these foods, let alone in high amounts, but you think your body "needs" the isolated compounds from things that repulse you. I think that is quite a backwards way to approach life; our body responds to foods in relation to whether it needs what is inside of them or not; if you really needed all of this, then you would have strong cravings for big bowls

Ultimately, it is usually going to be the parents who first introduce solid food to their children, so in any case, it is their choice to influence what tastes are "programmed" long before abstract things like "the media" come along. Personally, I loathe television and films, but I don't think it really has the "effect" that people are so afraid of. A lot of people

In all fairness, I wouldn't eat hybridized seedless non-organic grapes or cold carrot slices either. If they were given high quality, good tasting organic fruits like figs or persimmons, I bet they would be more interested.

Is this raw oats ground into a powder, following a glass of fresh plum juice? In any case, though, if you are constipated a breakfast of preferably organic fruit should have enough digestibility and natural fiber to clear you out, unless you have a serious stomach condition; but a bunch of cooked grains, juices from concentrate, and likely cooked olive oil isn't going to help either. Trying a s
