Laurie, calm down now. You are taking me far to serious there. I myself do not follow 80/10/10 so don't feel I'm biased either his way. He is just one man with one approach that has been positive for many. This is where I say don't be so tough on him. You disagree, many disagree, but many agree also and thrive with his approach and many have failed with his approach. He has his reasons for what h

You can eat the greatest diet in the world, but stress and no physical activity can cause unhealthy results. There are other variables to consider as well. In addition, a rawfoodist can make unhealthy choices while remaining 100% raw and see unhealthy results. Also, alot of times a healthy diet and a person's good health can be more sensitive to smaller unhealthy additions that would not effec

I was aware of those links and thanks for listing anyhow :O) Guess I was looking for more than a general listing of dishes. Alot of those I can't tell what's in them either.

David, or anyone for that matter - I know I'm a broken record asking this butttt ---> Does anyone have a more detailed account of what Brian Clement advises to eat on a day to day?? I can't find this anywhere and am still curious since he seems to be on the low fruit side of the fence. Also, don't think I need to change or anything, just really am curious and it seems to be a guarded sec

I think once you use labels, people and curiosity just want to know what that label entails - hence they ask, what do you eat. Think it is only natural for people to question things. The problem being, so many people then try to press their own views into the picture creating tension as I call it. I ask simply because it is interesting how people can be so much the same but so different in the

laurieforti you are being tough on Dr. Graham I think. His book and approach offers guidelines to follow, not absolutes sort of speak. This can be a great help for the beginner or SAD eater especially who have no idea for the most part where to start. So, when Dr. Graham speaks a language they understand better, raw food eating can be better obtained by most. Unfortunately many misunderstand his

So, if I understood the purpose of this in the first place was partly or mainly due to Brian Clements challenge to high fruit eaters - Does he have a response to this at all??

Pineapple and banana is not the best combo, add the air of blending and this can be expected.

Same thing - one is mature(brown), the other is young(white) The meat in the young coconut is softer and easier to digest as is.

At home I go for more bodyweight activities, so I can grab a chair, the steps, a basement rafter, broom handle, water jugs, etc. You can always make a bodyweight exercise harder or more challenging if you need too.

It does take a bit of a knack and effort to learn how to get the hang of getting good ones. Look at the leaves, test the weight, the hardness or softness of them, some can do the smell, etc. Also let them sit for several days at home, turn them upside down as they sit, usually certain stores will carry a better consistency in their orders as opposed to others. After I got this down, I have bee

I believe that raw doesn't regrow hair if it is male pattern baldness. It may, and this no one can say for sure, slow the fallout process though. Be suspicious of those who say they have regrown their hair. If anything, you will at least achieve healthier hair. This in turn can only help :O)

From what I understand, Victoria has had a tough life and been through some very hard times too. I think what everyone goes through in their past has an outcome on their future, especially on the physical side of things, such as health and appearance. Alot can be reversed or renewed, but we can only go so far.

That's interesting Context. I love hearing of other peoples eating habits, even after all this time doing this, especially those different than the norm. I choose to eat "my own way" that works for me and it was scary at first, especially when everything I read or heard told me to do otherwise. Wish I had the knowledge now or even available at my beginnings.

107. Re: Bread
I used to be addicted to bread when I look back. I ate bread with everything. Looking for a bread substitute never worked being raw though for me. I felt raw shouldn't be a substitution diet. What I did come to realize was that I needed to eat enough carbs to end the cravings for bread. The more I ate fruit, the less I wanted bread. The desire for bread is gone now. :O)

You've been raw for so short a time, don't worry yet, just learn to eat and do so day to day before you start tweaking to any degree. This is my advice anyway. Learn to walk before you run ;O) Chances are you will go down in weight at some point as a rebuilding stage, it will come back though, stick it out and take care of yourself. Think long term and overall. Also, higher fats don't alway

You asked what pattern - You ate light or quit eating by 3pm, then the next day you overate, hence the pattern :O) usually the after 3pm method is more for someone that has been eating raw for a while and not a beginner. If you are not a beginner I'm sorry for assuming. Recognizing true hunger and relating hunger to energy levels and what you eat is very tricky to understand. I'd suggest t

Roadrunner, you seem to be repeating a very common pattern. Eat light for 3-4 days, then overeat. Try upping the volume of food a bit the 3-4 days and over time the 4-5th day overeating starts to sudside. Just a thought, sorry if it doesn't apply to you, but reading what you wrote it seems you are falling into that trap :O)

I feel raw puts one in the best state of health, which in turns lets your body do the work of healing in its own time and in the best conditions. Don't forget, good health is more than food. The variables could be your overall health and well being before starting raw. It can perhaps be the raw path you choose, high fat or 80/10/10 or fruitarian, etc. How long you stick to it. Practically anythi

Adapting to Raw will fix it, but you need patience to get there. Many fail here. It can take days, weeks, months, etc. or more, depending on your overall health condition to begin with has a major impact on your progress. In addition, the raw choices you make will impact progress as well. Alot of variables to consider. The other option is to sort out what is causing the discomfort and lay off tho

I figured as much, I was kidding to a degree :O) Anyhow, mono meals is better for physical health, it is simply easier on digestion. If you do not mentally take to mono meals and force it, well being suffers somewhat. Find the in-between and progress to where it works best.

Better for what would be a good question ;O) I find mono meals are easier for my digestion and overall well being based on my many years of eating raw and it's various formats. This is me though. Depending on where one is at in their transition or whatever, you will find different answers I'm sure.

You may want to change your mindset a little unfortunately. Raw foodists will gravitate toward their natural weight. By putting on weight, it would be considered unhealthy and raw foods isn't the way to go about it. You can build muscle to a degree, but again you are what you are when it comes down to it. Getting big and adding 20+ pounds on a raw food diet goes against what a raw food diet is. S

Juicers separate the juice from the fiber, you are left with the juice Vita-mix(blenders) keep it all together. The high power of a vitamix turns almost anything into a liquid, although not quite the same as a juicer in consistency.

Well, with time, the actual craving won't be as strong for the alcohol if you stick to a clean, healthy raw way of eating. And yes, I was a 6 night a week go out drinker many years ago and took a while to stop myself. I'm a musician, so I'm still out in the clubs steadily, without alcohol though these days. I'd suggest give it up entirely if you can, easier in the long run. But the biggest thi

Mono meals have made an amazing difference for myself healthwise, not for most beginners though I feel. That and smaller meals. It helps in many ways, especially to appreciate the food you are eating and be more aware of true hunger and actual taste. Most people think it is boring, it is just the opposite I feel :O)

Be careful of David Klein, alot of his view points are outdated when I talked to him last. He is surprisingly unfamiliar with IBS, but had Colitis issues many years ago and can help with that to a degree. His book is worth it to have on hand though. He pushes what works for him and NOT that everyone reacts differently, too bad, he's very popular. I cannot reiterate enough, it's not about ease
