I am a bit new to this, so forgive me, but I thought this was a Living and Raw foods board? And are ALL people that do the raw foods diet vegan? I thought there were some that ate raw eggs and had dairy in their diets. Am I wrong? And seriously, is it truly that offensive to hear about someone that is following a bit of a different diet? Can't we just accept that not everyone is the same an

arugula - if I may just say something....not everyone on here is vegan, and that's ok. I personally would rather get my B12 from food sources, and not have to take a "supplement". How do you know what is really in that supplement? Not trying to start a debate or anything, but I just don't think it's fair for you to criticize others for not being vegan. Kim

This may be a "vegan" forum, but I don't think that every single person on here is vegan, myself included. I drink raw goats milk and eat eggs on occassion. The milk and eggs that I get are from a vegetarian organic farmer, who is a close friend of ours. She treats her animals as good as they can possibly be treated. I don't buy my stuff in the store - I get it from her. Now th

Hmmmm...not so sure I can do the raw egg thing. Can I get B12 from cooked eggs? I am ok with eating eggs, but not ok with eating meat, so I would rather do it that way. Thanks for the info! Kim

I am full of questions today, I guess! Are there certain fruits that are better to eat in the morning, and ones that are better in the evenings? Thanks again! Kim

I see a lot of people mention on here that they supplement with B12. Why is that? Which foods are the B12 vitamin found in and why do people on a raw foods diet need to supplement with it? Thanks! Kim

And Nedsin...obviously, what you are doing isn't working for you and making you happy. So you know what? CHANGE IT. No one on here can tell you what is going to work for YOU. You need to figure it out on your own. Do some experimenting and figure it out.

While I agree that some of the language and personal attacks in Sunshine's posts could have been better, I have to agree with her. I have stayed out of this post, but feel the need to comment now. Everyone has been MORE than helpful to Nedsin, and all he does is criticize what everyone else has to say. His negative attitude is very tiresome and draining.

Did any of you find that you were snacking ALL day long once you went to a raw foods diet? Is this just normal? I feel like I am hungry every 1-2 hours and I snack all day! Is that ok? After being on a raw foods diet for a longer period of time, do you still find that you snack all day? I would imagine that is the case since the food we eat is so easily digested, but I was just curious. T

I live in the Midwest, so there isn't too much sunshine available in Winter time. When you say you "take kelp", do you take a pill/vitamin that provides the kelp?

As I transiiton more and more to a 100% raw foods diet (I am probably at about 95% now) I htink about all of the things that I should eat on a daily basis to make sure I am not missing out on any vital nutrients/minerals, etc. What are some raw food items that you consider very important? Like things that should be eaten each day, or at least each week. Also, what does everyone think abo

When I was in the process of switching to an all raw diet, I did have some Ezekial bread once a day to help out during the transition period. It's not raw, but it is a sprouted grain bread. After a while, I just started to replace my one piece of bread with some fruit, and now I don't crave it anymore. Brian is right...grains are so addicting. I did notice that when I did eat it, I just wante

Sorry to dig this post up again, but I have to comment on soy prodcuts. I was eating a lot of tofu and soy products. Then I started to switch to a raw diet, and read about the dangers of too much soy. Well, I quit eating ALL soy products. I felt absolutely horrible for 3 weeks after I quit. I felt so bad that I went to the doctor. They tested my blood and found that my hormones levels were

Jackie - I completely understand what you are saying. This topic is always being discussed on the Buddhist forum that I belong to. Unfortunately, there is no way around NOT killing something as we live our life. Think about how many insects you kill on your drive in to work, or wherever. And I am quite sure that 99% of the population quickly kills a mosquito that is trying to bite them, or a

Ally and 24 carrots...thank you for your posts. One of the reasons I did put up this post was to find out if there was another good source of fat, other than cod liver oil. What about hemp seed oil? I have heard that is pretty good for your brain. Does anyone know anything about it? I have a three year old daughter, so getting her to have the right kind of fat for her brain development is ve

Well, will you die if you do not get enough DHA, or you will just not receive all of the health benefits if you were to get the correct amount of DHA daily? I am asking because I really don't know.

If someone can tell me about an oil that is just as good as cod liver oil, then I will gladly change. Not trying to be argumentative or anything...I have researched oils for a while now, and have not been able to find one that is as good as cod liver oil. Flaxseed Oil vs. Cod Liver Oil Flax oil and other vegetable sources of omega 3 do not contain any DHA or EPA. They contain a form of om
