personally maca gave me extreme fatigue even when I was taking a moderate dose. But some people seem to do fine on it...just check your bodies reaction after a couple of weeks to make sure it isn't making you more tired (I was very energised by it in the beginning before getting the fatigue) .

There are different types of ovarian cyst and some resolve better on their own than others. But generally I have always read that for menstural issues, endometriosis etc. a vegan diet is indicated and that meat / dairy can worsen or aggravate symptoms. I have been researching something called DIM recently (extract from cruciferous vegetables ) which is for eostrogen dominant conditions such as o

luvyuu I know your symptoms can be caused by more than one thing. I have had many of them and in my case one thing was candida caused by over use of antibiotics in the past and the other, more important was chronic hyperventilation syndrome - its something very common but not often paid attention to. the fact that you have difficulty breathing and post nasal drip makes it ring a bell for me. I

I've heard of the grape cure that is supposed to be eating as many grapes as you want for 30 days which is supposed to cure most disease according to the author of the book, but have no idea if it works. But this type of thing I imagine is supposed to be temporary to cleanse the body and allow it to heal - not a long term eating habit.

I guess I would say that rather than beating yourself up about eating some cooked food, I would congratulate your self about all the healthy raw food you are eating since positive thinking is better for your health. I also think the guilt feelings from slips now and then are probably worse for health than the actual food. If it is very hard for you psychologically to be 100% raw (it is for me) I

Hello, I know that cacao beans are something that some raw food eaters like, but that a lot of forum users don't think they are so good for the body because of stimulant properties. I have a local supply of them and sometimes I use some in raw sweets but only in small quantites now and then...so far I never felt any negative effect but I have never eaten them regularly. I was reading something

Hello, I have some aloe vera growing in my garden. My husband brought a couple of leaves in that had fallen off when he was working in the garden and said could we eat them? I thought we could put them in a shake or something but I think I 've read somewhere that there is something toxic in aloe vera that has to be removed first. Does anyone use aloe vera and if so how do you prepare it? in what

I guess fluid retention can also be a cause of weight gain if youre drinking a gallon of juice? maybe try eating fruits in natural form (not smoothies) and don't go over the top on quantity. Or just have 1-2 smoothies per day instead of a gallon which sounds like a lot...or have juices instead of smoothies which are also very cleansing.... the raw food cakes sound good but for me more as somethi

If you got better taking penecillin it seems a bit unsure that candida is in fact your problem. Normally candida problems get much worse when taking antibiotics because they kill off the good bacteria which normally keep yeast in check. Another thing worth checking out for difficult to diagnose health problems is chronic hyperventilation - I had this problem and it caused a myriad of mental and

I know of someone who has said that they got major metabolic issues through bee's diet with high fats and a lot of meats...personally don't think its healthy for the body and especially not the heart but I'm not an expert. There are some videos on YOU TUBE from one Freelee who claims to have healed candida with a fruit mono diet (I think she did bananas in the beginning). Wondering if anyone kno

I'm not taking any herbs at the moment but in the past I've taken oregano oil, berberine, aretmisine (for giardia), LDM 100 (which I think is bacterio and yeast static so your immune system can then take care of it) propolis (I dont know if that is vegan or not but very antibiotic) and some ayurvedic herbs. None of these gave me any rebound yeast infection in the way conventional antibiotics do.

If you put the type of dried yeast for bread making in sugar water or with flour it will come to life and bubble. I wonder if it would do the same put in wheatgrass juice? maybe not a fully scientifc study but I'm curious to know.... But as powerlifer said I doubt you would be taking in large enough quantities to feed candida....if its benefiting the way you feel I would stay with it...

thank you for the replies. I know I read somewhere that garlic doesn't kill good bacteria but actually stimlates it's growth - I can't remember where though. I'm also not that keen on saukraut . Where I live in India local people make a type of pickle by putting amla or green mango or some small cucumber in salt water and leaving it to ferment for some days. Would that be a probiotic even if the

I wonder a little about the ethics of eating transported coconuts since they have to travel so far and are very large and heavy to transport. But about the original question, dry coconut doesnt usually blend well in my experience since its fibrous whereas young coconut does into a creamy substance. But you can make coconut milk by blending dried coconut with water and the straining, although it

hello, I'd like to introduce more probiotic foods into my diet. I used to eat a lot of yoghurt but its not vegan (I'm not exactly a strict vegan but going that way). I also use miso when i can get my hands on some but it's also not a raw food I think. Any other good options / recipes? is fermented seed cheese probiotic? thank you for any replies...

I'm not sure about herbal anti fungals killing the good bacteria? can anyone point me to a study on the subject? When I have had to take allopathic antibotics I ALWAYS get a case of thrush, ringworm, athletes foot etc. yet I have taken several types of antifungal / antibiotic or antiparasitic herbs and have never had any such side effect. Maybe these herbs don't in fact attack the good bacteria

Is there really anything wrong with having a nice cup of earl grey now and then if we are generally in good health? i would say its only a problem if we are drinking too much of it.

I bought some fresh dates from the market (like really fresh - red colour) and was pretty excited. However a couple of days later when they were ripe I noticed small worms in many of them and could not eat them. I wonder what commercial companies do to prevent this happening - are they sprayed with anything?

I have the Raw Food Bible buy Leslie Kenton (they have a few other books too). I think all the recipes are simple and give good basic ideas for salads, juices, dressings, seed cheeses and dips as well as information about food combining. They are not 100% raw though - they also make suggestiong for the small % of cooked food that you may want to eat. Also there are no dehydrator recipes which
