I've never eaten a rosehip but have loads in my garden... can they be eaten raw, or juiced maybe? All the recipes on the internet are cooked and sugar-based (maybe they're really tart or something?).

I had 2 goji berry plants given to me a few years ago. They've never grown any bigger, despite repotting/plant feed, and after the snow back in January, they both lost all their leaves. The leaves came back, but the smaller of the plants suddenly lost its leaves again for no obvious reason and they haven't grown back. I don't think the plant is completely dead. It just looks like a thick stick

A lot of 'raw vegans' seem to be diluting the very spirit of veganism. Turning an ethical practice into a practice about self only.

Shelled hemp seeds add a bit of extra bite to salads. Not quite rice, but has a similar nutty texture. Maybe you could mix hemp seeds and sprouted peas/beans into a salad made from olive/herb dressed veggies like red peppers, tomatoes and cucumber? I am hopeless at sprouting amaranth It always goes pink and funny.

Lizard, I know exactly what you mean. I would love to forage for goodies but don't have the confidence- I would end up confusing some kind of edible weed with deadly nightshade or something I find the illustrations in books pretty inaccurate! You could google to see if there are any nature tours you can do nearby where the guide can at least tell you what is/isn't poisonous.

I used to be able to have a big spoon of spirulina in my giant green smoothies without any problem. But, when I bought some more recently (same brand, organic), I find the stuff makes me gag a bit. I find the smell worse than before, and can detect the taste more more too. I've been using berries as the base for my smoothies (which aren't the best for green smoothies, I admit), so maybe that's

Haha Maybe they were 'raw' tigers? When I had durian my cats were fascinated! Cats and dogs seem to love really stinky stuff!

Pineapple! Pineapple has such a big, sweet flavour you can go mad with stuff like watercress, rocket, kale and spirulina without the smoothie tasting like a swamp

I aim to drink the recommended 8 glasses a day, sometimes more. It really shows in my skin if I don't drink enough water. Also, drinking cool water helps calm my allergies. Before I got my adrenalin ani-pen, my solution to my swollen throat/face was to guzzle tonnes of ice-cold water... it really alleviates the symptoms. Plus after a hot, face-burning workout, nothing better than sitting

No worries, DNS, I appreciated the input! The last few days I have felt a bit tired, so I cut down the cardio to 1 hour. I'm feeling nice and energised. Yayyy!

If a recipe called for 1/3 cup of agave, how many dates can I use in its place? I'd have to turn them into slurry, so would it be 1/4 cup dates + 1 or 2 tbs water or something?

Galia melons taste a little like honeydew, but are round and very fragrant/soft. They smell so good and make great smoothies! Hi curator- I think the creamy bit would have to be nut, coconut or banana based, getting the texture right would probably be a nightmare, though if frozen for a short time, then processed again and put through a piping bag, maybe it would kinda look a little like the w

That looks delish Cacao/avocado mousse and raw strawberry trifle (layers of ground nuts, with layers of strawberries and vanilla-coconut) are nice. My first two raw desserts were Alissa Cohen's date nut torte and her papaya dessert- who knew just blending papaya and banana would create such a yummy pudding!? One of my fave treats is literally just a big juicy ripe galia melon. Bliss!

Hi guys, thanks for the replies Jodi- I don't have access to a gym, and the only equipment I have is a lateral thigh trainer and some light weights. I have exercise DVDs that show exercises that target muscle groups, so I think I'll give those a go. The reason I do the 2 hours all in one go is because I now have a nice, extremely convenient time slot in the morning David- thanks for the b

I find myself unable to eat small quantities of them. When I was at my highest with raw, I remember buying a packet of dried figs, eating the entire bag and not feeling in the food for anything fresh That said, I swear I read somewhere that dried figs, raisins etc are high in iron?

For the last week or so, I've been exercising 2 hours a day (cardio), which is a huge jump for me. Is this too much? Should I be doing 1 hour instead and maybe an hour of yoga or another lighter form of exercise? Already my thighs/calves are feelig on the tight side, and I don't want to injure myself. I also want to avoid stretch marks, so I don't want to lose weight too rapidly. Also, I a

I'd go with spirulina too. I used to use barley wheat grass- I found it okay to drink with just water, unlike a lot of other green powders that taste a bit gross. I think it might be more expensive than spirulina though.

I had another go- kept it simple- tomatoes, red pepper, cucumber, a clove of garlic and a dash of olive oil. Tasted a lot nicer without the onion but got indigestion again The toms & cucumber are organic, but the pepper wasn't. My dad gets indigestion from cucumber... wonder if I'm suffering the same problem?

Thanks for the responses I usually use cilantro (or other fresh, salad-y herbs) for extra flavour. I think I'll try it minus the onion, and maybe add a tiny bit of garlic. I would have a go at experimenting with the onion, but I'm still having nightmares from last time :-D Bryan- I think I've seen a tomatillo once in my entire life! UK supermarkets aren't very tomatillo friendly!

I made a raw gazpacho a few days ago, and used spring onions instead of normal onion. I had horrible indigestion and yucky burps! The spring onions made it worse, but I recall not liking the raw onion aftertaste of previous gazpachos I've eaten! Does anyone have a gazpacho recipe without the onion, but that still somehow manages to have that savoury 'bite' to it? I was thinking of using a teas
