It's good that people get to hear about the benefits of algae/alternative diets etc by the media covering her doing this, but I bet the tabloids will be mocking about it. "Posh starves herself on algae" "Posh's EXTREME new diet" etc.

Is the B12 supplement 100%? I've seen all kinds of things added to supplements- artificial sweeteners, animal products etc.

It's kind of messed up that mice had to die to point out the bleeding obvious! To make matters worse, they always release conflicting information every other day on the news. Next week they'll be telling us that cooked grains are actually good for us. How on earth is the average person supposed to make sense of all this random information they are given, especially if they know they can't trus

Hi aquadecco! We had the 'congestion charge' here introduced a few years back. If you enter central london, you get charged a fee. In truth, it's a bit of a con. There's rumours of it spreading as far as some of the smaller towns, which will have a massive negative effect on independent businesses. Bus prices have gone up- £2 per journey, even if you only get off at the next stop- and

I don't feel so good on dehydrated foods either! I've felt bloated, and sometimes, the dehydrated foods aren't even all that nice. At first, my taste buds were like "yay! it tastes good and it's raw" and I don't seem to be getting that effect anymore.

I went to Stockholm a few years back and was so impressed at how clean the city was. I don't remember seeing any graffiti or any litter. The people seemed proud to be Swedish etc. I felt 100% safe walking the streets, even late at night In England, you get people who say they're proud to be British, and then spit on the pavement, throw litter, fly-tip, drive their SUVs etc. Yet when you so mu

Source: Yahoo LIMA (AFP) - Villagers in southern Peru were struck by a mysterious illness after a meteorite made a fiery crash to Earth in their area, regional authorities said Monday. Around midday Saturday, villagers were startled by an explosion and a fireball that many were convinced was an airplane crashing near their remote village, located in the high Andes department of Puno in th

frumpy18- I'm high raw, and now and again I struggle a bit! I find it easier to accept I'm in the learning process, and that if I'm going to slip, then that's fine, but not to slip too far! i.e I've come home starving and there hasn't been much in the fridge and I've had to resort to something out of the cupboard, I think, okay, I'm having beans on toast, for example, but I'm having 1 slice of br

When going raw, which foods does everyone think are the hardest/take the longest to detox? meat dairy e-numbers aspartame & sweeteners refined sugar refined grains salty foods potatoes caffeine oily foods (+any others I've forgot to list!) Also, are any of these as bad or similar to detoxing past problems such as smoking/alcohol/drugs? Thanks

hi veggieluv! certain fruits have a lot of calories- melons, pineapple, banana etc that you can use for bumping up your calorie intake. What veggies is it that you are trying to get in that are giving you problems? Some veg tastes better on its own (carrots, cucumber, peppers etc) cut into strips and served with a raw dip rather than mixed with a tonne of other stuff. I've gone off onions

Amazing! A few days ago I left work early, and on the way home, I felt awful. Hot, sticky etc. I started to feel pressure around my sinuses, and ended up getting a headache. The last month or so, my teeth were starting to feel very compacted (I think I need a brace) and I was getting pressure pains around my teeth, nose and eyes. I read this thread last night. This morning, I felt pressure

$15! That is kind of expensive for a burrito! But that said, a main course in most UK restaurants is about £9 ($18?). That's a cooked meal, not necessarily freshly made, probably not organic and might have been microwaved! Maybe it would be easier to start off semi-raw and vegan, and anything that is cooked, make sure it's only very lightly cooked or steamed etc. That way, you could speak to

I find the most painful part is when someone on SAD- who LOOKS like they're on SAD!- can look you in the eye and tell you that SAD is healthier even if you're looking happy and healthy! I think I've bored my boyfriend to tears talking about raw food stuff! It's just that it's so darn interesting! Even though I don't believe in 'natural hygiene' 100% at this time, I find the subject fascinating

I'm not an expert, but I always mix the pure essential oil with a carrier oil such as almond or coconut before using on my skin. Some oils come ready to go on the skin, but they might have extra unnecessary ingredients...

Have you read shazzies articles over at shazzie.com? She speaks a lot about being a raw mum, though it seems to be more about after the pregnancy rather than during. There's a raw vegan radio show with her on talking about it (maybe someone will have a link?). For nutrition, there are quite a few standard vegan books on the subject (they're not raw-based, but you could adapt). i.e. vegan socie

Raw food restaurant! Yayyy! How much easier would that make life? Imagine you're starving hungry and you haven't been raw long enough to get over any cravings, and right there in front of you is a place selling raw falafel, lasagne or courgetti with raw cake for dessert plus green smoothies and fresh coconut!!! There would be NO excuse for not staying raw! Pre-raw I'd always dreamed of sta

what made me go raw vegan from vegan was my health. I was slim (a UK size 6/8 petite) until a horrible, stressful time where I ended up drinking gallons of sugary, caffeine-y drinks. I had no time to exercise (to the point where I never left the house some days!), was eating a lot of indian/chinese takeaways (vegan) for convenience. Eventually, all the fat and sugar caught up with me, I put on

I use natural ones too, and also found that those that cut all the horrible ingredients out don't seem to be as 'effective'. BUT, since going raw, washing my hair less (once a week these days), drinking green smoothies and eating nuts, my hair looks great! This last week, I've also not been bothered to brush it either, have left it tousled, and it looks extremely healthy and thick! Try

hi ferg, well done for eliminating factory farmed products, but I think many people (including me) see vegetarianism and veganism as one of the main steps in the raw journey (this is a vegan forum, after all!). Aside from the important moral issues, meat eating can often be questionable in terms of health (parasites, the type of meat being eaten, whether man can naturally kill the animal wi

what the hell is wrong with people? I'm sure they have better things to do! "Strawberries could be dipped in a soup made from egg proteins and shrimp shells. The resulting film — invisible, edible and, ideally, flavorless — would fight mold, kill pathogens and keep the fruit ripe longer" Hmm. That's very considerate towards people with egg and shellfish allergies!

I hope lots of people go it's great to see more of these kinds of events going on. Sometimes you feel kinda left out, being in the UK! Does anyone know if there'll be any kind of food for sale there (to actually eat there, not superfood stuff to take away), or should I bring a packed lunch? thanks ps: happy b'day in advance, miss tanya!
