Would it be safe to 'warm' liquids and foods using that thingymajig they use in restaurants- a tray type thing that you put lit candles inside, with the plate/cup on top so the heat of the candle gently warms the food?

I have a spoon every now and then- I eat it straight off the spoon ;-) - and my only problem with it is that if I don't immediately brush my teeth, it gets me in the mood for more sugar and/or salt.

On front page of MSN UK today: What does everyone think about this? 1) I know some raw foodists say they drink small amounts of raw milk without any major (apparent) side effects, but if this really takes off, does this mean the non-raw general public will be drinking raw milk with their tea? Making 'cooked' meals using raw milk thinking they're being 'healthy'!? 2) If it really take

I bought a persimmon advertised as a sharon fruit a few months back. I was really disappointed when I read this on Wikipedia: "Sharon Fruit" is the trade name for D. kaki fruit that has been artificially ripened with chemicals.

There's a green area about 10 miles away from where I live, and I'd visited it when I was younger, and only within the last year or so, me and my partner started going back there again on some weekends. It sounds funny, but there's one particular area there that feels like 'home'. It's full of these tall, beautiful red-trunked trees, and I always have this urge to wrap my arms around them and

Yayyy! Eating with hands is the best! It's so instinctive- even with messy foods. There's something so clinical about knives and forks - "I wouldn't touch this food with my hands, but I would put it in my mouth". It makes me think of that type of bear that uses a stick to collect ants to put straight in his mouth to stop them from biting him! Human behaviour- what are we like, eh

Not quite as tasty as a banana, IMHO, but I use half an avocado in some smoothies. I also throw in some apple for sweetness.

Hi Lorretta! Your body isn't needing extra iron, is it? I've been finding when I've been eating less greens like spinach, chocolate cravings have been coming back... I always bought a big chocolate bar at the store the other day but bought some organic dried figs. Not fresh by any means, but far better to eat those than to eat chocolate Worked really well!

Good tips from everyone! got some more!... position your monitor so that past the screen you can see through a window or an area that is busy with movement. This ensures your eyes are constantly working whilst you work/use the machine. If you have a PC up against a wall, your wide vision isn't being exercised adequately. Remember to blink, and take breaks + try palming- darken a room, rub t

Hi Mislu, Without going into too much detail, are the stools otherwise normal other than being loose? i.e. colour, texture etc? To ease any discomfort, you could temporarily try psyllium husks for extra fibre to see if it helps- remember to drink lots of water. It may be worth reading up on liver detoxes/how bile is created, how fibre is necessary for good bowel movements etc. There's a

Sometimes I convince myself that it's too much 'work' cutting up and eating the fresh fruit/veg as opposed to picking dried fruit/nuts from a bag ;-) But then, when I do have the motivation to eat say, a giant fresh salad, bowl of fruit, smoothie or juice, I realise how good I feel, and how much better my tummy feels (no indigestion etc). Lately, I've been trying to keep that feeling in my

Hi Ezra I have the same problem! Not enough cash! I know we're starting to go into autumn, but even here in the rainy UK there is still a lot of fruit on the bushes (blackberries etc), dandelion leaves (free!). Sprouting is cheap, also look for fruit on sale at the supermarket or buy one get one free offers. Fruits like melon may be more expensive but they have a massive amount of calorie

From viva.org.uk (I kind of ignored the UK vs US slant of the article, but some of the info is very interesting and encouraging) Percentage wise, there are over twice as many vegetarians in the UK as there are in the whole of America. Proof, Viva! – the national campaigning vegetarian group – says, that the UK leads the way when it comes to making ethical choices about what we eat. More

Yayyy Mislu! I love insects. People are always so eager to kill flies, call them ugly and disgusting, but in the light, they are beautiful creatures, kind of incredible to look at up close. This is one of those spider catcher thingies: (it's a UK site, but I think most gadget shops have them) We don't have poisonous spiders here in the UK, so I pick them up in my hand or use a g

From Yahoo.com WASHINGTON - The growing number of deformed frogs in recent years is caused at least partly by runoff from farming and ranching, new research indicates. Nitrogen and phosphorous in the runoff fuel a cycle that results in a parasitic infection of tadpoles, resulting in loss of legs, extra legs or other deformities, according to researchers led by Pieter Johnson of the Univ

I use a capful over the top of my wet hair and massage it in - making sure it doesn't go anywhere near my eyes! I'm not sure if it's anything to do with the acv, the raw food or what, but my hair is growing so fast I can't keep up with it! Maybe my body is trying to revert back to being a monkey
