Can anyone suggest a link to a site has has a very easy to follow guide on making Kombucha (with pics would be fab)? I'd like to have a go at this, but because of the nature of it, I'm scared of screwing up and making myself ill! :-P

I bought some epsom salts from my chemist/health food store last week as part of a liver cleanse. They came in a clear bag titled "Magnesium Sulfate - Epsom salts / bath salts". I thought epsom salts were all the same, until I saw another site having a smaller tub listed as "Food grade epsom salts". Is it safe to use mine internally as part of my cleanse? Thanks in ad

LOL @ all the meaty man talk :-D We need to run a cold shower in here! Maybe it's more than just the smell though, maybe it's the attitude and body language. All the vegan/vegetarians I have met, are always more likely to 'think out of the box' (hence them cutting out meat/dairy etc), and I find that type of alternative thinking a desirable trait in a friend/partner. Everyone is differe

Hi azrael- is the bread you are eating home-made or store-bought? Sometimes I've seen extra ingredients added to store-bought sprouted bread...

Since going raw I've been having really creepy dreams that border on being nightmares. In one night, I had about 3 dreams where I survived a terrorist attack, a flooding, and also a dream where I was in a car with my dad and the car fell from high up onto its roof (not sure if I survived or not). I've had at least 3 bomb-related dreams as of late. Last night I had another death-related drea

LOL! A raw ego thread! Yay! When I was in superb physical shape about 4/5 years ago (the outside only, though!), it was also when I went through the most horrible, jealous phase of my life. I'd be putting down people who felt like a threat to me (physically with women, mentally with men), because I thought if I bought attention to their flaws, other people would see that and would think

Hi nannie11 It sounds like food poisoning to me to, but just a quick suggestion after your comment about not eating avocados: I feel nauseous when I eat something that I don't like, usually when I just eat it for health reasons. The first time I tried seaweed, I liked it, and then gradually I started to really dislike the aftertaste. Anyway, a while ago I made salad with it in, and eve

I use the sugar and lemon mixture too. There's a certain ratio you can use which means you can skip using fabric strips- you just tear off strips off of the sugar mixture, and flatten it out on your skin, then in a few moments it goes hard. I use this version on my bikini line (when I can be bothered!) as I'm too lazy to do it evenly over my legs. I never ever get dry skin from sugaring

I quite like them on their own :-) Pre-raw, I used to sprinkle them on muesli to jazz it up a bit... I've seen recipes where they are soaked and added to smoothies, raw 'cakes' and sweets. They kind of taste like a cross between a dried-up cranberry and wholemeal bread to me...

I made an apple cider vinegar rinse for my hair after washing it yesterday (shampoo only, no conditioner). Even though I didn't use conditioner, my hair came out looking soft, shiny and healthy without any knots. Yay!!! I have really thick hair, and have gone off using conditioner as a lot of them contain 'baddies' like sodium benzoate that I'm allergic to. Hooray for ACV

FruitarianOne- I think that's pretty mean of them doing that to you. So what even if you were advertising? Isn't part of what makes the raw food movement so great is how everyone supports eachother? I like to see small/independant businesses help eachother out. Jeeeez! Next they'll stop people sharing raw food stockist info, and start selling Alissa Cohen branded carrots and bananas on the

I fell out with a moderator on there who had major double standards- basically, the long time users on there could say whatever they wanted, but soon as I said something she didn't like, she became spiteful in her posts. She deleted MY posts, and left hers in, and the way she worded her posts, it made it appear like I was being chastised for saying something outrageously disrespectful about her,

I second maca Also Jodi's comment about the brain. Without getting too foul mouthed, there's nothing sexier than having a real tiger for a partner Being pressured to 'perform' whilst knackered from a bad lifestyle is kind of distressing, so you could just regularly try massage and heavy petting, and then allow him to take the lead if he isn't too fatigued. Rather than looking for supplem

I was going to do a liver flush this weekend, but have since read that it's better to do a parasite cleanse first to ensure there wont be any blockages, which can make you ill etc. It sort of made sense until every site that mentioned this seemed to link to a very expensive parasite cleanse program. Hmm. So, is this true or are they just trying to make a quick buck (or 100!)? I suffer from

Hi Adam Yeah, soy is off the list. As a transitional milk, try rice milk instead (a lot healthier), and then try swapping that for a nut milk. There are a few recipses for instant nut milks on the net, where you make a nut milk using filtered water, nut butter and vanilla as opposed to doing it the hard way. Good luck

My dad's eyes became more grey as he got older and mine have gone quite dark blue. Interestingly, I used to wear clear contact lenses a while back and my eyes HATED them. People used to stop and stare, asking me if I was wearing coloured lenses as my eyes looked this freaky blue colour, presumably because my body classified the lenses and the lens solution as an irritant, which made my eyes w

In Shazzie's defense, her stuff does seem expensive, but hey, in the UK everything is expensive!! A galia melon costs $4 sometimes from a supermarket, let alone any superfoods. Tesco were selling a packet of goji berries for the equivelent of $16!! Also, a large bar of quality non-raw dark chocolate will cost just under $4 at least, nevermind a raw chocolate bar that has all that extra work pu

I always feel sick after cinema popcorn!! Even before I went raw I stopped eating it because it left such a horrible cardboardy non-food taste in my mouth, almost as if I'd been gnawing on my shirt sleeve throughout the film! I started smuggling in my own food ;-)

SUGAR FREE GUM! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm not sure which kind of sugar free gum you are chewing, but most brands contain the artificial sweeteners Aspartame or Acesulfame K. Aspartame poisoning is a cause of migraines, sickness, fatigue etc. Probably one of the worst things you can put in your body, in my humble opinion. You may be going through detox right now, but it's possible an artifi

Guyyys! Don't kill things! Especially when there's a VEGAN option available. If you came home to a swarm of chipmunks eating food from your fruit bowl you wouldn't poison them all or suffocate them! Seriously, I know most people don't care about insects, but one of the things about veganism is you don't use shellac and cochineal, because of how insects are farmed and killed. No vegan de
