I LUV kombucha and have made my own a few times. Warning: WATCH OUT FOR FRUIT FLIES! The longer it ferments, the more vinegary it gets. I like it vinegary, lol. Good luck! - Matt

Well guys, I just gave in to pizza (vegan, but not raw). I guess I can't do all raw, after all. I'm still going to be into raw, just not 100% raw.

Hello! I took the entire year of 2009 to prepare for going raw. I started experimenting with plant based diets when I was 18 in early 2003, I went vegetarian when I was 21 in late 2005, I went vegan when I was 23 in early 2008 and now I'm going raw! My short term goals are to lose weight, clear up my psoriasis and have more energy. My long term goals are to help prevent disease. I'm

Yeah, that's another thing. I read on another forum that Yogi tea dries the leaves at low temps??? The FAQ section of this site says the best thing to do regarding tea is to grow your own herbs. I don't know if you can grow your own black or green tea? I was thinking about drinking it only during my transition as well. I have over 6 months to decide, lol.

I'm interested in making kombucha, but it bugs me that you have to heat up water in order to steep the tea. I'm currently transitioning to raw. I'm going to go raw on 1-1-10. I know after researching that you can use raw sugar or agave (I don't use honey) instead of refined sugar. But is there a way to make it truly raw? I'm sort of obsessive compulsive and if I'm going to go raw I don

debbietook, thanks for the info! I've asked this on other forums and so far you're the only one who is 100% against nutritional yeast and maple syrup. Thanks for your answer, this gives me something to think about. That food looks so good! I favorited the site. As I transition I'll probably try to stop using them. I'll just have to see.

tglasco4, thanks for the input! I'm still going to use them now in my transition period. I guess I'll just have to see how I feel about them once I go raw. communitybuilder and arugula, I never thought about nutritional yeast as a supplement! That is a good way to look at it because I'm not opposed to using things like spirulina powder.

I did the cleanse for 15 days and broke it with orange juice today. Check

> Does the label matter? I'm more concerned with why raw foodists use these when they aren't raw and if I should, too. I would like to know what to call myself, too, though.

I keep seeing nutritional yeast and pure maple syrup in raw recipes, even though these aren't raw. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to use nutritional yeast and maple syrup when I go raw. There's a part of me that doesn't want to simply because they aren't raw. But, on the other hand, I'm not opposed to using spices (powder). I almost look at nutritional yeast as a cheesy flavored spic

That drink doesn't sounds raw, but if it will help you transition, I say go for it! I personally am taking this year to transition because I think (for me) it's better to go slow and end up raw then just flat out jump into it. I tried jumping into in mid 07 failed miserably, lol. Good luck!

Hi! I'm new and cleansing, too! Which cleanse are you doing? I'm eating a pre-cleansing diet of raw food today, the 2nd and 3rd. I'm getting a colonic on the 3rd and starting the Master Cleanse on the 4th. I really like the Master Cleanse (even though it's not raw). I've done 10 days before, I'm going to try for 2 weeks this time. You said you keep failing? I tried raw in mid 07 a faile

16. Hello!
Hi, guys! I joined and posted back in April, but I don't think I ever introduced myself. My name is matt, I'm vegan and interested in being high raw! I'm taking 09 to ease into it. I'm starting the year off with a cleanse and then I'm going to start cutting things out of my diet (like soy milk) and replacing them with raw (like almond milk) each month until I go raw on January 1st 2010.
