I saw this on another forum; Happy Cow is a site that shows you a list of vegan/raw dining choices in your area. Pretty cool! I have seven choices within 10 mi. of me. I've been to two of them.

Never had them...but I recently read on another website where Calcium Bentonite clay baths can be used as a treatment for this. I would either go that route, or a homeopathic remedy for hives...or both. I just remembered, you don't use homeopathic remedies...

I was looking at them awhile back on Omega's website. Looks interesting. I would want to go for one of the more powerful models though. For the amount of money they are asking, you may be just as well of with a refurb Vitamix...

I have been doing some searching - found D & S ranches in California - raw & *unpasteurized...well, they use some newfangled process of pasteurization that doesn't harm the nut. Prices are attractive - 9.95 - 1 lb. almonds. Walnuts same price. (yum!) Looks like they run deals all the time offering free ship if you buy larger amounts. I wonder about the pasteurization process...

I hear you, coco... We have a lot of stuff...and much of it seems like a necessity, but is it really? For example, I would like to condense some of my work areas...I have three printers, tons of cables, quite a few pieces of audio/recording equipment, instruments, electronics/test equipment....it just goes on & on... I have managed to condense/eliminate extra items in the kitchen tho

The one I recently had was somewhat bitter...almost like a grapefruit, but not quite as tart as that. I was a bit disappointed after I opened it to discover what little actual meat it contained. At $2.60 a pop, I decided to pass on them in the future, for the most part.

Anyone have any other sources that nutsonline.com for raw/unpasteurized nuts/seeds? I wanted to make a purchase, but I see Almonds are $13.99/lb. right now, & that's not even including the shipping! OUCH! Any other stores that you know of? Guess I'm off to google.

"P.S. Does MM drive anyone else up-the-wall, or is it just me?" LOL - someone said that exact same thing something like a year ago on here. he is "different" than me, but oh well...I can deal with him I guess. I think the vid where the girl on the right rocks the blender all around is goofy...you do not need to rock it like that...but I suppose there is a bit of sensatio

Thanks to all for your input. The only seaweed I see at any of the store I frequent is Nori & dulse, & it is in sealed plastic bags. Is that how it usually is purchased, or are there markets where you can buy it "fresh". @ Paul - you seem to know a lot about the different ones, their content, etc. Do you have a good source/ website for that info.? I need to do some readin

What do you all think about the "cleanness" of seaweed? If we are to believe the environmentalists, it is not being grown in the healthiest of environments.

I know many tout the health benefits of seaweed, but it is something I have never been a big fan of, plus I can't get it fresh locally anyway... Is this something I need to be consuming in order to maintain a well rounded diet, or is it not really that necessary?

pborst, do you work for the govt., lol / JK Personally, I am against the Government forcing people to do anything. It's like the cat calling the kettle black. It seems it is just fine & dandy for them to break all the rules and hold us little guys accountable to every last jot & tittle of the letter... Here's a thought; how 'bout we all purchase our own health ins., just like

It is more of a "plug"; I don't know why they call it a gasket...Anyway, you leave the plug "plugged in" for all juicing. You only pull it out to clean the bowl, as that will allow you to scrape/dig out that area with the supplied brush/scraper - and also allow water to flush through that area. It is attached so you don't lose it.

"But what we got is better than nothing, and better what the opposition was offering, which was basically status quo." Maybe better than nothing if you're not a small business owner trying to cope with the headache of staying afloat through all of this... Good luck! That can be a lucrative side business, or even a main business to get into. I don't know how your laws/ordinances/requirements are on it, though - you may want to check into that... We (well, my wife) looked into this a few years ago as there is a hugh market for baked goods of all types at our local farmers' markets. What we found was that we had to be licensed by the county,

I think that the hole drilled in the side of the Norwalk & the thermometer is a dumb idea & not necessary...I would not go for that. And...the Norwalk is the best juicer...or is it the greenstar...oh wait...is it the Omega 8006? I don't know... Maybe buy one of each & rotate their use...

Well...this "desert bird" with 26 + other states feel it is wrong, I guess. Sorry I can't put it as eloquently as "John the Baptist", but I ain't got it in me to talk like that. Not today, anyway. Must be all those years of eating meat, dairy & cooked foods that has clogged up my analytical thinking processes causing me not to see the greatness of this bill & to und

I thought of asking the school secretary if they provide the numbers to the recruiters. I could ask the recruiter again...if he calls...but he could easily lie to me - how would I know? I would really like to have fun spoofing him on a return call, but as I mentioned, I don't want to do anything to draw attention to us.

I imagine they got the number from the school district. They have our numbers on file in case of emergency. Since all govt. entities are in cahoots w/ each other, they all share information. I am waiting for the return phone call...I thought of doing a Jim Florentine spoof, but I believe I will just play it cool & say "no thanks"... Don't wanna raise any flags & draw atten

Does the legislation process actually apply here? I mean, considering the way it was illegally ram-rodded through... I didn't see any true legislative process...just a one-sided bullying maneuver... Oh...but I heard in a recent speech that they now want to listen to what the other side has to say..they want to work together...funny...it wasn't that way in the beginning... sorry, feel fre
