121. the Vedas
I've been thinking for a while about ayurvedas and the likes, the food they prone, etc. Then always the same question keeps coming back to my mind. Why do not they say that raw food is better for one's health? It seems so evident to me.... Vedas (ayurvedas) encourage all kind of cooked (although vegetarian) food, sugar, salt, oil, dairy, etc... my questionning comes from the fact that Vedas

I read the following quote somewhere: "What we think is more important that what we eat". We should trust nature and not worry too much, just doing the best we can. wishing you the best Cynthia

I bought Quantum Eating few months ago. It is one of the best book I read on raw food and raw life. Tonya really is sincere, eager to share what she lives and of course beautiful I look forward to read her new book. A lot of writings from well-known gurus don't ring true to me. Something always sound too "polished", like thet would "pretend" something. I didn't get t

Hi Maxi, I don't eat grains either and I VERY rarely do some sprouting. I do use organic olive oil sparingly on my salads. Good organic first cold pressed oil is not heated so should be Ok from a raw point of view although it is "processed". good luck on your raw journey, Cynthia

I heard our body is supposed to have a "mind" of its own. Now I understand why I crave cauliflower and lemon so much. I enjoy drinking lemon juice straight, I have never enough of it LOL !! Thanks Maxi, suncloud and all others for your experiences and advices. Cynthia

Thank you so much for all your advices. I eat bananas almost everyday. No sunflower seeds though as I have a hard time digesting them. I'll try sesame seeds. Can lemons replace oramges? I eat tons of them. Cynthia

I don't have cramps every single night but it is really bothering, even unfrequently. I read they come out of mineral lacks ( magnesium, sodium, calcium,...). I'd like to do the right thing NOW so the problem does not build up. Any thoughts about what to do? Should I supplement? In the past, I avoided all multivitamins because it would give me stomach pain. I'm 100% raw since 01/01. tha

I bet that guy never tried eting 100% raw for any period of time, maybe out of fear that his brain would shrinked (ha, ha, ha). funny reading, altough it is quite sad (from a scientific point of view).

great thoughts, thanks. I tell myself : eh, cynthia, you have a hard time with fatty foods. Aren't those raw recipes hell for you? That makes me hesitate. Also, I have a hard time with raw onions, garlic, and the likes. my stomach never liked those. A lot of raw recipes have them for zest and taste so, more hesitation on my side. Plus right now I want to simplify. I found attending

Muscle test or kinesiology: I used to have a friend practionner doing it free for me. Well. That's was a while ago. Then I realised that I could get the exact same results in using my pendulum. At first You will need a little practice with it, but you will become free from therapists of all kind. Not that I have anything against them, of course, but I think life is sweetest when one can rel

same questionning for me too. Vedas are supposed to be revealed, not man-made. So why are they advocating cooked food? I'd like to read the early teachings and see by myself. As for the vata aggravating point, my experience is that not all raw regimens are created egal. Some are very vata, other not. We must discriminate

Hi wendy, Please don't forget that you have to find the foods right for YOU. Even if melons are easy to digest, or whatever fruit, that doesn't mean they are so for your stomach. Personnaly, melons disagree with me although I like them very much. I found the best thing is to use the muscle test and check how your body is respondind and that for every single food you put in your mouth.
