-My personal experience / opinion is that you should determine (roughly) what percentage of fresh raw plant food you have been consistently eating and comfortable with right NOW.....and make a plan to simply increase this by 1-2% weekly until you reach your goal. -Do the research & focus on the fruits & vegetables that you LOVE. Don't force yourself to eat stuff you hate. Eat whatever

Opinion: -Think less about a 1 time or short-period detox.....and more about a long term process. Perhaps a process of eating higher and higher quality foods....and simpler eating styles. -On the practical side: The best way to detox in general is by eating lighter, simpler, and less mixed meals.........and by cutting out stimulating spices, salts & oils. -I would combine your techn

Ha! ha! I'm certainly not advocating eating 1 food all day (although I sometimes do it). I'm suggesting that if you wish to know how energetic a food is.......simply do that experiment in your mind. Imagine eating nothing but THAT food for one meal.....or all day.....or all week. -If it's appealing in your mind - then it's a high-energy raw food. -David Mason

Opinion: -I think it is a good idea to think of foods more in the inherent energizigng quality of a single food.....vs how raw it is. It is fairly simple to determine this. -In other words.....if I were to eat THIS food alone.....how long would I feel energized.....how appetizing would it be........and how long could I go just eating this food? How appealing would this ONE food be - if tha

Here's the deal: -Some people's bodies may have become more accustomed to cooked foods than others. But ALL cooked foods come from natural raw foods originally anyway. When a person heats their food - they damage the quality of the protien and nutrients. -Therefore, raw food eaters just cut out the middle-man....and don't settle for second best. Cooked fooders are eating the same stuff any

I also ate one cooked meal a day for a long time. I did it for dinner, but my intuitive sense says that it might be better to do that around lunch-time.....or whenever you are most active and awake. -David Mason

2528. Re: salt
-I can give you MY experience: Salt generally made me feel unpleasant. I transitioned from it....didn't particularly miss it....and haven't eaten it in years. -In my opinion, it's similar to the other issues: B-12, Protien, etc. My opinion is that people run a tremendous risk of death and disease by eating excess protiens and animal products........while diagnosed cases of protien / B-12 (or

Yeah! I hear you. -The watchword for a raw food person is 'Preparedness' and 'Giving'. -It's all about BRINGING food to any occasion where you will need it. -I used to pack a big bag full of pre-cut salad (in a ziploc)...along with fruits, nuts, juice, etc.). I'd just throw the bag in my desk at work....and snack on it as I pleased all day! By the time I came home from work......I had a

Opinion: -Fasting is not all or nothing. It is a spectrum........with tons of heavy and mixed foods (daily) on one end.......with light foods in the middle......and with fresh juices and water on the other end. -I think a single fruit fast....or a juice fast......can be a wonderful addition to one's lifestyle.......especially if one is used to eating heavier / mixed / cooked foods. -I t

-Good advice. Eating simpler (in the form of eating only one thing at a meal...will help you). Also: making smaller changes....only slight (but constant) improvements from where you are at NOW....will make detox symptoms only a minor annoyance. -Drink plenty of pure water when you are not eating. Avoid stimulants, salts, spices and anything else that might be irritating your system. -Keep

The mosquitoes? I tell you: this is mostly dependent on whether you live close to standing water (like a lake or canal). Even so, it is my experience that you can't go TOO many places without running into our little friend the mosquito. They don't seem to bother me much these days. Plus, Florida sprays the hell out them every season now for decades...especially with the whole disease spreading th

-If you must binge - eat only healthy foods....and eat as much as you want. -You will definitely have less food sensitivities with fresh, raw plant food - and many 1000's of kinds of food to choose from. -Work with a level that is right for you - and raw foods that work well for you. -Take the good and leave the rest! -David Mason

-One of the first precepts of the 4 agreements: Don't take anything personally. 99.9% of the screaming some one is doing at you....has NOTHING to do with you! Don't be fooled by emotional children masquerading as adults! -When people cross-examine you...they are really looking to guage your attitude and sense of well-being. Thus, you should simply take pleasure in doing the right thing. Refus

-Why don't you start your own small organic farm? Buy a country property...build your home....and then open up a store in a nearby town? Or sell your produce at your own stand? Heck...its what I'M doing! LOL. -David Mason

-Nope. Transitioned away from that stuff. -Beans & Rice normally have to be cooked to transmute the startches to edible sugars. Beyond that....if if the stuff IS viable...and begins to sprout after soaking.....I wouldn't exactly call it as tasty as a fresh pineapple! Ha! ha! Just my opinion. -You should be able to buy many organic seeds, grains & beans from the sprout people. www.sp

LOL. -I'm partial to Florida. I grew up here (although I went to school in Utah & Idaho). I like the growing options that living in a non-snow zone provides. I find it sunnier, warmer & just more inviting. There are no State income taxes in Florida (or in Texas for that matter). -Housing prices used to be VERY inexpensive in Central Florida........these days I have little advice...

Opinions: -I'm sure there are MANY wonderful people on this board (and sources on the net) that can provide you with all of the exact rules. -A simple way to remember is that things like soft fruit & juice digest very fast (30-60 minutes).....while fibrous vegetables & nuts can take 60 minutes or more. Cooked...mixed....& animal product meals can take many hours to digest fully.

Opinions: I have done A LOT of research into this. Here's the skinny: -Land prices (and housing are STILL very high)....but there are always deals and auctions out there....when you have cash (or credit) in hand! -So: financing aside....you need to decide on a place. First decide if you want to be in America. If you do, then decide if you want to be in a non-snow area.....or if snow is

-There are no raw food police. You've done the research - and now it's your decision to make.......to eat the highest food you think is possible. Should you avoid something you think is good for just because it is not avaialble as organic? My personal opinion is no. -On the practical side, you can wash your conventional produce very carefully. -With Respect, -David Mason

Yes: -Store in an air-tight zip-loc bag in the warmer area of your refrigerator. Plant in mounds of earth in full-sun. Keep the soil moist (but not soaking) for until the plant is well-sprouted....then once a day is fine. Plant 2-3 seeds about 2 inches apart.....and just let the most vigorous grow. -Be prepared to either let the vines grow all over the place......or trellis upward on a tal

-The answer is - yes. You can definitely forgo enemas while fasting....especially for the short times of 1 meal....up to 2-3 days. Beyond that....I do recommend enemas..........but no more than once a day.........and it's better to use the full bag/kit from your local drug store......and use very pure distilled water....rather than tap water or some irritant. -David Mason

Opinion: -I would not fast too much beyond where you have fasted in the past. It's all about consistency. If you are used to fasting NOT AT ALL - then starting with one or two meals is probably a wise suggestion....or sticking to a fruit / juice fast. -Jumping into a miserable experience for some future good is a case of the ends justifying the means..........and positivity, choice & co
