Opinion: -You cannot expect anybody to do anything differently after you hook up. That is rather un-realistic and cruel. It's all about whether you can love them and accept them for who they ARE. There is certainly nothing wrong with providing a good example for change......but you can't expect another to change for you - just because YOU are with them. -Don't hook up with anyone that you

My experience: -In my case, it arose from a sort of natural progression of desiring to research what would be the best food - and how to incorporate it. So at least in my case, there was no person or movement that started it. -David Mason

Hmmm....wheat grain anatomy....been a while! Ha! ha! In my opinion, the best raw diet for me is one composed of fresh raw plant food. And how do I know my food is vital and full of energy? Because it would grow if I planted it. If the stuff does not....then it aint AS vital as other things that I prefer. As such......wheat germ is the bran coating stripped off a wheat berry. It sure won't grow! H

Raw food might cost a little more (if you ate ALL raw)....but it doesn't HAVE to. There are ways to eat rather inexpensively.....and really NONE of the fresh fruits & veggies that I eat personally usually cost more than .99 lb. -The only cooked way to eat cheaper is to eat nothing but rice, pasta & beans! -My spending level is roughly less than what I used to spend on cooked. And no...wheat germ is not raw. The raw form would be raw wheat berries (grains)....soaked and sprouted. -David Mason

-You sound very intelligent! -I think if you have been slowly transitioning over a period of time....and you have done all the research....then you should move forward with what YOU think is right. ANY age is a good one to follow your dreams! -Stick to the fruits and vegetables that you love....and set small goals to increase your percentage of all-raw by 1-2% per week beyond where you are

-I hear you. Even people that have been all raw for years (as I have) still have to deal with the same issues YOU do....(that is if they are continuing to improve their diet...which I am). -You are certainly asking the right questions! The addictions counselors say: You can NEVER get enough of what you DON'T want. So if you are eating to cover some other deficiency...you will NEVER be full. T

-Congratualtions on your decision! -Remember that you don't have to forsake anything....simply move forward positively toward what YOU have researched/determined to be a better diet. Set very small, long-term goals and keep them. -If finding room in the fridge is difficult....buy a separate cooler and keep elsewhere......or buy a cheap used refrigerator ($50 - 100 in the classifieds). -

-You are young - but not too young to do the research & make some decisions. Although I personally do not eat meat (raw or otherwise!) - I would encourage YOU to find out what you think.....and try to follow through on it as much as possible. -David Mason

-As with other diseases...the paradigm is that a good diet sets the stage and eliminates barriers so that the body can be in the state it WANTS to be in - a state of health. Eliminating 'other' wants - conscious or subconscious is what we are all about. On the practical side, you can set the stage by utilizing: Opinion: -All you can do is what you can do: set the stage for healing.

Opinion: -All you can do is what you can do: set the stage for healing. -Cooking damages the food you eat - so avoiding it as much as possible will certainly speed your recovery. As will: 1) Fresh air 2) Intelligent sunlight 3) Light exercise 4) Simpler eating 5) Pure water 6) Joyful work 7) Service to others 8) Acceptance -David Mason

-There are many varieties of fruits and vegetables out there. Your best bet is to be honest about the level of raw food that you ARE comfortable with now....and simply set small goals to stretch and increase 1-2% per week. Eventually you'll achieve escape velocity. -A basic shopping list would include plenty of greens & fresh veggies for salads....a wide selection of your favorite raw nut

-No need to 'get around' it......as long as you START at the level that you ARE comfortable with now....and set small goals....to increase 1-2% per week.....you won't notice much of a change....but your body will! -One step ahead of where YOU are comfortable with is the journey to take. -David Mason

Jan: -I understand what you mean. Of course, I rinse produce thoroughly. Are you already high percentage raw? If so, I think it's great that you are looking for ways to refine your diet....if not....I think just increasing your percentage can be the priority. -There ARE lists available that detail those fruits / vegetables that are the most heavily sprayed. -There are probably a lot of

I CAN give you my experience: -I have eaten nothing but fruit for several years now. I am happier and healthier than I have ever been. -I must say, however, that it was a transitional process for me....one that gradually evolved over several years. -I know that myself or several of the other wonderful folks on this board would be more than happy to share their experiences with you! -

Opinion: Organic vs. Inorganic should not be a factor that stops a person from the primary goal of eating a higher percentage of raw. -I have been all raw for many years - and very rarely eaten organic produce. I think your story is wonderful and inspiring. It is a microcosm of the sort of 'temptation' and social temptation that people face every day! You really have to be aware of what you want. -It's like work....is it ok to accept less.....to do a worse job....just because no one is looking.....or no one REQUIRES you to do a better job? -This is the kind of small personal decision that no one

Yes. 3-5 times per day. About 16-32 oz per meal. Fasts can be as short as one meal.....one day......or 3 days is a good round figure. -Fasts are more powerful when they are short......but a regular part of your life. -Just my opinion. -David Mason

Question: -Why do you have to have a deficiency to lose your hair? If you've eaten poorly in the recent past....and switch to healthier lifestyles.....then your body might dump old matter into your system for elimination. These old oils and other matter may cause temporary hair loss. -This is just my opinion. -David Mason

-I agree that it is a slight shift in paradigm. The idea that the human body is not a sinking ship that needs constant plugging with a wide variety of temporary fixes. -But more so than that.....I'm looking to provide a method whereby a person can get answers from their intuitive self......believe them....and not ignore them.......about what are the high-quality foods that are right for them.
