This is all very inspiring to stick with a raw path for REAL. I think there a lot of excuses I can make as to why I don't do it. I don't know why I haven't gone long periods without bingeing on vegan food, but regardless I keep a pretty clean diet and I know that if something like this is so important to me and I spend all of my free time reading about it, than it will most likely be a permanant

Sounds like a poor assumption to make for all of humanity. Undercarbedness? I think the best time to eat is when we are hungry.

CR isn't just another form of anorexia, sorry. Talk to an anorexic and talk to Tonya Zavasta, someone who clearly practices CR correctly. You'll see a very striking difference in mentality, motivation, and knowledge. It doesn't mean cutting down your intake to 700 calories of packaged food. Haven't you noticed that you need less highly nutritionally dense food the longer you've been eating it? Pe

80/10/10 to me is eat all the fruit and greens you want, and keep your fat intake at 10% or less. Fruit makes up the 80%/carb part. Keeping a log of your food on fitday.com will tell you what nutrients and percentages you're getting. If you google food combining it should direct you to some simple charts. I always try to eat fruit alone because it digests very fast and eating it after eating fat

I love her. She might be my favorite famous raw foodist. I love her background in science, I love how kind she is, I love how much of a living testament she is and how she makes CRON sound so accessible and even appealing. I know when I overeat I'm really damaging my body because I can feel it, and I know when I eat raw foods I feel great, I could go on and on about it. I'm using my non school

At least 60% raw since mid Jan, usually higher. Longest raw streak was 8 days haha. I live in PHILLY!

Spinach, water, banana, mango and some ground flax seeds is similar to what I usually make. Try something like that because it will be creamy and you'll taste fruit not greens.

I like your point Horsea. I looked it up a little. This website has some interesting information. Is Kosher Food Really Safer? China to increase kosher food exports: -to counter attacks for substandard and unsafe products -most large U.S. food companies require kosher ingredients -kosher symbol seen as a huge marketing advantage -quality assurance, kosher supervisors are watching w

That's what's so fascinating about life to me. Some people can smoke Marb Reds for 50 years and escape lung cancer, or at least not die or suffer from it. Some people get lung cancer who have never smoked a single cigarette. That's definitely not an argument for abusing your body, but basically there's no guarantees to anything. Prevention is very wise, and I think a lot of us on here are doing r

These are the kinds of things that really freak me out about this country. I can't even think about it because I personally can't reach these people, not like my opinion would matter. So many people living in darkness... maybe I'll just start a punk band and sing about all the conspiracies to make myself feel better.

I'm from CT originally, but I attend college in PA. There's a raw restaurant in Fairfield that I know of. Also look up raw meeting websites, I guess Google them, and type in CT. Hope that helped.

Not to knock any choices, but my opinion of the Master Cleanse is that it's just an unhealthy way to jumpstart a healthy diet. I know the feeling of needing to clean out, but fruits, vegetables, and water do the same just fine. For a more cleansing effect, drink juices or go a day on just water (while resting), but I don't see how salt water, pepper, maple syrup and water could possibly do any be

Congrats! I also suffer from depression and bipolar and when I stick to a raw diet I become very calm and laidback, more even and optimistic too. Good luck and in times of doubt, remember the reasons for which you're starting! I fell off the bandwagon HARD and often, but when I remember that I want mental clarity it's easier to stick to this lifestyle.

Lots of Chinese Kosher Vegetarian restaurants in my city seem to think that to appeal to omnivores they must deep fry EVERYTHING. It's disgusting. I'm grossed out I ate those things, fried food is disgusting. It's not really food.

I seem to have forgotten how to eat like a normal person. I eat breakfast almost every single day and it's always a smoothie with organic greens, water, ground flax, a banana and maybe one other type of fruit. Other than that I would graze on fruit throughout the day. I don't really know how to eat like a normal person anymore and it sucks. I don't know why I'm posting in this thread but I would

Smell evokes the strongest memories and emotions out of me, so I'm with you on that. The way Dunkin' Donuts or fried foods smell all make me think about how good they taste and who I enjoyed eating them with, but the health problems those people are enjoying are so not worth having some myself. I can't believe I used to eat things like fried vegan cheesecake... so far from real food and so disgus

It will definitely come. Everytime I go back to binging and eating crappy (cooked) food, I feel sluggish for a few days when I eat raw again, then gradually I get my energy back. I notice the change in my sleep the most. When I wake up tired I know I'm doing something wrong, and when I wake up before my alarm, I'm most likely eating raw. I feel very rested. It's worth it though, keep going, you'r

Congratualtions for being willing to make a change. The human mind and body are so powerful together, they can really accomplish anything. You absolutley have it in you to do this, and in a week or two when you start to feel better, you'll never believe you went through life feeling this way. You really won't know how bad this was until you feel your best. I can't comment on your symptoms, bu

Look for other boards! They exist! Many members on here also use other boards for similar and different reasons. Can't help you with the feelings thing, I don't know enough about you. What have you been eating on a day to day basis? Do you have greens in your diet at all? Nuts can be 100% raw but if that's mostly what you eat, you might gain weight. Can you give more information like when you started eating raw? I can't tell you what I "think" you're doing wrong based on a lack of information. If you're not drinking green smoothies every morning try adding that to yo

Sorry, I don't mean to be coming at you. I understand what you mean. I always thought eating too many bananas wasn't great, probably because that means I'm not eating a variety.

I hope you don't mean that in a negative way, no one should be here to attack anyone's diet or comment on it. If that's your opinion you should phrase it more nicely or just keep it to yourself.

The kind from Trader Joe's I have tastes like chemicals and repulses me. Besides, why would I need to sweeten any of my food? It's just an unnecessary thing in my diet. Interesting article although I think the way the author looks at honey, purely for fructose content, is silly.

How many greens do you consume in a day? In a week? Greens=energy for me. Making a green smoothie every morning for about three months has greatly improved the quality of my sleep and made me almost jump out of bed in the morning. That in conjunction with everything else raw I ate gave me that energy, and I noticed it in how improved my stamina was when I bike, too. Green smoothies are the ea

So I did a day long water fast yesterday and it was great. I noticed false hunger and I felt much more collected. Unfortunately I felt weak and spacey today, and I use my bike for transportation and need brain power to concentrate on my studies so I had an apple. Somehow I ended up bingeing again. I wasn't even high or anything. I think I was trying to distract myself from homework. It sucks.

Yes, my biology books and the theory of evolution. If one believes that everything that ever lived evolved from a common ancestor, plants were around before animals, and we are animals, and algae was around before land plants, so... Certain shared characteristics between algae and land plants make it very likely that they are close relatives.

How is she a doctor yet she doesn't believe enzymes are in food. First of all, humans evolved from plants. Second, plants evolved from cyanobacteria. Bacteria have enzymes. All life has enzymes. I wouldn't listen to her. Maybe making smoothies would be a better option for more fiber, but maybe she's just scared that your diet won't be feeding her paycheck because she won't need to write you p
