My dog is 5 years old now and has been raw from conception. She is mostly a raw meat eater though with some fruit and veg. For financial reasons she was eating mostly non-organic chicken, bones and meat. She seemed to be doing well on this until she got an ear infection which would not clear up even with as a last resort antibiotics until I started feeding her organic meat. On organic

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well. I haven't had time to visit this forum for ages but I'm on holiday in England right now and spending some time browsing old posts and couldn't resist this one as Amsterdam is where I come from. Great to hear that you enjoyed Amsterdam Lisa. I now have my own raw stall on the organic farmers market on Saturday, I would have loved meeting you there.

Dear friends in the raw lifestyle, I have not been contributing to this forum for over a year now although I try to keep up with everything you are up to by having a quick read now and again. I have been busy spreading the word about raw in The Netherlands, which is where I live. An independent documentary maker made a documentary about my youngest son, Tom, which was shown on national te

Does anyone know what is the best way to cut or slice up tomatoes for drying in the dehydrator? I looked at the sundried tomatoes I buy in the shop and they look like they were quartered with the juicy stuff and seeds taken out. Thanks, Frannie

I don't understand what your objection is arora. Surely it is a good thing if mainstream people support and sell raw products. Wouldn't it be a good thing if raw became mainstream? Francis

I try to buy secondhand as much as I can as well. I think it's kinder to the environment as well as good for your bank balance. Also, since becoming more sensitive on a raw diet, I can't stand shopping malls and shopping centers anymore. Somehow the energy is all wrong. My kids were already vaccinated when I finally started researching things like that. I didn't know there was a downside to i

Mocha, I saw your new pictures and noticed that, despite the big quantities of fruit you eat, you're still skinny. I hope you're not worried about this. I know you've not been eating raw for very long and unfortunately this skinny phase is something most of us have to go through when we first start eating raw. It's what F1 is referring to when he says that this is a total body over haul. Once you

Hi Gadjoemi, The Boerenmarkt is at the Noordermarkt in Amsterdam at the junction of Westerstraat and Prinsengracht, Saturdays 9:00 - 16:00. I just heard from Diana and she will be there tomorrow. You'll find her stall quite easily, it's the one with all the wheatgrass trays. You can tell her I sent you and ask her where to get young coconuts and durian if you like them. They're sold quite clos

Thanks crystalbat and Anna. The food on those sites looks really good. I think I will have to go for catering as the only restaurant I've found that does raw food doesn't look very promising. Has either one of you been to VitaOrganic in Wardour Street? Do you know what the raw food is like there? I like your before and after pictures Anna Francis

Basia, did yoU tRy INcrEdable THERAPY (this is a riddle, you have to find the U word which I've hidden so Bryan won't see it There is a thread about it on OTHER HEALTH RELATED. I'm treating my dog's ear for ear mite with it (not suggesting you've got ear mite) and it seems to be doing the trick. Just put a few drops in your ear a few times a day. Good luck, Francis

Hi Gadjoemi, I'm not sure if Diana will be at the market with her stall tomorrow because she's going to Hungary for two weeks. I just sent her an email to find out for you. I will leave a message here for you tonight to let you know. I'm in England till the end of August and the next chocolate party will be in the beginning of September. If you send me your email address I will let you know

I thought of you this morning Betty as I was squeezing fresh orange juice for myself and the kids. Orange juice is their favorite way of starting the day, followed by a smoothie. Does Franky like orange juice? I'm not sure if they have home schooling programs online in the Netherlands. But my eldest is going to college in September, he wants to work with horses. And my youngest has two years

Hi Guys, I know there are a couple of UK based people on this board and I wondered if you could help me out. I have a business meeting coming up in London on the 7th of August to discuss the viability of a raw venture I'm working on. The two guys I'm meeting with suggested doing so over lunch and I would like to impress them with a raw lunch. I know there used to be a raw restaurant in Prim

Hi Kat, Welcome to this board. That's great that you're coming back to raw and I'm sure it will be the best thing for your babies and yourself. I can't offer you many words of wisdom on transitioning whilst pregnant as my youngest was five when we went raw and I don't know if there are any people on this board right now with that kind of information. Did you have look at ? This website belongs

Me too!! I love my greenstar too and I did loads of research before I decided it was the one for me. I used it every day, almost non-stop when I first went raw. I was juicing all day long. The first raw books I was introduced to were the books by Dr.Norman Walker and I was following his recipes for juices. My juicing schedule looked something like this: A.M. oranges juice followed by carrot

Hi gadjoemi, I live in the Netherlands as well. I live in Amsterdam, where are you? Amsterdam has a great organic market on Saturday, maybe you already know it. It's called the Boerenmarkt and it's in the Jordaan. There is a wheatgrass stall on this market, run by a girl called Diana Store. She sells wheatgrass juice, raw cakes and superfoods and also hemp seeds and hemp oil and lots of other st

This is what I learned from The 80/10/10 Diet by Doug Graham: currently, two fatty acids are thought to be essential: alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (L), also called omega-3 and omega-6.Twelve different fatty acids are made from ALA and LA and all of the fatty acids that stem from these are classified as omega-3 and omega-6. So not all omega-3 and 6 are essential. Only the polyun

Ha ha Betty, I suppose that does count as progress If he likes fruit, why don't you try making him just a fruit smoothie, without the nut milk, agave and hemp seed powder. Bananas and strawberries are so sweet they don't really need extra sweetening and it tastes more light and refreshing that way. With the nut milk and agave it probably becomes quite overly sweet and heavy. How about making

No, I don't have a blog. I've only recently started to feel that my experiences (with raw) might be of some benefit to other people just beginning. So I have started posting on this board although I have been an avid reader here for the last three years and have learned a lot from it. I will post a photo on the pictures of me thread when I get back home at the end of August. I know this mig

I'm totally sold on it. I drink it and it tastes fine. When your diet is super clean it's like drinking water. I can always tell from my first urine in the morning if what I'm eating is causing any cleansing reaction. I also use it topically and it's nothing short of miraculous. I use it as a skin lotion, and on cuts and bruises. My youngest had a huge wart on his toe a while ago and I put a

Gosia, I realized that it was very short notice so I didn't really expect it to happen. Still, it would have been lovely to see you, you were so close. I'm glad you enjoyed the smoothies. My kids love those as well, it makes them feel "normal" because they can buy something in the supermarket that isn't a piece of fruit or veggies. I am back to eating no fat for three days and then

Hi Katie Cows milk is for little cows. It has all the vitamins and minerals in the right proportion that a calf needs to grow into a big cow but in humans it creates a lot of mucus and it's not easily digested. In my opinion she will be much better off without the cows milk. And, again in my opinion, our natural food after breast milk is fruit so I would give her lots of that and fruit smoothi

Hi Betty, I hope you and I won't be fighting over the same guy I suppose we could share him. I'm pretty sure you'll have your son transitioned unto raw in no time. From reading your other posts you seem to be very good at making the kind of raw food that will have him eating raw without missing cooked food. It's eating raw at school that seems to be the hardest bit. Francis
