Day 15 (29 March):
Watermelon, grapes, bananas, mixed salad, double greens salad.

Fat intake: overt fats - 2 tablespoons of tahini.

I am feeling like having lots of greens today. I've been wondering about trying my greens without the fat. Green smoothie perhaps? Maybe I'll try tomorrow?

Warm regards to all,
Gosia.

True true...but, I have binged on them a couple of times (I unfortunately have a big bag of them in my pantry) and every time, felt sick, dehydrated and bloated for a whole day afterwards. So I did thankfully make an effort to stay away from them tonight because of my personal struggle with them, and I feel better now. smiling smiley

well, they are dried, and of course concentrated, so that will cause the deydration/bloating etc... my suspicion is that they combine better after with a meal of juicy fruit then nuts/seeds or dried sweet fruit. and also have less fat/quick sugars. I ate a huge ammount which caused distress for sure, not so much pain, but gas which I havn't experienced in a long time. I think eating 2 oz is probably too much actually but to me they still qualify as a far more healthful food than non-fresh foods or poorly combined fresh foods. not saying i'm gonna make a habit of eating them, glad I bought my .6 lb package, I enjoyed it.

Agreed...just don't make a mistake like me and buy several pounds at a time ...especially, if like me, you have a problem with self control sometimes. smiling smiley If I had been smart and just bought a few oz at a time I probably would have been fine. But at least it kept me raw at a time when I really wanted to fall off the bandwagon! smiling smiley

Food:
Breakfast: None
Lunch: 8 large bananas
Dinner: 1 cucumber, 10 oz grape tomatoes, 4 Marrs oranges. I badly wanted either pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes or dates, but I knew I wouldn't be able to eat those moderately if I caved in, so I resisted and the juicy oranges really helped.

Try www.nutritiondata.com or www.fitday.com or there's something called a cron-o-meter (I think this is the way to write it) which you don't need to be online to use. You can download it and it'll just be on your computer. I haven't tried it. I suppose there are others but these are the only ones I remember seeing on this board so they're the only ones I know of. I like nutritiondata much better than fitday because there's so much more information. But arugula mentioned a reason for prefering the cron-o-meter. Something like nutritiondata had sold out to somebody. I think it was something like that.

Dinner: 6 Marrs oranges, 2 romaine hearts, 5 medium tomatoes and juice of one lemon (squeezed over the romaine and tomatoes).

I think I've broken through the pine nut thing! Yippee. I also finished my entire dinner by 8pm, which may seem late to some of you but I've been having trouble with eating late, so 8pm is great for me.

Day 16 (30 March):
Watermelon, grapes, bananas, greens, grapes.

Fat intake: no overt fats.

Today I tried having greens without any dressing. I loved it! I chewed on a big bunch of mixed baby greens. It was yum, better than with tahini.

Day 17 (31 March):
2 glasses of banana smoothis (gee, that was filling, my kids have that every morning), black Muscatel grapes, 750 g strawberries, a few honey dew melons, baby big bunch of greens greens (just like that), green date lollies (dates wrapped in bunches of greens leaves), grapes.

Fat intake: no overt fats.

Today I took some photos of my body. I need sime time to upload them!

Gosia, I feel better when I don't do overt fats...how do you feel?

Today was interesting for me, went to an SAD bday party for a 2 yr old...I'm sure people wondered why my family was either not eating, or eating dates, bananas and small plates of wilted lettuce and no-taste tomato slices from the "sandwich fixin's" buffet...but we didn't say anything about it and nobody asked.

Then I started to do a banana monomeal lunch but realized after I started that I was out of ripe-enough bananas. Urgh.

Food:
Breakfast: None
Lunch: 2 ripe bananas, 1 almost ripe but not quite banana sad smiley, 20 dates, 1/2 head celery.
Dinner: Salad of about 6 oz romaine, 4-6 medium tomatoes (lost count), a few cucumber slices and some red bell pepper with lemon juice drizzled over it, followed 3 hours later by 1/2 an amazing watermelon.

Usually I would have started off w/ the watermelon but it just didn't work out that way tonight. I was really craving the sweet carbs by the time I finally sat down and ate my dinner fruit though! Watermelon is SOOO great when you're starving.

I'm thinking of mono mealing on watermelon for a few days. Waffling a little between watermelon and banana. We'll see.

Sarah, I was kinda scared of not eating overt fats at all ha ha. I thought that I would NEVER be able to do it. How could I survive without them, I thought. I though that I would crave cooked foods with fat. But nah, none of that! I tried, and as you said it does feel good. So, I am venturing now to try some more of the good stuff that makes me feel good. I want to try and see, with my own body, whether I like it in the longer term. I have been hearing from others how good it feels, but did not really believed that I could ever like it myself. But I do!

9am; one honeygold grapefruit, two bananas

12pm: seven small oranges

3pm: four small oranges, one head of romaine lettuce

6pm: two small oranges

I'm only eating one spoonful of fat twice a week now, and it feels so good. I used to have bad reactions to citrus, but now I love their hydration and sweetness, and it is so easy to just have a salad of spinach, celery, and red sweet peppers without dressing.

Gosia, I've done a high fat raw diet in the past (I know you haven't eaten high fat for a long time now) and I was afraid this time to let go of the overt fats too, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how relatively easy it is when I get in the groove, and how much better I feel overall. I'm glad you're feeling good too. And you should definitely post those pics! Also, all your talk about watermelon has got me craving watermelon like crazy. smiling smiley

Food:
Breakfast: None
Brunch: Watermelon - almost 1/2 of one.
Snack: cucumber-tomato "sandwiches", from about 2-3 medium tomatoes and 1 cucumber.
Dinner: Another 1/2 of a watermelon, eaten about 3.5 hrs after the snack.

Hello everyone!

I'm jumping in on this thread a little late here, I hope that's okay!

I always eat high fruit without overt fat (well, for the past year and a half). I'm on a forced rest due to adrenal fatigue, so unfortunately I'm not allowed to exercise right now.

April 1
A.M. 10 bananas blended
P.M. salad (lettuce, basil, tomato, celery, carrots, cauliflower, red peppers)
about 6 more bananas

April 2
A.M. about 9 or 10 bananas blended - these weren't organic - the grocery store was out of organic ones.
Planning on having a salad with less ingredients tonight, maybe just lettuce, tomato and celery
Then - Probably some more bananas if I'm hungry.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Mocah!

You asked: "Does taking in the bee pollen and calmag in the morning not make me raw?"
I would say that the bee pollen doesn't make you vegan, and I don't know if it's raw. I'm not sure what calmag is. I don't think it's necessary. I just stick to the basic fruits and veggies, and I feel that I get all that I need.

You also asked: "Also what else do some of you do for salad dressing that supplies your Omegas?"
Again, I don't worry about getting Omegas. I don't eat certain foods for certain nutrients. Check out www.foodnsport.com For a salad dressing, I blend tomatoes with celery. Yummm. Or I blend tomatoes with mangos. These make great fat free dressings.

Best of luck to you. Tammy

hmmm bee spit and pollen ...while not vegan ..unless the bees are cooking it somehow im guessing its raw still hehe

Pollen is the male seed of flowers, created in the stamen within the blossom of the plant.

Honeybees collect the pollen and during the collection process it is combined with secretions from the bee, as it is worked from the stamen of the plant. The bee uses it's tongue and mandibles to collect the pollen, it then brushes the pollen from around it's mouth area using it's forelegs and moves the now sticky substance towards it's second pair of legs. The worker bee assembles a mass of pollen, all of which has been mixed with the bee secretion and moved to storage on the bees body and legs. When the bee has collected sufficient pollen it returns to the beehive to deposit the load.

Day 19 (2 April):
black Muscatel grapes, watermelon, baby spinach (yummo!), bananas.

Fat intake: no overt fats.

Observations: Yesterday Luke noticed that I smelled beautifully. Today, I am stinky again. I wonder. The last two days I had no overt fats. Then last night, I had some thawed frozen-peas. Would this account for my stinky breath, or is this just part of the detox that I am going through? I noticed a slight headache as well, which is something that I experience once in how many years? Also, I have been wondering what contribution could have had me eating some tahini earlier on. There is no other way to find out but to stick to avoid peas and tahini for a while, and see what happens.
