ooo, yeah I munch on that one already, didnt know its name, but a Tolowa friend of mine showed it to me, I actually really like it. Edit: although its actually not very common up here, its more common down near sacramento where she originally showed it to me when I was visiting, so I harvest a ton of it whenever I go down that direction...

2793. Re: Honey?
ah, thanks for all the information people, I did state on entering here I was completely new to raw food as a lifestyle as i had never heard of it till recently, even though ive been eating mostly raw for most of my life, I had no idea it was vegan as every source ive found till now has seemed fine with occasional animal product consumption... so thats good to know, although I doubt i could ever

2794. Re: Honey?
yeah, I didnt eat honey for years and years when i was younger cause of the whole bee vomit thing, but I considered some of the seriously more disgusting things that humans do on a daily basis, and decided it wasnt so bad...especially considering all the health benefits of raw honey... raw is anti animal products? I didnt know that, in fact its the first ive heard of it... ive got a couple DVD's

hmmm, found only one in search having to do with honey other than my own(Bees disappearing?), all of the apiaries ive been in contact with seem to fall within the category of "ethical" by the standards that seem to bee put forth by those commenting within that thread, odd thing is every one I know of that does take their bees to different orchards for pollination dont do it to make mone

hmmm, weird, I mean, ive known half a dozen people that run apiaries, and I didnt see anything cruel to the bees, I'll search for some other stuff on the forum...and see what others have said in the past.

2797. Honey?
I recognize that a majority of people on here are vegan, and Id like to hear their opinions of honey, both moral and health related, I DONT want to start any arguments or anything, just want to hear some opinions, also want opinions from those who arent vegan... I personally love raw honey... and consider it, out of all animal products in existence, the only one thats pretty friendly to the creat

Yeah, I liked that line allot too, that movie was really wonderful for me, cause ive never been very good at explaining my general outlook on life, and its seemed throughout my life that nobody could really understand what I was trying to say, then I see a movie (adapted from a book), where the writer obviously looks at some things in a similar way to how i do...and it was pretty cool...

yeah, teaching kids to question things wont get them far within mainstream society, but it will lead to them being able to be happier later on in life, our school system really doesn't work well for kids who question things, the more inquisitive and creative you are the more trouble you get in with most of your teachers, and the more the kids tend to give you crap... I had to deal with that allot

dang, yeah I currently have an area of about 5x5 and its in full shade all day... when i was a kid, we had 3/4 of an acre, and 3 tiny little garden beds that where like 5x8 and one my mom wanted filled with wild flowers, the other with strawberries, and the third I could do with what I want, I was always trying to convince them to let me turn the rest of the property into raised garden beds,lol..

ah, I personally believe that education is primarily the responsibility of the parent, and the school system should be there to help educate the child, unfortunately most parents arent willing to take that active of a roll, and the education system is set up just to teach you the few "facts" they want you to know, and the way they want yo uto think, rather than teaching kids how to lear

ROFLMAO testoster-zone... that is great...lol... Ive never quite believed in the whole testosterone leads to more violent/aggressive behavior thing though, I naturally have abnormally high levels of testosterone, and ive always been a really mellow, un-aggressive person, I think it may play a part, but as a whole, i think there are allot deeper psychological issues that cause people to behave in

Wow jodi! those are awesome!!! I have to say, you find some pretty awesome stuff!!! and whats really cool is these would be REALLY easy to make yourself! its a similar concept to this hanging basket I made for my mom for mothers day, I made a globe of chicken wire, lined with a pretty threadbare burlap bag, filled with dirt and compost, then I planted a bunch of her favorite plants and flowers in

wow, those are some cool sites for getting ideas off of, the second one seems to show the easiest from what I can see to build at home, plus it would be extremely cheap and easy to build yourself, their sprouting systems seem really similar to what im planning on building when I get a new job... I almost forgot, take a page from the hydroponics system of marijuana growers, good drainage, get

Im not entirely sure about butternut squash soup raw, it can probably be done... I know with cooked butternut squash soup, heavy cream and a little bit of rosemary are a must... im not sure that would work out to well in a blender if making raw soup though, at least not the heavy cream... maybe blended into smoothies? its sweetness could probably help allot, or if one wanted something that tastes

I could see how most people wouldn't like it, bit Ive always been a weird kid...I mean, I grew various (legal)fungi in my bedroom as a child,lol...till I got caught,lol...then I got in trouble... it seems like it would be really interesting to me, however seems rather prohibitively expensive to me just to watch worms and bugs make compost...
