Mocha...you inpsire me. It's Wed. and my fat intake continues to be too high. Yesterday I was 73c / 11p / 17f. I took in 1447 calories - 311 from exercise = 1136 calories with no change in my weight. Today I am vowing to do better. I need to go to the market. For breakfast this mroning I had 6 cups of water melon. So far that is all I have had and I was shocked to find out that there was 12% fat

I'm still struggling with vegetables. Before going raw, I would smather my veggies with salt and butter to hide the veggie taste. I have just never liked them. I get my greens in my putting them in a smoothie and if I put in enough banana, I don't taste them. Thank God for all the beautiful fruits he gave us!I don't know what I'd do without fruit. I agree with everyone else in that your taste bu

I have a cheap blender which works great and I use daily. I have an expensive juicer that I only use for juicing, which I use less of the time. Years ago I had a cheap juicer and it was okay, but a pain to clean and more pulp than juice. I would say, try and determine which you need and will use more of. Personally, I think the blender is more practical (I love my smoothies)...and although I can

I just bought some ripe fruit last evening at the market and low and behold I woke up to a swarm of fruit flies. Where do these things come from and how to you get rid of / prevent them? I'm all into preserving life and all...but I don't want bugs in my kitchen! HELP PELASE!

Those fruit look awesome...although I couldn't even begin to tell you what they are! It felt good to be more balanced yesterday. My percentages ended up being closer in range at 80c/13f/8p and I lost one pound of the two I gained over the weekend due to unplanned deviations and moments of weakness. My most current challenge continues to be eating out. We seem to do it ALOT! I'm learning to as

Hi QP, I am about 6 weeks raw. I started with a Black and Decker blender from Wal-Mart. It didn't cost much and when it dies, hopefully I can get a Vita-mix...but its done great. To get around juicing greens, I pop my greens in the freezer. Then I can crumble them and put them into a smoothie. When water is added, they break right up. I usually have a smoothie with greens for breakfast (you ca

I did the MC while I was off and at home. This allowed the bathroom to be accessible, which was absolutely vital! The MC is good, but it can interrupt your schedule a bit and you don't get much of a warning when things are going to release! While I was cleansing, I didn't get any really bad detox and never really felt tired. I continued with my regular exercise schedule, walking 5 miles a day. My

I love how this thread starts out asking about what foods are great for your hair...and ends up with all of us wanting to know some secret about a raw polygamist who dislikes white people. Go figure.... So now, I want to know too...not about hair, but about the Kwatanami guy!

Emilym & Mocha...glad you both checked in. I enjoy reading your posts and I didn't want to bore anyone with my own postings if i was going to be the only one. I had a really busy weekend and had to eat out more than I would have liked. All in all, I din't do too badly, however my 80/10/10 was more like 70/20/10. Glad its Monday and back on a routine. I'm anticipating a good week and hope

I've been reading about the wonderful benefits of goji berries so I bought some only to realize I don't really have a recipe for using them, other than to throw them into a smoothie. Then I found that they are not listed on fitday.com. So... 1) I was wondering how you guys use them and if anyone would share their favorite recipes 2) Does anyone have the nutritional breakdown? Thanks!

Thanks Prism...I also read somewhere that you can soak a mint leaf in 1 c of apple cider vinegar and make a toner with that. I got a mint plant at the farmer's market yesterday so I'm going to try that.

Week 2 / Day 2 Well I had an interesting problem yesterday...one that I have NEVER had before. I couldn't eat enough food! It started because my schedule got off and I ended up eating a really late lunch. Then I wasn't hungry when it was dinner time. I didn't really get hungry until about 8:30 last night, so I ate. Not only did I not get in enough calories, I was MISERABLE. My dinner sat in my

Hi Peisi, I have done a little circuit training before, although I am not doing it now. You basically do one set (of how ever many reps / weight) on one muscle group and then you go to the next one, etc. until you have completed the "circuit". For instance, if you are using machines, do one set on machine one, then one set on machine two...until you have done all the machines you w

Prism, I just found a link to your aromatherapy stuff. Do you have a store or just sell online? How much coconut oil do you use? Do you leave it on???...rub it in???...wash it off??? I just got some stuff today to try that is based in aloe vera...we'll see what happens. There are TOO MANY CHOICES OUT THERE!

I went to the Farmer's Market today and bought some Pluots. I had never heard of them before. In case you haven't either...they are 2/3 plum and 1/3 apriot. Well...Fitday.com doesn't have them in their database so I'm guessing I should calculate them like a plum since they are about the same size. Any thought? They sure were good...and now they're GONE!

Fitday.com is a life saver...and it takes all the guess work out of eating, allowing you to make choices. I can't have everything I want everyday, so I pick and choose. I read in the 80-10-10 book that an estimate of the calories you need per day (to maintain) is your weight X 10 (124 lbs x 10 = 1240 calories per day). Without any exercise at all, you would need to reduce your caloric intake in

I know how many calories I need to eat in order to lose the weight I want...then I will consume for calories to maintain.
