powerlifer, it had to do with the mechanism at the bottom of the jar. I can't remember exactly, because I had a similar problem with my l'Equip blender, and I am getting the two mixed up. But I think the shaft or seal may have broken.

Mine had the 3 year warranty. My jar did break after the warranty expired. But I still love the blender, and I would buy another one if this one quits working.

I bought my Blendtec Total in May 2006, it was $340 at the time. I love this blender, it can blend anything that I've thrown at it. The newer models have improvements in the user interface - there are more options available without having to program the blender. The main program I use is the smoothie program - it starts out slow, pulses a bit, then accelerates, then goes really fast at the end

While I agree that fasting will probably make the cyst disappear, unless permanent lifestyle changes are made, starting with a clean raw diet, the cyst will come back. Here is a great article that describes some of the drawback of fasting: Fasting: A Dangerous Game. An alternative to fasting would be to make the permanent lifestyle change, and the cyst ought to disappear by itself. This may ta

dudess, Before I went raw, I was heavily dependent on coffee to live my life. When I quit coffee, I had so little energy that I couldn't function. At the time, I saw this as a really bad thing. Now, given my experiences, I realize it was just my body trying to heal itself. So because I was so fatigued, I started raw foods, and in the beginning this caused my coffee-detox induced fatigue

coco, I don't know that I get enough, as I haven't had a blood test recently. I think it may be time to get one, but I don't have health insurance, so its going to come out of my own pocket. But I feel healthy, and I get plenty of sun in the summer time (I work outdoors, and I am in the hot sun all day during the summer). I currently don't supplement, but I have not noticed any kind of bone fragi

ch'an, some of the things that Clements share is in direct conflict with my over 9 years of personal experience eating all raw foods. Should I listen to a man whose raw diet requires that I eat cooked foods to be nourished, or should I listen to my personal experience of a diet that allows me to thrive on an all raw diet? Also, his dietary recommendations are such that major supplementation (I

Good luck Curator. In my experience, it take a pretty committed, earnest, and sincere person to succeed on something as huge as the raw foods diet. If a person doesn't have these qualities, odds are they will give up at the first sign of trouble or discomfort. If you lose the bet, and end up eating the animal products, you'll live. I would never make a bet like that for myself, as I don't bel

QuoteAlmost 40% of the U.S. population is deficient in vitamin B12 according to a recent study from Tufts University in Boston and a vast majority of them are completely unaware. The number of vegans has got to be under 1% of the US population, so that means quite a few meat eaters are deficient in B12, even with ample B12 in their diets. Also remember that lots of processed foods (like bread)

Welcome to the forum Marci. So right now you are sick, and you don't feel like eating, perhaps even the thought of food is making you nauseous. So your body is telling you not to eat, so don't eat any more than your body is asking for. In a few days this detox will pass, and your appetite will return, at which point start eating some clean raw fruit and salads. Some people transition better

The active stimulating ingredient in garlic is allicin. powerlifer, what you can say based on your personal experience of garlic is that it is not stimulating for you. However, based on my personal experience, garlic is stimulating for me. So why would we have a difference of experience? Well, for one thing is that I've been 100% raw for over 9 years, and I have mostly not eaten garlic fo

A raw starch that would actually be edible is something like a jerusalem artichoke (sunchoke), or celery root. Brocoli and cauliflower are semi starchy and edible raw. A raw protein might be a sprouted lentil or other legume. A raw acid would be any kind of citrus, pineapple, tamarind, tomato.

My experience of using foreign appliances with transformers is that you can easily ruin your appliance. It would be much safer to buy a cheap blender used through ebay while you are there, and sell it when you leave.

I have a tribest personal blender. It doesn't feel heavy duty, meaning that I can't put it under very much of a load before it start to sound loaded and get hot. Its a travel blender, and low powered as such, and I take that into consideration when I use it. However, its beats not having a blender when I travel.

by the way, the jerusalem artichoke is a sunchoke, not an artichoke, just for clarification.

The simplest form of good food combining is no combining at all. Mono eating. That means a meal of just one fruit, say like 6 oranges. Other than that, here are some simple rules these combine well ------------------ leafy greens and fruit fats and acids fats and carbs these don't combine well ------------------------ starch and protein fat and protein

Salsa: 1 medium tomato 2 ribs celery 1 small red bell pepper handful of cilantro small amount of green onions (I use only 3 inches of the green grassy part of one green onion) a pinch of cumin powder (do this to taste) Food process the ingredients without the tomato. Then add in the tomato last, and process some more, leaving the salsa to the level of chunkiness you desire Guacamole:

Eating a salad of mostly raw cabbage can be intense. I usually add a little red cabbage, shredded finely, into my green salad. I add it for a little color and taste, but the greens are the dominant vegetable, and the cabbage is more of a condiment. Also, peanut butter, or peanuts, just by themselves, are bad food combining (they are high in protein, fat, and starch). Its better to use a real n

On the video, I noticed the B-12 contained cyanocobalamin, a man made form of B-12 that breaks down into cyanide. This cyanide is released directly into the blood, as opposed to cyanide you might ingest (say from apple seeds), which the body has protection against. When things are injected directly into the blood, the entire immune system is bypassed. Below is an article I found on 30bad about

I agree with veghunter's choices for high calories. In addition to high calorie, you also want high water content foods and low fat, as fat take a lot of energy to digest. This is why sweet juicy fruits are the best options. The sweeter the fruit, the higher the caloric density. Banana, though not the juiciest of the fruits, has a water content that is equivalent to the water content of the h

Hey banana who, that looks like a nice computer at a good price. Usually with new computers, the anti-virus works for one year, then they start charging you an annual fee. After the one year is over, take a look at using the AVG free virus scanner. Or if you are really adventurous, install Ubuntu along side of Windows, and run a free operating system that doesn't get viruses.
