oh yes! my daughter grows tons of these. she sells them to our local market. besides slicing and eating (eat the peel too by the way!) you can put them in salads. shred if you want. i dehydrated many pounds of these and then i ground them up in my vitamix. i filled capsules and take a couple everyday. if you don't already know...these are packed with good stuff! they are a prebiotic too!

A bit off topic but... The kombucha I make gets super carbonated. If I add ginger during it's resting time, it tastes just like ginger ale. Jennifer

hiya! i make nut butters all the time in my champion (using the blank) i NEVER add any extra oil and have fabulous results producing a smooth and creamy butter. you have to pass it through 6 times or so. not just once! everytime you pass it through, it gets creamier. i soak and dehydrate the nuts first. walnut butter is to live for!! jennifer

hi and happy new year! my sister (who farms tomatoes) referred me to the almond farmer. i asked a couple of questions before i went to lodi for the almonds as it's a couple hours away from where i live. 1. are they sprayed? no 2. have they been pasteurized? nope...just picked and shelled (they were still very slightly damp) i guess i don't know for sure if what he told me was true. i j

i would be hesitant to blend the quinoa without rinsing the saposins off first. i suppose then you would have to dehydrate or dry the seeds before blending to make flour. jennifer

Thats funny. My husband doesn't like them either. When I asked him why he said they taste too "clean". You can try a hollowing out a zucchini? Maybe you like them?

I've been eating these like crazy! My oldest daughter has been giving me tons from her garden. I like them stuffed with carrots, avocado, green onions, sprouts and a bit of sunflower seeds. Sometimes I add a bit of flax oil and some pink salt. My 12 y.o. likes hers stuffed with almond butter. It sounded a bit weird to me but it's really good! They're so fun to make and super easy to take wi

I don't think it's because they don't like raw foods. I think people don't even know they're eating bad. Plus healthy eating isn't something you can push on anyone. Food is a very emotional subject. People get really defensive when it comes to this subject. They don't want to believe they aren't feeding themselves of their family horribly. I wish i could have helped my best friends mom w

here's my $.02: while you can just as easily freeze as dehydrate, there is only so much room in a freezer. i already have 2 full sized fridges and 1 little freezer which is full up! i really need to dehydrate stuff! i have a couple of apple trees so i dry my apples (1 example) it's so depends of your personal circumstances (obviously!)
