I doubt the peel makes much of a difference, but agree with peeling first and then weighing.

I'd just start with whole seeds and see where that takes you. Whole seeds are digestible and mix well with water or juice. Krefcenz

To paul. You didn't mention the price difference between the Breville and the Omega. Shouldn't that count?

I'd stick with Cuisinart, 11 or 14 cup. I wouldn't recommend less than 11 cup in case you need to process large batches. Best place to buy? Is there a Costco near you? You can often find the 11 cup available at great discounts. Obviously if you can wait until after X-Mas, I'd bet you can get some great discounts. I just checked Overstock.com. They have an 11 cup for $187.

Would have helped if you included a disclaimer that your observations were from a personal rather than general perspective. No matter. I look forward to reviewing your assumptions from either perspective without concern as I know for me, from a personal perspective, 100 percent raw is infinitely cheaper than cooked when I look at the total costs, not just the price of the food. Vitamix is quoting $449 for a 5200 , for $365 including shipping, you can get a Blendtec HP3A with a 96 ounce carafe from 2-life.com. Need to scroll down and request special price. But it's $365 including shipping. Depends if you think the Vitamix is worth the extra $85. Your call. p.s. before you make your decision, you might want to see the 96 ounce carafe in action. delet

You are better off not eating before bedtime and finding something at lunch that removes that craving. Intermittant fasting, staying away from food over 17hours has great mental benefits and physical benefits in terms of weight loss. night eating is a loser. Best off , drop the habit. Do what you need to to do it. Kref best bets are whole fruits and vegetables at lunch

You are going to have to run that one by with your assumptions. Many of these folks are on 8-1-1, which are just organic fruits and veggies with little quantities of need lipids. Flax seed is cheap.

Kitty, I agree with the prior posters regarding suggesting an all raw diet. That's a journey we have to go through personally. At the same time, going vegan and including a a range of raw and cooked foods is a good first step. After all, there are advantages to including conservatively cooked foods to an otherwise all raw diet. Best. Kref

I think adding greens to your diet to offset an excessive fruit intake is healthy given the nexus of blood sugar and cancer. However, does wheatgrass provide a comparative advantage to protect from getting cancer compared to cruciferous green juice (collards, kale, etc)? Not based on what I've read. The data support getting sufficient greens but not exclusively from wheatgrass, be sure to inc

I am very grateful for the response to my original post. I think that based on what I've heard, people may react differently to this diet. But I'm intrigued because of my personal preference for fruit, certainly over starches. Much thanks to the Board. I'm going to read and possibly try 80-10-10. Even if I don't, will limit fats (oils, nuts, and seeds). Much thanks to all!! Kref

what's the benefit to eating them green? why not let them ripen? in general eating unripened fruit is counterproductive, is it not? The fruit isn't as nutritious if it's not ripe. Toxicity apart, I would just let them turn red.

It seems that a large number of posters on this forum appear to either follow Dr. Graham's 80-10-10 diet or a similar fruit-predominant raw vegan diet. I was wondering if some of you would be willing to share what changes/benefits you are realizing from this diet as well as what challenges you have encountered, if any. And how you managed them. Thank you in advance for sharing. Kref
