I have a Jack La Lanne juicer, but I am upgrading to a Green Star. The juicer works fine and I think is very easy to clean, but I think that over time the Green Star will pay for itself since there is probably far less waster with the Green Star juicer. From what I read, the pulp with a Green Star is very dry, while the pulp with my Jack LaLanne is not. I don't want to spend $$ on organic prod

Did you run an overnite test the same nite with the same kind of water in the same kind of container only without the Prill beads to see if the pH of that water also changed?

I try to really enjoy my green juice drink each morning. If I eat when I'm at about a 5 on the hungry scale instead of a 10, I try to enjoy it all. If I'm at a 10 I might wolf down the first few bites. I am still getting flushed in my face off and on for a few seconds after I eat a lot of greens. I'm not sure this is going to go away! At really wierd. Doesn't seem to matter what variety o

I'm sorry you have such terrible doctors where you live. That must be terrible to have the disease you have with no doctors that can really help you to learn about what you should eat.

That's good to know. I am waiting for September for the new Green Star model to be out, and then I'll compare to the other Green Stars and see which one I want to order. I felt like I completely wasted organic spinach this morning! I'll just eat the rest of it in salads this week.

Has you doctor suggested eating a lot of bananas. My friend who has various problems with her colon, etc. was told to NOT eat any bananas. They would always flare up her symptoms.

You might want to read about spinach. From what I understand, it is difficult for many people to digest eating it in its pure raw form and can cause a lot of discomfort with some people. Have you tried juicing?

I just thought I'd say good morning and report that I've been eating about 90% raw for 2.5 weeks now. I feel great! I have so much energy I'm bouncing off the walls. Last nite I went to the gym and did cardio for 80 minutes and stopped because it was midnight and I really needed to go to bed! How is your raw food diet treating you lately?

I only have a Jack LaLanne juicer right now. This morning I decided to add organic baby spinach leaves to my green drink. I tossed them in the juicer and got about a tsp juice out of 2 handsful of leaves! The juicer pretty must just tossed them where it tosses the pulp. For those of you who have decent juicers, do you get much juice out of raw spinach?

Your recipe has been tempting me for a couple of days now! I don't think I can purchase coconuts where I live, but I can purchase raw coconut flakes? Would that work?

Are we supposed to eat more chlorophyll then we could eat from green veggies? This is something I know nothing about, but it always concerns me a bit to eat mega doses of anything that I'm not getting thru natural foods.

Suncloud, How do you do it? I do use a juicer for a couple of reasons. I just don't know if I could possible eat all the veggies that I put in my juicer every day! I have beening thinking about my juicer as packing in the nutrition. I also wouldn't eat several of the veggies that I juice raw. Are you mostly a fresh fuit eater?

Pborst, By my definition of raw, which I know is very narrow, what I was wondering the most about is whether raw food eaters are trying to reproduce foods that they used to eat on a SAD diet by varying the recipes and using a dehydrator, or whether more were just eating fruits, veggies, seeds without a dehydrator. I'm not saying that either choice is better or worse then the other, but for me

How many of you eat 100% raw (to me, that means not increasing the temperature of anything, including not using a dehyrator) v those that use dehydrators? If you don't use any heat for any of your food, was that a progression for you to get there, or is that how you converted to raw originally? I don't have a decent dehydrator and not sure I want to order one. I can make all kinds of food

I soak my nuts, but I'm new to this and just doing what I'm reading to do! Now that I've read the posts in this thread though, I'm wondering if I really need to soak them. I don't eat more than a palm full of nuts a day, if that many.

I've only been on the boards for 2 weeks now, but I have noticed your struggles with your health and figuring out what to eat that will work for you. My only suggestion is to find something that works and eat that way for several days. Let your body settle in to what is working for it, instead of changing it up so frequently. Then add one new raw food item for a day or two and see how that aff

Without a doubt, a juicer. I don't even make smoothies (granted I've only been raw for 2 weeks). Its working great for me to make 2 really large juice drinks a day and eat fresh fruit and a salad the rest of the day. I look at veggies now in the produce stand very differently -- pure nutrition to juice. I'd never put something like asparagus, beets, broccoli, etc. in a blender. But I've been

No matter how much weight you loose, you need to exercise your heart and lungs. A lot of very thin people are in TERRIBLE shape because they do not get any exercise. Just try walking or hiking or whatever you like to do. Maybe join and exercise class for beginners someplace. Once you do get moving you will very quickly feel even better.

I did a search on some raw foods sprouting sites and its looks like you can purchase raw oat groats seeds and soak them and eat them. The sites didn't say that you needed to sprout them first.
