I've found that being 811 and trying to eat a lot more food has helped, my zinc intake is a lot higher- as an example, one large bowl of courgetti is about 33% of the rda. Make a sauce and add a tbs of tahini and it'll whack it up even higher. That's just one meal. Great post, btw Lots of people obsess about b12 and vit D, when it's easy to overlook zinc, calcium and iron.

I think 80-10-10 is sustainable for a lot of people. For someone in Scandinavia, probably not. And please don't say 'try to understand...'. That's very patronising and suggests that I have judged people in my former posts in this thread. I didn't.

> So > everyone who's not 80/10/10 looks ill and unhappy? > Like who? Me? I never said that. I starting posting in this thread because of the huge amount of posts attacking durianrider and freelee. Now I'm having words put in my mouth? I like durianrider & freelea. This doesn't mean I think everyone else looks hideous in comparison.

Lol! That made me smile But I stick by my guns! I prefer to see people succeeding rather than failing, and I'd rather seek advice from someone who looks healthy and glowing and raving about how great their diet is, than from someone who looks ill and unhappy and only has anecdotes about all the crazy back and forth diet changes they do.

I think there's a big difference in selling coaching, and changing ones dietary advice depending on the latest superfood fad in order to cash in. A lot of 'gurus' switch from vegan to vegetarian to omni and move from cacao to algae to greens and back and forth. There's nothing wrong in these raw foodists discovering what works for them but when they're writing articles and books that constantly c

RawJoe - Their website looks like it takes a lot of work so I personally don't begrudge them trying to make a few quid from ebooks and mentoring. Everyone does it. They have to pay for bananas, remember?

People are extremely vicious about Freelee. If those making judgements about her implants took 5 seconds to read when and why she got them, you'd realise how awful you sound judging her.

I don't like the word 'bitch'- especially when women use it to describe other women (usually with venom!). Here though, it's permissible IMHO. Freelea is getting the word out about health and animal welfare. If the word 'bitch' attracts people who normally shy away from raw foodist videos because they think they're too new age-y, then the word does a positive job

No one ever seems to mention these fruits? They remind me a lot of dates- I'm kind of surprised they're not mentioned more by 811-ers as I imagine they're quite high in carbs.. Lots of stores stock the block packs of them?

Thanks for the replies, guys! (The dinosaur reference amused me ) I'm based in the UK and Amazon here still have the Lurch (the Tsumapuro is unlisted). Is there a major difference between the two?

Oh no! I don't have my instructions anymore either but I remembered how to make angel hair noodles First you put the teeth blade in the white middle area and lock the little handle to the left. The little metal teeth should be pointing upwards. Put the white middle area on top of the see through base. Then you cut your veg into smaller pieces (make sure the slice is perfect otherwise it

I have a Saladacco, but no Spirooli... How do the noodle thicknesses compare? I find the Saladacco angel hair threads can be overwhelmed in a thick sauce, but at the same time, because they're so thin, they absorb sauces well. The noodles from a Spirooli look far more like proper noodles but I am worried the texture might be a bit weirder! Opinions, guys? I want to get back into raw for

Hi, after being totally unraw after my holiday, I started eating more bread/pasta- mostly to make packed lunches for work etc. This coincided with horrible stomach cramps, loud gurgly belly etc. This week, I cut out the gluten, upped the raw intake back up- lots of fruit, salads etc, and my belly generally feels a lot better But, I don't feel 100% yet. I read that in can take months and m

In a nutshell, you're either vegan or you're not. Veganism is about ethics. Someone who eats vegan food but is otherwise non-vegan in other aspects of life is a not vegan. It's that simple.

Thanks for all the replies I've been eating more veg (both raw and steamed) and lots and lots of salad, but not very much fruit. I used to quite like the fresh taste of wheatgrass, but the last few times I've had it from the juice bar, it has tasted quite, uh, overpowering, and not very nice. Maybe their wheatgrass has been left out too long. It looks okay, but given the juicebar is inside a sho

Since Christmas, I've been barely raw and I've been trying to get back into it for the last few weeks. I've been having a few shots of fresh wheatgrass here and there, and it seems to be really upsetting my stomach (diahorrea). I've never had a problem with it before, yet all of a sudden I seem to be getting this horrible side effect. Maybe it's detox as my diet has been sucky this winter? Any th
