I powerlifted and took it pretty serious but it was for fun...like a hobby. Yeah...I worked my ass off to increase my max a couple pounds but that was part of the challenge. Doesn't mean I am a mental defect. My lifting was also partly for job performance. As a police officer I would much rather be a 250 pound muscle head than Matt Manarch. Not trying to insult the guy but he would get broken in

I agree...the quality of my life was greater when I was lifting. I personally did not do it for looks though I did do it for my own satisfaction. It was like a hobby for me. Thing is...if you are very lean and workout you are likely to get a little bit cut. Doing things like situps are not just for vanity...they are a very important aspect of fitness and maintaining a strong core to help prevent

Looking like that is often a side effect of working out. I thought that in addition to good eating habits exercise was important. I may be wrong though as it seems the preference is for the skinny non-working out type physique. I mean the last guy above me...if you're lean, that look can be accomplished easily with some push-ups and ab work like crunches and sit-ups. I kinda think it is funny tha

I would be happy with a body like Bear Grylls from the show Man vs. Wild. He is fit but still kinda average looking...not all cut up like he is really trying to have a fantastic body builder type physique. I think that Matt Monarch is unhealthy skinny looking. As far as youtube raw foodies are concerned I don't mind Dan the man the liferegenerator's body. He is really thin but still has some defi

I have to say that as a male coming from a powerlifting background my first reaction is to say that all three are WAY too skinny. My brain is wired to think that I need to have a 50+ inch chest, 18+ inch arms, tree trunk legs, ect...but I am working on that self image issue. In reality Matt is too skinny for my tastes but number 2 is not bad. I would have to say if I could do it I would be happy

Just just juiced some for the first time...added to my normal very delicious green juice. With the added dandelion I had lots of trouble getting down my juice. I may have added too much for my first time...not sure. I'll try again but with less.

I wondered the same thing...how relationships like that work. I am sure it is a little difficult at times but as long as both people support each other in their chosen diet then it should be ok. I am not vegan nor am I vegetarian...yet. My fiance supports the change though so she is ok with my decision. She won't consider changing herself and that does not really bother me. We have a son and a da

I guess what I mean is will the fruit or non-green veggies compete or in someway block or hinder the greens doing what they do?

I totally missed the Free for a Limited Time thing. I just signed up assuming it was a free discussion board. I hope it doesn't turn into a pay to play type deal.

All I can say is be preventative as much as you can. Build slow, lift safe, and don't push too hard and listen to your body. I would also look into some rotator cuff exercises to strengthen them before they get damaged. That is the worst mistake I made...neglecting my shoulders.

I was researching juice feasting and watching some more videos on green juice and several people talked about beginners adding things to their green juice like apples, pears, carrots, ect until they could handle the taste of the straight greens juiced. So my take is that green juice should be made from 100% or very close to 100% greens. Is that correct? Will adding carrots or apple cause any harm

Side effects from powerlifting? Mostly the ones that you would expect. Pain in my shoulders, hips, and knees. Elbows are not so great nor are my wrists. I can't say 100% that these symptoms are from lifting heavy but at just can't imagine that lifting hundreds of pounds of weights for years is not going to be hard on the body. I lifted weights routinely for about 8 years. I was 160 pounds when I

I saw that video the other day. Very exciting that there is a reasonably priced blender that can still do a good job. I am using a standard Oscar blender now and it actually does a pretty darn good job but I don't know how long it will last being used a couple times a day everyday. I guess when it goes I will look into one of the nicer blenders.

I ordered from WheatgrassKits dot com. They claim to be USDA certified organic so I hope everything turns out good. I actually ordered the seeds through their ebay store because shipping was $4 less than if I ordered directly from their website. I paid less that $30 shipped for the seed which I thought was a pretty good price considering some sites I checked out wanted as high as $8 per pound for

I will say this about push-ups...when I entered the police academy I could bench 300 pounds. I was a powerlifter by the way. For the first 5 or 6 weeks we were there we could not use the weight room. It was a luxury that had to be earned. So we did the standard academy PT which was quite brutal and consisted of probably several hundred push-ups throughout the day. By the time we earned the privil

Ordered 10 pounds of seed so hopefully that will last me a while. I read somewhere last night that a pound should produce enough grass for a 2 oz shot of juice everyday for about 14 days. Does that sound right? So 10 pounds should last me about 5 months give or take.

Yeah...I like that the Omega is also a dual stage where the Samson is a single stage. In head to head tests on youtube the Omega generally seemed to produce just a tab bit more juice and did seem to be less foamy. I am pretty set on the Omega. Even if not the Omega I am 100% on the auger style juicer as I do green juices and will soon be doing wheatgrass as well.

Yeah...I was checking some out today at the same store and they did sound like they were pretty full. Still the brown ones and they were $1.99 each. Didn't get any though.

I want to order some wheatgrass seed. Just curious how much seed is used to grow a flat of grass? Something like the 21"x10" sized flat. Just trying to see how far 5 pounds of seed will go.

You guys are very correct. I meant the 8004. I was also considering the Samson 9004 which is were I made the model number mistake. It is in fact the Omega 8004 that I am getting. Great catch on my mistake.

I missed where you said it was 8 years old. I think they have a 5 year warranty but it might be worth an email to them. They might surprise you.

$5 each sucks but at least you can get them. They don't even sell young coconuts where I live. Just the brown ones with no juice. Last time I bought one and cracked it open the meat inside was rotten. Never again.

I plan on getting the Omega 9004 soon. I watched numerous youtube videos and this juicer seems to be as good as anything out there and is a champ at leafy greens and wheatgrass. Maybe not a fast as the centrifugal ejection juicers but those don't do the greens as well or wheatgrass at all. I think that the Green Star is an awesome juicer too but it costs too much for my at this time. Even the Ome

Still under warranty? For the cost of those things I would be sending it back to be fixed or replaced for sure if the warranty is still valid.

I hate running with a passion. Very painful for me. I suffer from terrible shin splints and mild compartment syndrome. I do mountain bike frequently (not lately though). To those that do run and like (love) it...I applaud you. I always wanted to be able to run and enjoy it but it's just not in the cards for me. I do like push-ups though. I used to have to do so many of them at the police academy.

So since it is recommended by many nutritionist to eat every 3-4 hours, small meals or healthy snacks, does anyone find that eating sporadically throughout the day that it hampers any weight loss efforts? That is if you are on the raw diet at least partly to loose weight. I am a pretty big guy at 6'2" and about 310 pounds but I am also heavily muscled from years of powerlifting. I want to lo

I would simply continue to grow (if seeds where even available) and deal with the consequences.
