Back during my partying days I was very much the same way most of the time. I was almost always able to control myself, able to keep my head during situations that needed a cool head, helped others keep their cool, ect. That is not to say I didn't do some stupid (but never dangerous) things. This was all when I 20 and until I was maybe 22, close to 23. I started in LE when I was 24 and that is wh

I have learned during my 10 years in law enforcement that alcohol is never the answer unless the question is how do I get drunk and do stupid things. I am sure once you are sober and you can reflect on this experience you'll use it to better your self.

haha...thanks. Yeah...I had some fat for sure but my goal was strength training so I didn't care. I had visible abs believe it or not so I wasn't obese even though I weight 280 pounds. I was benching 425, squatting about 500, and deadlifting 550 (all raw lifts) around the time that picture was taken which was spring 2006 just before my son was born.

You can get pretty big (might only be a gallon) glass containers meant for sun tea that have a spigot at the bottom.

If I buy a juicer I am sold on the Omega 8004. Since I do primarily green juices I feel the need of an auger type juicer out weighs the speed of a centrifugal juicer. But after juicing the past few weeks with my blender as well as making ice cream and nut/seed milk, I am thinking strongly about skipping the juicer and getting a quality blender instead. I cannot afford a juicer and a new blender,

I love ice cream...I love bananas...so it is a no brainer for me...banana ice cream. Guilt free and delicious. A couple frozen bananas, a splash of almond milk, some other fruit or cocoa for flavoring, and viola, a great desert.

I am in the same boat having a very tight budget but I am managing. I might not have a huge diversity of fruits and veggies but I am managing. My staple is bananas, Costco has mango 9 for $8 and they are good. Not organic though. Carrots are another stable...I love them whole and eat several at a time. Again, Costco has organic carrots 10 pounds for $7. I eat a lot of spinach at $1.50 a pound and

I have clearly lost a lot of muscle mass in the last few weeks. I can really tell it in my arms and chest. Kinda glad, kinda sad. At this point weight is weight. While I would prefer it to be fat, any amount off my knees and low back is welcome. If I decide I need the muscle mass back I will go back in to the weight room and build it back. I am "blessed" being a fast gainer in the weigh

Also...you are supposed to do this until the oil that it spat out is white and foamy. If it is still yellow and oily then you did not pull long enough.

Just made the best green smoothie I have had to date. I used about a cup of sunflower milk, 1/2 pound spinach, 1/4 of a cantaloupe, and a nice ripe banana. No spinach taste at all not that spinach taste is a bad thing. But for someone trying to acclimate to green smoothies/juice it could be good.

If you have never watched it...check out the movie/documentary "Pumping Iron". Lou is in it. Great movie. He had, still has in fact, a great body but I think he was too tall to win Olympia. His muscles were too long so they lacked the bulk even though he was a monster of a man. Arnold is even tall by body builder standards at 6'1" or 6'2".

Yeah...they sell year round because they have some green houses as well but not nearly on the scale they do in the summer. They are limited to leafy stuff during the winter and just one market is open during the winter. But yeah...it is definitely a money maker. The owner, Eli, says he started on a 1/2 acre and at the age of 15. Just started growing some stuff and selling at a local market and I

The prices at the DC area markets are pretty insane but there is a lot of money down there too. These are really big markets too so there are lots of people. My friends down make that much profit from all that money cause each market has 4-6 people working at $100 each per day, they have several farm workers working 6 days a week, and as I understand it the farm they lease costs something like $1

I have some friends that operate a commercial farm that is mostly organic. There only income is working farmers markets in the Washington D.C. area. They do 3 different markets on Sat. and Sun. through the market season. They make as much as $14k from one market in one day. My fiancé worked for them some last summer and she worked the smaller of the three markets and she said it was nothing for

Cool...mail order produce. I am actually planning next year to plant a pretty large (to me anyways) crop next year and do some farmers markets. It will be just the regular stuff like peppers, tomatoes, cukes, beans, carrots, wild raspberries, lambs quarter, stinging nettle, ect. But my plan is to grow lesser know or totally unknown varieties and they will of course be organic and heirloom. I want

This is totally off topic but kinda funny...I know this guy that is an avid weight lifter. If you saw a picture of him you would think he was a monster of a man and that his arms must be 24" and his chest 60" and he was just a freak. Truth is, the guy is really short...like 5'4" and his measurements are really small but just because of his height it really exaggerates how big he lo

I know that if I am hungry...I mean really hungry like I NEED food, I get very cranky. Since I started eating the way I am eating now I have not had that problem, even if for some reason I don't eat for half the day.

This is me...it is hard to get a real perspective of how big I was in this photo but I was about 280 pounds. My arms were 20" around, my chest 56", my shoulders 61", and I still have that shirt...it is a 3XL. I am 6'2".

It's funny how different peoples ideas of what big and muscley is. I looked at pictures of both of those guys and yes...they look great and seem to be in great shape and I would be happy to look like either of them, but in my opinion neither is close to being big. But then again, I come from a power lifting background where guys weighing 250+ pounds is the norm. Looking at those two it at least c

You gotta do things for you and for your reasons, even if it pisses other people off. They are not the ones that are living your life and dealing with your pain. I agree you do things the way that is best for you. If you think not going to the funeral is the best then by all means don't go. I know I wouldn't if I were in your shoes. Your family may be pissed now as I am sure it is an emotional ti

Where do dates fall as far as dried fruits and being ok to eat or not on a daily basis? I know they are a pretty important component for raw food recipes, especially deserts and things that need sweetened. I just love to eat them though and I don't want to over do it. A pound will last me a week to week and a half so I am not eating that much but if that is even too much I would like to know so I
