Yeah...I believe it does as well. Common powerlifter injuries are torn muscles and tendons and even detached muscles, especially the pectoralis major. I also believe that lifting using that methodology contributed to my shoulder injury even a couple years after I stopped lifting weights. flipperjan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Interesting Nubster. Can't remember the last movie I rented...it's been a long time. Last movie I saw in the theater was Despicable Me and before that Shrek Forever After.

In powerlifting the athletes limit stretching as much as possible. The shorter compact muscle generates more power. Warming up is extremely important though.

I agree that massage can be almost a miracle for pain relief. I don't have IT band issues but I do have a really bad lower back. Much of my pain comes from extremely tight glutes and hamstrings. Add the fact that I had to wear a 25 pound gun belt around my hips for 11 hours a day and you can imagine...I had knots and lumps in the muscles in my back and hips and the only thing that ever made it be

I am actually happier not that I am not as massive. My mobility has improved and I find that my general fitness has improved. Even though I weigh more then I did when I was lifting, during that period of my life I was so muscle bound that I found it difficult to do a lot of everyday things. But I hear ya too about taking it easy...I know I will never bench 400+ again and I am finally ok with t

Not complaining. Just a simple fact that because of injuries the pain of lifting makes it unbearable. Maybe you'll let me tear your shoulder out of joint to the point that the cartilage is sheared off the bone and needs surgery to repair it. Then a few months after that I'll smash your spine until you have some ruptured discs in your back. Then we'll see how gung ho you are to get back to trainin

I watched Future of Food a few weeks ago...pretty messed up stuff. Meet Your Meat...nasty. Supermarket Secrets...pretty interesting and disturbing. I also recently watched The Last Beekeeper. That is another concerning one. Even though there are lots of folks that don't agree with beekeeping...bees are responsible for over 1/3 of the worlds fruits and vegetables. Not sure the exact figu

Depends on what kinda weight lifting you do. If you lift for fitness and/or aesthetics then if proper form is used and you watch to not over train...chances of injury are pretty low. Powerlifting however, especially competitively, is very very hard on the body. To stay competitive lifters often over train, ignore signs their body is giving telling the person to slow down, sacrifice good form, and

The first and main problem with that is the fact that a couple years ago I blew out my shoulder at work and it had to be surgically repair so for the most part my heavy lifting, benching at least, days are over. Second...how long would I have to be 100% raw before I could call myself a raw powerlifter? How long before my muscles and strength become raw and not left over SAD? I have no doubt I

I won't disagree but I still want to see a raw lifter that can move as much weight as I could when I was lifting. I would love to see it infact because that would be great motivation knowing that I can eat raw and still potentially lift heavy if I choose to. You know...in my experience I will say that this is a pretty fair statement. I was drug free however health was not a concern. Adding 5 pounds to my bench in a month was my concern. Getting one inch deeper on my squat was my concern. Pulling my max just a little easier was my concern. And of course there are those that do use chemicals to assist them reach their goals. There are plenty of big, st

powerlifer...I checked out Robert Cheeke and while not what I would consider big, he definitely has a great build and actually at this point in my life a build that if I decide to start lifting again I would aspire to. His size certainly could be from his training style, genetics, or choice. I also checked out Charlie Abel. He certainly looks pretty average to me. I know people that never lif

How big are you? Post up a pic or some measurements if you don't mind. Not to judge but I am still curious how muscular a person can get eating raw. Also...not sure if you are into numbers as far as how much weight you can lift but if so could you post those numbers too. Interested in the big three mostly...bench, squat, dead. I am just trying to get an idea of what kinda of muscular strength is

It's funny cause this whole time I have been seeing PowerLIFER's name as Powerlifter. It wasn't until it was brought up in this thread that I see now what it really says...lol Anyways...back to my unanswered post. I am not asking about who is healthier...meat eating vs. vegan/raw strength athletes (I have no doubt the vegan/raw person is the healthier). I am just curious where they stand again

I also don't believe that meat "makes" people aggressive. People are aggressive because they are products of their environment, not what they eat.

Never been much for coffee, soda not that often though rarely now trying to make it ZERO but I still have one on the rare occasion, tea used to be my preferred cold drink but now I also drink it very rarely. These days I am on filtered water with almond milk as an occasional treat.

I think the 8004 is probably the second best at any cost/class...second only to the Greenstar that costs over $500 and is a dual auger juicer. That is my opinion from what I have seen in all the videos I have watched. The 8004 is definitely on my list of things I want to get when the cash flow is better.

I would find it hard to believe that one could build up a physique like that without some extra protein. He is not huge by any stretch of the imagination but much more muscular than all the other raw "bodybuilder" pictures I have seen so far.

I realize that but when a vegan/raw lifestyle is not working for someone as they wish it to be, sometimes you have to consider other options even if they are not vegan.

I am still eating eggs. I buy farm market cage free organic eggs and eat 6-8 a week. For some I know that is not an option but for me it is what feels right so for now I will continue.

Depends on what consistency you like. I prefer a soft serve type consistency so usually I eat my ice cream as soon as it is done in the blender. If you like it more like ice cream from the store then you can throw it back in the freezer for a bit.

My morning smoothie is basically 4 oz of spinach, 3-4 big leaves of kale, 1 or 2 bananas, whatever other fruit I might have on hand, favorite being cantaloupe, and sometimes some cucumber. Blend with 1 - 1 1/2 cups of water and juice of a lemon to prevent oxidation and add some flavor and lemony goodness . Add some honey if you like it a little sweeter. I like kale personally but honestly I don't

I thought B12 shots were IM. I know that when I was lifting and I was on the lifting boards many of them had anabolic sections and I would read them from time to time and the guys would often inject B12 as an appetite booster and also they used it to cut other anabolics. powerlifer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > sublingual b12 is the best pill wise, bu
