Thank you so much for that, I will read it again when I'm struggling like I am now. The worst part for me is people have no confidence in me anymore and keep trying to feed me cookies and soup stock lol! And doctors keep offering me more and more stronger pills. Feel like a stranger in a strange land. Thank You!!!

The Rheumatologist I was at two weeks ago for a painful immobile shoulder thing said my blood pressure etc was excellent and I was going to live a long time and could he sell me some life insurance? I told him I took care of myself and ate really well and I didn't want to take the anti-inflammatories he recommended because my stomach would be affected, it's been feeling so good lately. He dis

Will try accupuncture again with a different guy I know to be excellent, just further away. Thanks Elakti for the suggestion. Thanks EA for your usual love and caring support! Attended my first potluck on Saturday, it was great! Food combing rules pretty much out the window but so wonderful to connect with like-minded people and exchange info. Don't feel so alone anymore! Several skinny people

About 6 months since my original post. Am having a hard time with a painful neurological conditon in my shoulders from my sedentary computer job for the last 25 years and am considering fasting to help heal it. Am on average about 90% raw and can't conceive of returning to a SAD cooked diet even with this challenge. Have tried ant-infalmmatories and have lost some of my raw glow Some frie

It's been over a week on the meds, I hate putting that stuff in my body but have no choice I feel. There is a 20% improvement, very small but I'll keep taking them because I can't live my life in constant pain. Am going to a raw food potluck this evening, am bringing corn tortillas and a mango papya salsa. Have not been 100% raw, ate a small bag of chips a couple of days ago, will not repea

My dogs eat just about everything I do so I could make them banana ice cream with blueberries and raw nuts or pumpkin seeds, they love pumpkinseeds. I would not give them too much as the bananas are probably too sweet for them in large quantities. Pumpkin sounds nice too, you could add banana too that too and ground pumkin seeds or nuts. Good idea, I think I'll do it for them when the hot weather

Elakti, Making sure there's lots of raw food around the kitchen is key for me. I shop every day just about. How lucky you are to have lettuce from your garden. I am growing cukes and red peppers fron seed right now, have several nice little plants starting. Good luck on your raw journey!

I hae the Singh/Brett DVD, when my shoulder heals I will use it. Took Kundalini for several months and loved it but had to stop due to lower back injury. I will return to it when I am able. It is amazing.

If you put crushed eggshell pieces around the plant they will not cross because they can't take the sharp edges of the eggshells.

People often post about sprouting sunflower seeds etc. Can I just use the raw sunflower, pumpkin seeds I buy from Whole Foods that come in the plastic bags? Rarely do these seeds taste very fresh anyway and with pasteurization methods nowadays I feel they won't sprout. Am I wrong about that? Do I have to order special seeds?

Well, I keep re-injuring my shoulder and I can't take it anymore. I'm going on the Meloxicam. I started it to-nite. In a perfect world I would go to Fiji and live there stress free for six months fasting occasionally and heal perfectly. But since conditions are not ideal ahem I'm going to drop the diet purity thing for a bit and take the drugs. Am still going to stay mainly raw of course.

Us modern humans are the victims of our own very sophisticated marketing and our TV sets. The message could take a while to get out. But in my office today there are several people who know one happy person, (me) who eats nothing but whole raw fruits and veggies all day and doesn't appear to be dying at all. Radiant raw foodists themselves are the best advertisement, (just don't tell them til

Fruit and very low fat is I've finally found is freedom for me (and many others here). Fat is the culprit with candida. Apparently it keeps the sugar hanging around in your bloodstream w-a-a-a-y longer than it's supposed to. This is discussed elsewhere and in DR Grahams 80/10/10 book. The humans we evolved from over the last 2 million years did not have bagfuls of nuts and bottles of olive

I go to an organic butcher and get chicken necks and backs real cheap, he has them on Thursdays and they're fresh and the dogs know the difference. I buy 10 lbs at a time for about $15. I also give them organ meats, some I buy like turkey livers which I dehydrate. I will buy commercially prepared raw dog food on occasion like green tripe and offal to make sure they're getting the "whole&quo

I have been getting up at 3:00 am with pain in my shoulder and arm/upper back for about a month now. I've been upping the greens to help with pain and healing of my shoulder. (6 months transitioning). I feel great underneath the pain though, kind of like a beautiful piece of music is playing inside me but it's being spoiled by someone practising a bad violin (the pain). Am not worried anym

When I first started I craved fat and salt a lot! Now an avacado blended with a tomatoe tastes salty to me. I'ts been 6 months of transitioning. Still will occasionally eat steamed brocolli or potatoes with avocado for fat. Have a persistently painful "frozen shoulder" (detox?) and if I don't want mega pain I have to stay as simple and raw and low fat as possible. Forget spices and oil!

Earthangel, thanks for your amazing support. It would make sense if the shouler thing were detox. Am thinking about doihg some water fasting to speed healing. Will read up on it. I can control the pain to a large extent by keeping my diet clean. My doctor gave me a prescription for Percoset, that's heavy drugs for pain - no way can't take them. Would probably be a good idea to do a week long

Hello! Wow I'm tempted to do the colon cleanse, am in almost constant pain through my left shoulder and it's meandering to my right (frozen shoulder) and am starting to wonder if it's detox. Have been upping the greens and adding wheatgrass. Am going to take a week or two off work I think to take it easy. I do know of a doctor in Oakville who does the botox thing for about $300, tried it y

I believe many of us experience spiritual growth on a raw diet because in the begining especially we are giving up a eating based on instant gratification. When you do something for reasons other than for instant gratification or non selfish, self loving reasons it always follows that you grow in positive ways. And I believe that spiritual growth is limitless.

I still haven't given up my tea in the morning yet (6 months transitioning so far) but I will eventually. I think it's way less detrimental to me than eating salt/spices or too much fat.

You are doing the right thing and that's incredible news about your daughter! IMO the dehydratror has helped by offering variety and "crunch" when I needed it. (I've been at this for 6 months). Better to eat flaxseed crackers than bread. Besides I use it to make dog "crackers" and so I know whats in them and there's going to be way more nutrtion in them than store bought do
