Dr. Crick would've disputed the possibility of your intelligent premises, anaken and kwan. Not the most, uh, intellectually munificent fellow, by accounts. Ah, the I'm 110% Certain People . . . where would we be without them?

fresh, I am breaking my moratorium on not discussing primates! As to how other primates manage without fatty dressings: not too shabbily, I suppose. But they don't have monkey labs running monkey tests on monkey foods to discern whether this or that monkey clan mightn't eat better for health and well being. Personally, I ENJOY having a bigger and more complex brain than a bonobo, fresh! T

What spices exactly, fresh?--most of the ones I use have quelled physical inflammations in me, and I swear by them. I understand if one has an allergy, of course . . . Condiments? Like vinegars? Dehydrated foods, because they're too hard on digestion, I'm assuming . . . you don't have to respond to this. It's just a verbal panick attack. Spices?! . . . Off to the Almighty God Google, do-de-d

iLIVE, I think by tribespeople, these posters mean, like, the Amazon Basin or Samoa, or the outer Indonesian archipelago, where varied physical labor, and a low calorie/produce-dense diet have been culturally normal for thousands of years. Not Hairy-Scary-Man-of-the-Woods coming out of his survivalist experiment in upper British Columbia on Discovery Channel!

There is nothing wrong with taking a good quality living probiotic supplement, in my opinion, unless you consider biota to be on par with higher multi-celled creatures, as a vegan. As for antibiotics, I don't take that stuff anymore. Nope, straight to the colloidal silver I go. No muss, no fuss, no failure, no moral dilemma. Good luck in your recovery!

Jodi's advice is good. Personally, I would take it as a day to meditate and reflect. Christmas is based on the birthday of the Almighty God Mithras, scion of The Unconquered Sun, after all, and as good an opportunity for personal mini-renewal as any Happy Whatever-You-Wish-To-Call-It, communitybuilder!

Some of the most dangerous organochloric pesticides are sprayed on nuts. Peanuts, for example, would be inedibly riddled with aflatoxin without these measures, but they still have the fungus in spite of these measures and these measures are really poisonous. I never knew anyone growing up who had so much as hay fever, and I'm 36. Makes you wonder . . .

dinesh75, Be lovely yourself, of course! Do a Google search for raw foods groups in DC; I think meetup.com or something like that is pretty comprehensive. Most states, I think, have their own regional vegan/raw foods societies or clubs(this isn't the right term, somehow). There must be a ton of veg people in DC, considering the number of progressive NGOs headquartered there. Or so my sis-i

I would focus on anti inflammatories, like papayas, pineapple, coconut, alliums and tart berries. The EFAs you are consuming should be helping you. Pulses and legumes cause inflammation in some people, so maybe try going without those. What on earth are monkey nuts? This is what I say to describe someone who's gone deranged, but I didn't know it was an actual food! I don't think any amount o

Yes, psoriasis can be a symptom of a nut allergy, although it can be caused by a fungus. You will know if it gets progressively worse upon further nut consumption. Don't give yourself anaphylaxis!

musicbebe, strained nutmilk should be relatively free of fiber, but I don't know how well it would work for whipped cream without adding some actual solid matter to the mix. I am curious to see how this works, but too lazy to make nut milk AND grind up soaked nuts for a concoction! Aslo, why haven't we been bumped to "Recipes" yet?!

First, I wish you every success in your endeavor to fight this virus and to help your body to heal itself. IP-6 has been shown to shrink tumors and to suppress new growth, but if you don't have a cancer diagnosis, you should focus on treatment of the virus itself(which, by the way, almost every woman I know has, without its becoming cancerous: see C. Dove's link above). Goldenseal is good, as

The query I have to the both of you, phantom and gold rush, is where do you draw the line between a person's diet and his values system? To me, being an inveterate meat-eater seems intrinsically tied to a world view in which other species are sub dominant to humans and in which it's considered acceptable to kill and eat other sentient beings. I'm not qualifying or judging; I'm just presenting a

I'm a dog person myself, though I don't mind cats. If I had one, I'm afraid I'd feed him just raw offal, eggs, and fish, with a scosh of parsley. My dog does love his greens and fruit, I must say. Staying on topic appears futile.

Cream gets thick because the lipids disperse and collect air. So, you would need to whip something relatively fatty but also wet--cream is mostly water--at high speeds . . . I have made a raw "cheesecake" filling with half soaked cashews and half soaked peeled almonds whipped until thick with raw agave and lemon juice and water. If you omitted the lemon juice, and added more water, an

Do you live anywhere near Germany or Italy? They produce a lot of hazelnuts; perhaps try doing a search of nut farms there, and contact them about their processing/distribution. Sorry can't be more helpful!

Justin, Hellooooo there! You seem to have a very specialized regimen. Not a lot of food combining, etc. To what do you attribute your seeming sensitivity? Do you feel you are OK on just fruits? Why brazil nuts, specifically? Selenium, by the way, is a necessary nutrient that is one of the most depleted soil minerals in North America. If you live in Europe, that may not be the case. But

iLIVE, Please understand, and I think I speak for everyone, when I refer to the average cooked diet, I am refering to the SAD of North America, not the centenarian diet of Okinawa. I think you've agreed elsewhere that the SAD is very unhealthy, right? I think we generally believe that, on these boards. Most health associations going on empirical data do, anyway . . .
