On a scale of 1-10, how damaging is blending to our food? I ask because a friend attented Brian Clements lecture here in Montreal and asked him that question. His answer was that due to oxidation caused by the blades, it renders the food pretty useless. He said the better the blender the more damage it causes. This has me concerned. What are your thoughts on this? __________________________

I have the book. It's a small book. He makes a strong case as to why we should not eat grains. That grains are not for human consumption. That's about the gist of it.

Of course there are different opinions, but from what I've read, way too many avocados (way too much fat). I only eat about two to three a week. I follow the high fruit, low fat, with lots of greens way of eating or as better known 80-10-10. Suncloud, after 30 years of experimenting with raw food, what is your typical daily diet, if I may ask. Thanks! ______________________________________

I have been about 100% raw since April 17, 2006. Went into it because of some serious health challenges. Still dealing with them though I'm much better than a year ago. So, I'd like to offer my good wishes and encouragent and support. Way to go!!!

Interesting observations. Remember though, that 811 does allow for some overt fats, just not too much. I eat an avocado or two, once a week and do enjoy that. I no longer have cravings fo overt fats. I can now take it or leave it. It takes time for the body to adjust.

Try rinsing your mouth and washing your lips repeatedly after eating citrus (5-6 times and see if that helps. _______________________________________________

I also agree with Bryan & Forrest. I have read Dr Graham's book 80/10/10 several times and it's the book and philosophy that seems to me to be the most logical, sensible, practical, economical, and simplest.

Hey Peisinoe, I just had a thought, you might try things a little slower, like maybe just having a banana meal once a day and then after some time 2 banana meals, and eventually a complete day of bananas and see how that goes. I would think that a monomeal once a day would still be beneficial. Baby step by baby step we move forward. ________________________________________________________

It does take some work to go without overt fats or at least minimize it. But it can be done. I just joined Patrick Patenaude and many others and went one full week without overt fats. I do have two avocados waiting to ripen but I can wait.

Been eating some watercress also. Mine had a strong taste but went well in my smoothies with banana and celery. I doubt that it is more nutritious cooked. Eat it the way God made it. Enjoy! _________________________________________________________________________

I googled "bananas and B12" and got several sites that stated that bananas have some B12. What do you think? __________________________________

In my opinion, it is one of the best. Also Victoria Boutenko's, "Green For Life." I also think, if you read some previous posts, there is a similar topic, with lots of opinions. ________________________

Those mushrooms can sure trip you up! LOL As far as potatoes, it all depends whose opinion you want. I read that during World War Two, some people survived on only raw potatoes for months. Dr. Norman Walker who lived to be 109 years old, said that raw potatoes are edible and have a lot of good nutrients (potassium, Vitamins A, B, and C). Others think that what is below ground should be l

But they taste so good! I just can't stop eating them. And they were so cheap, 79 cents a lb Canadian. A real bargain! Good to know that others have problems with them too. I'm not unique. Thanks for your replies! **************************************

Thanks, will drink a bit more water, just in case. A bit more water can't harm. **************************************** John 4:14 (Today's New International Version) "but those who drink the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

It takes quite a while to transition/adjust to a raw/vegan diet but it is all worth it. Go at your pace and keep increasing raw fruits and greens. All the best! ________________________

At this time I seem to be attracted to dandelion because it looks so good and inviting. I'll enjoy it for now. Will see after I stop eating it if the odour of the urine changes. Thanks for your input! ___________________________________________
