It may not have been all food, but I'm guessing food played a major part. People seriously cannot think straight after eating that type of food (not just meat, all junk) for extended periods of time till their bodies are literally made of the stuff. It would also have to do with how they are brought up (no anger management skills, no way to vent their frustration non violently, no strong me

No probs coco. Goes down a treat with the kids I demonstrate fresh foods to. I see their little eyes open as they get it and realise. Why are kids so much smarter then adults in so many ways?

I showed this to my 10 year old son as we've been talking about action and how they affect the community. He was so stunned he said to me 'not even the fast fod places deserve that!' I told him that even adults can act really badly and that this is one of the reasons why we need to eat well (for our brains to actually think and be calm) and that this sort of behaviour might be linked in with t

Aw, thanks Coco, not sure if you can help me to find a place in Australia though, but I will check out permies.com. Another thing I'm looking for is to find one that's subsidised with a government grant so I can get it cheaper as I'm a low income earner. My friend did her entire permaculture design course for $50! Due to the fact that she got into a subsidised course and she is a single mot

Hey that's GREAT Coco!!!! So glad you found a place that will take kids!! I'll be looking for a place that I can do it on weekends so I can leave my son with my partner on the weeks he's with me. I work part time so it would be difficult for me to arrange to do an intensive course. Hope it goes really well for you and the kids and that it's almost like a mini holiday for you all! <3

Anywhere from 99c to $16.00 a kilo here in Melbourne. I can still get 'cheap' decentish ones for about $4 at the market, but not organic ones, I've switched to non organic ones since Yasi. There are still bananas for 99c a kilo here at Vic Market but they are pretty overripe in the true sense of the word. might still go up and buy some to freeze.

I too would love to see a typical daily diet of someone who gets most of their calories from greens, like prana, I doubt I'd fare well on such a regime, but I am open to the possibility that it might be possible. Can you post a typical daily food diary?

p.s. great post pborst! I'm a gradient person myself and think there is a bit of a false dichotomy between the fruit and the fat camps, with both portraying the other calorie source as being THE DEVIL!!! lol.

I've been itching to get home from work and reply to this thread and madinah's assertions. I can only view (not reply to threads on) this forum at work. Madinah, do you even understand how a cow's digestive system works and how very different it is to a human digestive system? Cows are what's known as ruminants, they have multiple stomachs in order to process the very large amounts of grass

I haven't read all the posts, I just can't, it's so horrible. I'll be making my puny contribution tomorrow and donating $50 to an aid agency working in Japan. I hope there is a speedy recovery and that the people of Japan get the help and support they so desperately need. poor people!

Being authentic is following your own path, and being honest with yourself when you diverge from that path onto a path that you feel others expect of you.

My son had his first 'life education' class at about 8 yrs of age. They have a mobile bus that goes around all the schools and has lots of different body pics and stuff. Thing is he already knew most of it, literally. We'd discussed this stuff ever since he could talk whenever it came up. Why is this such a huge deal for people in the US? Those pics are weird, why not simply make them anato
