Sadly, the formation of the dental palate is determined largely by what your mother ate while you were in utero. It's epigenetic. If you teach your kids well, and they teach THEIR kids well, your grandkids might get to reap some of the benefits. I hope I can live long enough to see it! I do hope I also get to avoid the dentist as much as possible. >.> Staying alkaline as possible a

Ever since that happened, I started lying during my interviews and say I'm not vegan if people ask. What a dreadful world. My current boss is raw-curious (everything works out in the end!). I came to work one day and he was like, "HEY!!! Have you heard of Durianrider?!!" And I'm like, "Oh god... don't listen to that guy!!" I will try the garlic next time.

Tom's of Maine makes one (but they also make some WITH fluoride, so read the labels!). Green Beaver (star anise) and Desert Essence (ginger) are pretty clean and tasty, those two are my favorite... Jason also makes some but I don't think it's quite as pure... Lots of stuff at health food stores to choose from. I dunno if Burt's Bees makes toothpaste, but they were bought out by Clorox. Rea

I only listed qualifications which were specifically pertinent to the job, I just happened to fill them at a vegan establishment (the place had an obviously vegan name, that was all).

I'm not sure of the details surrounding gum implants, but using a water flosser daily can halt the progression of gum disease and keep your mouth squeaky clean to prevent further damage. I'd recommend googling it, there are some interesting and relatively neutral published studies about how it can improve bleeding and other problems... Also, lots of minerals in the diet are good for the mou

Hey Paul, would you care to kindly share the details of the above mentioned delicious-sounding tomato sauce? Eventually, all the centarians get little newspaper articles written about them. My secret is going to be headstands and kalechips. I use the dehydrator less than most people use a TV. I wonder what the legitimate power consumption actually is--dehydrators are basically a small fan.

It's several magnitudes of order cheaper to make your own treats vs. order out, plus you can make a purer, fresher, product, exactly to your liking. Also, not every place on earth has access to such treats. It depends on who you live with and who you're cooking for, too. I don't ever crave SAD foods anymore, I've burned that bridge a while ago. But sometimes I do want something DENSE, somet

I've been dehydrating forever since I've had access to one. The trick to save yourself headaches... is to make a massive recipe when you get around to it. Pack the dehydrator to the max with crackers, don't just make a sheet. Then you can freeze them... and won't have to make anything for another eight weeks. Kale chips are another story. Those don't last a day. >8) Cleaning it isn't

So, really, the best solution to all of these problems would to be go all out and have a neo-raw-Viking-Lord burial: lie down in a boat and have someone ship you out to sea on a mountain of fruit (and maybe some signal flares or something). Just in case... you do wake up. I think there is also something really poetic about being put in the dirt and eaten by trees. Yes, they feed us, but tha

I was totally denied employment (during interview) at certain places simply for having affiliated with vegan establishments in the past. Some people are just outright PREJUDICED. It astounds me. Like, seriously, it is 2012. Global society is upon us. I made it to the fourth interview at one really competitive place, and my credentials are OUT FREAKING STANDING. I interview awesomely well. H

More pure, unadulterated, raw olives for me. I would NEVER eat olive bar olives (or canned olives, for that matter). For example, because some people microwave broccoli, does that mean you would stop eating broccoli all together? Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. You only eat good foods. Only eat good olives. End of story. Beginning of the rest of your life with lovely salad!

That's why I think it's so important to support any green business initiative possible. It's the only way things are going to change (unless you want to go back to the stone age, I don't, I like my amenities and like to think we can exist with technology, sustainably and compassionately).

That's why it's worth shelling out the extra cash to get them from companies that tell you exactly how they're cured (herbs, sea salt, vinegar nothing more)... Most commercial black olives in a can are actually picked green and dyed black. I would never eat anything less than top-quality olives... you can really taste the difference, too.

Sores from eating too much fruits are more likely canker sores, not cold sores. I'd trade these bad boys for canker sores any day. Cold sores are literally from the HERPES virus (oral variety) resting in the spine, I believe, and they travel out to the mouth when the immune system is compromised (stress, sickness, lack of sleep). The lysine is helping SO MUCH! The first time I had them, they

I got them ONCE when I was under an insanely extreme amount of stress. It was emotional, it was anger, just exploding literally out of my face. Never had them again... Until this week... tomorrow my work week will clock in around 85 hours. If you can't get basics like rest even with a raw food diet, it will run the body down. It was a weird week. Anyway. I get some time off soon. Als

Does anyone have any experience with natural remedies for cold sores? I'm having a nasty attack. I think they're here because I'm working completely stupid overtime hours... and I only had them ONE other time in my life, YEARS ago... when I was working completely stupid overtime hours. -.- I SHOULD have been using black tea bags as a compress every few hours at the first signs of symptoms, but

Uhh, doesn't anyone remember what happened to Claudia in The Vampire Armand? =\ Dr. Robert White attempted many head transplants in the 1960s on animals... DEFINITELY NOT VEGAN. I think there are a lot of crazy ideas out there that flirt with transhumanism, but in my core I just don't think science will ever be able to crack "the mystery," that ineffable magic bit about life, the

Nearly HALF of organ donors still show signs of life according to Harvard standards when harvested: That's a HUGE percentage. Huge! Is it right to take an invalid's organs and rob them the right of a peaceful passage into the next realm because they can't speak to defend themselves? Because they are disposable in the eyes of this temporal society? One of the things that came up again
