I wonder if that works for old stretch marks... I got them on my thighs when I was about 13 and starting growing a lot (I'm 24 now and still pretty small for all that growing).

hey, I'm having the same curiosity. I'm real small, and I look pretty young. I want to define and build muscle. I work out with heavy weights, and I'm definitely stronger and faster than ever. But when it comes to really benefitting the most from raw foods, I'm a little mystified. I've been eating tons (literally...like 3-5 pounds) of greens, plus fruit and hemp. It's working. slowly.

if you get to SF, try chinatown. then you'll start "doing durian" too. I haven't had one for weeks, but yesterday I thought of them, and I swear to god I tasted it instantly in my whole head and throat (those of you who have had one know this engulfing feeling from them, yes?)

so, let's not complain, but laugh. we know how to do this at a lower cost. It's a matter of making space and time to do so... sprouting our own planting our own joining a co-op mono on bananas... buy from the overripe bin I eat about 1200kcal a day, on 80/10/10/frutarian+vitamins+tea, for about $6-10 a day. the 10 side if I have to grab from more pricey markets while I'm busy. I know

ha! no! no bulkiness--I'm stronger than I've been in my whole life. I've lifted for 6 years now, but only since being raw have I really been able to improve my strength consistently. thanks for responding, F1. and for giving the blessin gon the running and swimming! sometimes we don't really need answers or criticism--just plain reassurance.

what IS going on? are the greens in danger, or was this all a misunderstanding? I want a two sentence answer: what is the USDA doing? what are they NOT doing? please be concise and CLEAR.

I am wondering about mono-eating (for days at a time) and weight lifting. I I am trying to put on some muscle mass, and train with weights daily (alternating of course...). I also do cardio daily--I know that to seriously build muscle I should back off cardio, but it makes me too happy to quit. Anyway. I love mono-eating once a month for a few days to a week. I've done apples every time

I also take vitamins: multi calclium and EFA I started taking them to help my hair stay put on my head. (it worked). when I mono (about once a month for a week on apples), I don't take them.

I wonder what your temperateure is? and it seems like that's a pretty severe detox for only being about 75% raw. In fact, my opinion is that at 75%, it's more like a very healthy diet than cleansing...everyone's different and you know your body and yourself. I'm very curious about what Bryan and David have to say. (and everyone of course!) but this sounds fairly concerning...

thanks for the reassuring comments. I don't know why I'm looking for pain/discomfort to validate being raw. Maybe these crazy thoughts ARE my detox...

hey veganathlete I went to RISD in Providence. I went veg'n when I was 18, and it was real easy there. The students are all real liberal and pretty down with alternative choices. There are two whole foods within walking distance of the campus. (less than a mile). There are also a few gourmet grocers around. I don't know about raw restaurants, but poor college students don't dine out anyw

I've been raw for 8 months now. I pretty much went in cold turkey--and maintain about 95-99%. I had no ailments at the time. I've never taken medication for any extended periods. I was veg'n for 5-6 years before that. My question is: Where is the physical detox? I had some emotional cleansing to do--out of a relationship. Now that's through, and and I'm wondering... does it come up sud

from: a small town in Massachusetts lived: -Providence -Outer Cape Cod (the far-from-everything part) -Portland OR -Western Mass -LA -NYC Cape Cod was my favorite overall. NY is the easiest for being raw... but really, I think it depends on the people you surround yourself with. Supportive accomodating understanding friends in a meat-packing town would be an easier place to be raw th

tell people at the office that you're raw. that way, you'll want to live up to your word. I find that I'm less likely to be tempted around people who know I'm raw. as opposed to being around my folks/grandparents who still are getting the hang of my being veg'n (6 years now...).

I'm sorry I was so quick to worry yesterday. going raw has put me in touch with things in myself--beyond food--that are invaluable. I have not had an eating disorder. but sometimes I look at the way I relate to foods (cooked) that are NOT EVIL, and am scared at how scared I am of them. So I projected my own phobias onto you. sorry sorry.

oh dear. - that list is not much food, which explains a possibly low metab. (nor is it vegetarian, let alone vegan) - no one on here is an ED therapist (to my knowledge). - eating raw is wonderful and amazing and light and beautiful. BUT. it can be somewhat antisocial at first. which is difficult for anyone...and if isolation and secrecy were any part of your ED, I'd be wary. - ya

I eat fruit all day long, all kinds. before bed I eat a head of romaine or a whole bunch of celery--then a couple apples first thing in the morning, this keeps my BMs quite regular.

this happens to me when I eat seedless watermelon, and seedless grapes. Anaken told me that it has something to do with metabolizing the sugars, and that it's better to eat these after a workout, while my metab is up. I also mono apples pretty regularly. I don't think it's the apples--I think it's certain people's sensitivities to certain fruits. my ex says that avocados and red onions

I don't know where I'm staying yet. There used to be this place called Blew Dogs, but it changed hands last year. So I don't know anymore. It's a surfing town. surfing. all the time. there are boat trips for a bit fo money if you're into that...mostly fishing though. There's cool hiking, but not through the rainforest like you might be picturing. I love it there though...lots of littl

I thought I was going crazy!! this has happened to me and I thought I was really losing it...I just didn't make the connection with raw food, salt, etc. ha! really glad I saw this post. however, the trouble is, I already have a hard time finding shoes in a 5---now a 4&1/2? eek.

I love durian. though, the first time I had it, I made the mistake of cutting it open in my tiny little NYC apt. The next morning, I was so nauseated by the refuse --I threw away what was left...taking the effort to throw it out outside, 7 FLOORS DOWN. The onion-garlic taste definitely stays with me a few days. but, once in a while it's a nice treat...and fun to share with out of town friends.

I usually AVOID email, ipod, wristwatch...all of it, when I go to costa. IF i check it, it would likely be just once midweek. It's a small enough town, if you're there you could ask around for the girl travelling with her two blonde brothers.

I like that idea, arkay. I've been eating in such a way, where I only eat what appeals to me--looking for real needs in my body. I suppose that looking for a way to mask the bitterness doesn't fall into that mode. I'll incorporate your suggestion of learning to like the bitter flavor, and if that doesn't work, I'll not buy dandelion again; it's so simple, but sometimes my mind wants everyth
