Yes, my ear problems were more than likely a cause of sinus infection, and other bodily infections. The underarm lymph glands that swelled scared me because it was such a clear danger signal as to how toxic my body was and how much I need to get rid of the toxic waste. I have been body brushing for the whole time since going raw..more than 4 yrs I believe. I also have these great scrubing

When I first went raw, I got about a month into it and then I got ear infections..both ears and I am not one prone to ear infections. They got so bad, that I ended up having to go to the Dr's. and getting an anti-biotic..it was terribly painful so I really felt I had to. I also ended up getting a really weird symptom later on..the gland under my arms got very red, and swollen and very painful.

Oh..ouch..I hate cuts on my hands..so bothersome! I cut my thumb once while washing a glass that had broken under a sink full of sudsy water. You might mix up some coconut oil, tea tree oil and lavender essential oil to apply when the stitches come out. It may help with lessoning the scar. Love, Prism

Well..I have 2 sons, the first one I breast fed for about 6 weeks, then he was bottle fed. He ate the typical diet until he was about 3, then I got Adelle Davis books, like Let's have healthy children and changed his diet to her recommendations. He never had a cavity, and had perfect teeth. He's 30 years old now and he still has strong, straight nice teeth. My youngest son was breastfed for 2

I drink my fresh green juice like it's medicine. I try to vary the greens, but I really like adding a small amount of dandelion greens. My fav. is celery, carrots, spinach, and dandelion greens. I didn't care for wheatgrass juice..not that I didn't like it..it is actually sweet..but for some reason just didn't feel right to me. It could be that I was/am not ready for health wise for it. Lov

Oh yeah..isn't it good to be back I am just getting back on raw as a 2007 resolution. I took my little dog to the beach tonight and had a nice walk. Got to see the lights on the pier, watch the waves and appreciate that it's January and it's really balmy and I'm right at the beach! Can't beat that for some happy delirium! Love, Prism

I just read the book The Coconut Oil Miracle, and you might want to check that out. I have added organic virgin coconut oil to my raw diet which I just started back on Jan. 1st along with my room-mate. We are both hypothyroid, and she also has some other health issues..so we both get cold easily..she much more so then me. I believe the coconut oil helps me. I add it to my smoothies ususally. I

I bought 4 young coconuts, and while the water from them is ok (I prefer the water from the mature coconut), I just don't like the meat inside. I do use a small scoop to add to my smoothie that I make with the water and that's ok because I use other fruits like bananas and fresh pineapple, which masks the young coconut taste. Anyone else not like young coconuts? Also, I'm wondering which wate

I just read the book, The Coconut Oil Miracle..it's an excellent read. I myself will be eating more fresh coconut (bought 4 young coconuts recently) and drinking the water. I highly recommend the book for an interesting read. Love, Prism

I agree that Soy byproducts are not good for a person and even has been linked to agresssion in kids who drank baby formula made from it. Eventually those relatives and people we know will get ill from their excesses of smoking, drinking, overeating. I know this because my sister died from related complications from obesity and she was 60. Friends, relatives, dying of cancer..these are people

You can try some warm soapy water with some bleach in it..to cleanse and whiten the nails. I just watched Martha today and on her show she showed a cool way to get those seeds out of poms. Cut in half, hold half in one hand over a bowl, hit the skin bottom of the pom with the back of a wooded spoon until the seeds are all popped out. Do that with as many halves as you like. Looked easy, see

I saw Martha today..deseeding a pom. She cut it in half, flipped it upside down on her hand, and hit with the flat end of a wood spoon the skin portion until all the seeds popped out into her hand and bowl..looked easy and took no time at all..and the seeds were intact with no pulpy stuff in them. The raw food diet I've figured out on fitday.com for myself is 30% fat, 67% carbs, 7% protein. That would be on most days that I'll be staying on all raw foods. This is what I will be eating when on an all raw day..fruits are interchangeable as is the salad mixes. 2 Bananas 4 apples 2 oranges 1 C cantalope almonds 10-20 1-2 C green salad 1 C orange juice 1 C green veg juice distill

I've found the hardest thing to change is your mindset. It takes determination to make changes to ones own nature or routine. Thinking in a different way is difficult, that's why support is so key..the knowldege you gain from listening to others experiences. About Jay Leno..we don't know anything about what is going on inside his body, or his brain..hopefully he is health inside and out..but t

I feel the same way..that my body wants mostly fruits, and when I was high raw I only really liked to get my greens with fresh juice. The first year large salads were hard to digest. After the first year, I could eat bigger salads and more often. Somehow trying to be high raw again..I have some guilt over just eating fruits..maybe because I went thru a transition to eating more greens..and I'm

I'm thinking of buying the book..but am afraid of going off the fruits that are helping me stay clear of the other sugary foods..and sometimes the craving is so strong I give in. Keep up posted on what you eat on the diet, and how you like it..I'm interested. Love, Prism

I don't eat the citrus seeds, but I do not mind eating watermelon seeds. I've also dryed the watermelon seeds and ground them and made tea which is a good kidney cleansing tea. I love tomatoe and cucumber seeds, and don't buy those seedless cucumbers. Love, Prism

If you love nuts, and seeds, and they are the culprits in giving you pain, then why not blend them into nut and seed butters. You also could have what I think is called Pica..the uncontrollable urge to eat things we know is not good or us. I don't know if food items count though..but you did say it was an uncontrollable urge. You could try taking chewable enzyme tabs..like papaya ones to help

I was interested in a raw retreat too, and I've been looking around. My real belief though is that I can do this on my own and with the support of boards like this, and maybe a local raw food pot luck once in a while. I'd have loved to find a few people interested in being a cell phone support system..no luck there. Here's a link that may help you in your search. Love, Prism

I just bought an electric citrus juicer so I can juice oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes. I think it would work with pomegranates. Are you thinking of juicing whole pomegranates? Let me know how it works out with your Breville as I also have that type of juicer. I love Pom and cran juice..and cranberries are out now. Love, Prism
