Raw1228, After you lost it and posted all kinds of porn and violent messages most people here responded with kindness and compassion... now you are ranting at the entire community because some of the members don't share your view of weed and alcohol. Now, only a few weeks later you are qualified to judge other peoples health choices? Obsessing about other peoples health choices is just a way

Yoga, yoga and more yoga.... That's why i have barely been on these boards anymore. I had my first class about 10 weeks ago and i can't get enough... now I'm 7 days/ week at least 3 hours a day. I've started to leave work in the middle of the day to get my fix... sometimes I'll stay at the yoga studio and just do class after class... and when there isn't a yoga class offered, I'll pop into a

Hi javacado, The Master Cleanse was a catalyst for me when I was pre-raw and eating a terrible diet. I did it for 21 days, but I added fresh green coconut water to the lemonade mixture. I lost 30 lbs and shortly afterwards I went raw vegan. That was last May and now I am at a perfect weight...70lbs less that i weighed a year ago. Now that I'm raw and feeling pretty clean, I don't think I w

Vivre La Différence!!! My nipples only get sore if I surf without a rash-guard... raw has made no difference with that...and I still can't surf worth a darn.

The main requirement for a good dehydrator is that it has a thermostat to control the temperature and a fan to distribute the heat. Most inexpensive dehydrators just have a heating element at the bottom of the trays so chances are, you will still be "cooking" your food. I keep my Excalibur at a very low setting (<100 degrees) and everything comes out fine. I'm actually snacking on

It's basically a marketing ploy. Herbicides are used to control weeds, but weeds would not occur anyway in a controlled hydroponic environment. However molds, fungi and insects could be a problem in such an environment, so you won't see them say "grown without pesticides or fungicides" on the label. Also, most large scale hydroponic growers will probably use some sort of chemical fer

I was heavily pierced for many years(at least a dozen piercings including stretched ear lobes). I had removed most of my facial piercings before going raw, but since raw i have removed all of the others. They just started to feel bothersome. I always said that I would only wear jewelery that needed to be "installed', so i never got into necklaces or rings or anything that could be easily

I've had a rare glass of wine since going raw and I haven't noticed anything major except that i've lost the taste for it. I don't think i could handle anything harder.

I'm definitely channeling all of that energy into my yoga/breathwork/meditation practices currently and it has been an amazing transformation...but, that being said, I think I would enjoy having both a vigorous yoga practice and sex life, if an ideal situation presented itself. Yes...I know I would. ...and now if you'll excuse me, I have 108 sun salutations to do before I go to sleep....

Yes, plants do get energy from the sun, but they also take in nutrients and water through their roots. If you left a seed on a rock in the sunlight without any water it probably wouldn't sprout...if it did, it probably wouldn't grow very much without water and nutrients. Personally, even if it were possible, I wouldn't like to be a breatharian. There are so many wonderful flavors to enjoy

I love discussions about spirituality. ...and for the record, to me there is a vast difference between "religion" and spirituality. I feel that the blind adherence to dogma, whether religious or atheist is equally ignorant. These debates arise because people are trying to use words to convey an idea that defies language. Organised religion fails because it tries to define very n

Thanks Lightform! ...right back at ya! I've been thinking about TV and group consciousness a lot lately. Not just TV, but mass culture. I think it started when I read about a meditation experiment in Washington DC, where several thousand people came together and focused on lowering the violent crime rate... and indeed there was a reduction in violent crime of over 20%. So it got me thin

Yes..awesome video coco! I was touched in the same way LaV, ...when he said he is happier now. I think I was touched because that statement represents a consciousness shift. When we get to the point that we see our previous "curses" as gifts, it has a profound effect on us and everyone around us. I recently had a shift like this regarding my fathers Alzheimer's... i had been so s

Reading is definitely doing. Is doing only defined as some sort of physical activity? Being is the essence of doing. If you do without being, it seems to me that you are really just trying to escape from yourself. The beauty is in being what you are doing...even, and especially, if you are doing nothing... which in my opinion is one of the most enlightening things to do and be. Wha

get rid of your TV!!!! you can download anything specific that you want to watch from the internet ...without the commercials. Join netflix if you want visual entertainment, they have an awesome selection of documentaries...lots of Dalai Lama videos, good independent films... much more uplifting choices than TV. I canceled my cable last month and have never felt better. I have more time

I know i bring up this book often, but I would again suggest "The China Study". The author cites some research that indicates that a whole-food plant based diet, rich in antioxidants, helps protect the body against the harmful effects of toxic chemicals. So while organic would obviously be much better, I find this information comforting for everyone who cannot afford it.

Yes, I agree with Flex... it is so much more about the healthy vibe for me these days. When a woman is healthy in mind, body and spirit she glows from within... her inner beauty becomes much more noticeable than mere descriptive physical qualities like eye color, hair style, body type etc. I've often said about some of my close healthy female friends that they are so beautiful that I don't even

Yes, with most conventionally grown pineapple, the plants are sprayed last when the fruit is still very small. Sometimes plants are fumigated to force ripening, but not always. Usually, it's a few months between the last chem application and the harvest, so that and the fact that it has a thick skin makes it an OK choice for a conventionally grown fruit....in my opinion(but I'm not sure what ha

Yes, Very invasive! This plant will root from even a tiny length of stem thrown on the ground and will soon choke out all other plant life. Once it is established it's almost impossible to control and besides, I'm not sure that the greens are good to eat, though I know that the root is used much like corn starch. I have worked for many years as a conservationist in the native forests of Maui
