rost, The bioterrorism part is a question I have about an attack on our food supply. Poisons and toxins that are released into the air, or water, and poison our food supply. Granted, if such an event happens, everyone will be affected, but it seems to me that those who cook their food might have a slightly easier time of it because canned food can be stored and used sparingly. Raw foodists eat

Again, I want to say that eating raw, vegan food isn't something I'm stressing out about. I choose to do it and it works well for me! I'm just glad that my body has adapted so quickly to eating raw. I ate two cooked meals during this, my first week, and they both caused my stomach to hurt and I was very uncomfortable. There's no question in my mind that raw works or that I'm doing what's best

I haven't heard carob mentioned on the boards yet. (Except in this thread.) Does anyone here eat that? I've seen people go ga-ga for cacao and I thought I was missing something so I tried it. It's not for me.

When people say "chocolate" are they talking about raw cacao or a Snickers Bar? I can't imagine raw cacao being addictive without the sweetness. It's so bitter and dusty tasting. I don't enjoy it at all. I also felt nothing by way of highs, lows, mood swings, joy or sorrow. I ate about two ounces of it! My mouth just felt like I ate dirt all I wanted was water.

Bryan, I appreciate you so much. I've always enjoyed your outlook, your common sense and your straight-forwardness. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions, as ignorant as they might be. I've never been too proud to learn and my questions do come from a place of sincerity and not out of challenging anyone. Your answers were helpful. I'm not looking so much for scientific

Hawaii is definitely a possibility. To be honest, the biggest draw to going to Hawaii would be to see Maui_Greg and maui_butterfly. That would be a bigger gift than seeing whales or anything else. They've both become dear to me here. I've been to the big island before. I'm trying to remember when I was there. It was in the early 90's I believe. I was on the big island, along the Kalapa

Forgive my ignorance. What's the difference between cacao and carob? I've had both. Why is cacao dried and carob soft? I've never understood this. The cacao I've tried tasted dirty.

QuoteI understand that vegetables and fruit is bad food combing. Really? I'm new to this so I haven't gotten to study everything yet. Why is this a bad combination? I usually put a small bit of fruit in my salads and green smoothies.

My biggest fear about raw foods is that I will crave onions. Silly as that sounds, I'm very serious. I loathe them. I would rather battle Satan himself than eat an onion! If you like onions, Grayzie, then eat away! Happy detoxing and I hope, more than anything, that your excema goes away permanently. That has to be just miserable to deal with. My very best well wishes to you!

Oh, boy, now I've gone and gotten all interested in this topic. Being new to the raw food lifestyle, I'll be watching this with sprouted breath to learn the results. I love and respect David for who he is as a person. And I thought the YouTube responses were gracious of Brian Clement (?) to give. His attitude did seem to be a bit off-putting at times, but I guess if your reputation is being s

The blended meals and smoothies are a nice break from all the chewing everything else takes. I do both. I have to admit, I prefer the blended meals and the smoothies, though.

I've had a lot going on in my life. I need a vacation. I haven't had one in seven years. It's definitely time. I need help thinking of an interesting vacation to take, though. After seven years, I'd like something fun, adventurous and relaxing at the same time. I can take up to two weeks to do it. I'm looking for something fun, unique and interesting, but nothing too active. Rest, relax

We lead by our example, not in words. I don't care how much someone knows until I know they're living what they preach. If someone is raving about a particular way of eating, saying others should try it, immediately I look at them. Do they look healthy? How is their skin? How are their eyes? Are they too fat or too skinny? How's their energy? How's their mood and attitude? I watch them

Believe me, this isn't the norm! It's a significant treasure, actually! I'm in Minneapolis. An apartment like this, in this area, would normally go for about $1,100 - $1,200 per month. It's a condominium complex and the owners are missionaries in Africa. They're more interested in finding someone who will take care of their property. The last tenant practically destroyed everything. I co

Does anyone do anything with their avocado pits? Do you root them and try to grow them? How about pits/seeds from other fruits? Does anyone eat any of them, plant them or crush them for the oils, etc.?

We'll have to see how it goes in my new apartment in May. VERY excited to move in! $600 month for all of the following: - 1 block from Whole Paycheck, er, I mean Whole Foods. - 1 1/2 blocks from a lake with great walking paths around it. - 1 bedroom with a guest room. - Fully furnished with new items. - Kitchen fully stocked, including a juicer! - 52" plasma tv on the wall. -

Ooh, moving pictures! Helpful! I haven't gotten into sprouting yet, but I intend to. As for YouTube, I never visited that site until mid-January of this year. I thought it was full of porn and raunchy, horrible things. I got that idea because anytime someone mentioned YouTube it was always about something I found horrific. It was a link to a YouTube video about Matt Monarch that tur

I don't understand enzymatic action or how it reacts to hot and cold. Is it a bad thing to consume hot or cold foods and beverages? I do drink my water at room temperature. I lived in Europe for a spell and got used to not having ice. So much so that I don't want cold beverages anymore. I always ask for "no ice."

Hello Witarianin, As you requested, the references I have made to Jesus eating meat are listed below. It seems the main difference between us is how we each view the Bible. That's going to make a big difference in our viewpoints. Here are some scriptures about Jesus eating meat and about meat being okay to eat. (Again, it's not required, it's just okay. I choose not to, myself.) When J

At my co-op, the difference is the price. The golden flaxseed is more expensive. When I asked them this question once, they said there really isn't much of a difference.

Don't be too hasty! Listen to David and don't get hung up on the word "raw." Those items you have aren't unhealthy. (The only product you have that I question is the soy lecithin.) They can help you transition into 100% raw. As David says, "There are no raw food police." You had a purpose in mind for them when you bought them. Use them and then don't buy them anymore.

Who needs television with this kind of drama?! LOL Go out there and show him the fruit of your labors, David! How long do you get to stay? Is he putting you up in a nice hotel? Will you be able to squeeze a day or two of vacationing into all this? Are we there yet? Did you buy me anything? Oops... sorry. Flashbacks to childhood....

I didn't buy a whole pound, but I got a good-sized chunk of it! Everyone at work kept saying, "What is that? Cheese? You eat something that looks like that?" After I tell them what it is, they change their tune: "Ooh! Can I try?" Cookers. What do you do with them? LOL Someone mentioned taking it into the bath tub with you. With the oily sheen it has, you'd have to
