I'm 27, male, and I still get acne. Having an outbreak right now after being clear for a long time. Been eating the same diet (high fruit, low fat, high greens) for the last 6 months, so surely it can't be diet. I wonder if it's hormonal? Or stress? But I don't consider myself stressed. This really befuddles me.

What do you say to people who tell you eating too much fruit will make you fat? They say your body converts excess sugar to fat if you don't burn it all off through exercise. I often get this a lot when I tell people how much fruit I eat and they say they cannot eat that much fruit because it will make them gain weight. I don't care enough to reason with them because I've never had any problems.

I'm following a low-fat, high-fruit diet and was wondering what I should eat seeds with (when I do eat them). I like flax and chia seeds right now. Could I add them to water and drink it at the end of the day?

What are the negative effects? I've used nut yeast in the past but never noticed any negative effects. If I eat raw tomatoes though I get a pounding headache.

I don't know how to pick one out. Sometimes they're green, sometimes they look like they have mold on them but they're still green, and sometimes they're yellow. I have no idea how to select one or how to identify different breeds. Any tips?

On some days I feel satiated on around 1000 calories. I feel pretty good, too. But on an average day I top out at around 1800-1900, which is supposedly the minimum for me to survive. And I still exercise and STILL feel good. Am I just getting enough nutrients? Is this normal? Is BMI/BMR a bunch of mumbo jumbo? I feel like I should be wasting away by now from a scientific standpoint, but it

This supermarket near me sells bags of organic fuji apples for cheap. Problem is some of the apples are bruised. I usually perform surgery, but is it really a big deal?

I was wondering.... would it be considered rotating if you ate green curly kale one week and purple kale the next week? Heck, I've had 4 different types of kale in the past month. Would it qualify as rotating though?

I don't have access to spring water from a tap, what would be the best alternative? Would "natural spring water" from the store suffice? Reverse osmosis? Fiji water?

What if there was a restaurant you could go to that always has ripe fruit? And they sliced it into fancy shapes for you and plated it. And you could just enjoy fruit at a window table. And there was a fruit salad bar. You could get banana ice cream, too. And durian ice cream. All fruit, all the time. Could this work?

I don't think there's any fiber in those drinks. I had one at an airport one time for breakfast and it wasn't what I needed before a 5-hour flight, I'll tell you that much lol.

I just found out flax seeds are extremely high in phytoestrogens. I did not know lignans were a type of phytoestrogen. Does this pose a health problem for men? Should this seed be cut out altogether?

My asthma has returned after many years with no symptoms. I attributed it to cutting out dairy and meat. But recently I have been having symptoms. I've moved into a new house and gutted the place, exposing myself to lots of dust. I bought some masks but it was too late. Online I found that ACV can soothe symptoms, and it did help. But what else can I do? Will my respiratory system always be sus

Is it more about the ratio than the amount? Cause you could just eat more leafy greens and limit your O-6, no? I eat flax for the O-3. I too got bad gas from flax oil, it's a waste of money anyway. Maybe try to build up your tolerance to flax seed. I stick to just 1 tbl/day.

Great article, Debbie! Finally, someone spreading information I can use instead of the scare tactics and superfood peddling that has been plaguing the raw food movement as of late.

I was never keen on celery, but I liked it in my smoothies for the sodium and alkalinity. It's much cheaper than cucumbers. Now I love celery. I can put up to 4 stalks in a smoothie. But if I put 2 I can't even taste it. Try a handful of leafy greens, 2 stalks celery, and 4-6 cups of fruit. A little water, too. Oh, and frozen berries are good also to cancel out any remaining bitterness.

Have you ever experienced a mineral imbalance? I fear I may be getting too much of a particular mineral and throwing another one off.

I have to say, I frequent several raw food forums, and this one packs the most punch . Everyone seems even keeled and very knowledgeable. The people here provide lots of links and seem hard pressed to find the truth and bring it to light. Whenever I have a question I feel like my best bet is to ask it here. Cheers to the entire community.
