The other day I was making a smoothie and I had some organic barley flakes lying around and I threw them in the Vitamix with everything. Tasted pretty good. I thought about it--the reason I even liked protein powder was that gritty gravitas that it provided. So I am looking right now at really raw oats. I see that they are $7 a pound but the shipping doubles the price. Maybe I could get some s

I think it's Tarah, AKA, 40 Below Fruity. She called her flaky in the past after Tarah had made her own video about their split. "As the Durian Turns..."

Thanks, Suez! I am not concerned about consuming the fat but if I were to use a coffee grinder if it would overburden the machine. I like the idea of throwing them in a VM. But I also will looking into the nibs. Might be a nice medium.

It looks to me to be a bit of a scam in some ways. First of all, to remove the cocoa butter means they can make money off cacao twice! I have never bought cacao butter. I think it would be delicious in raw candies. Yes, the whole beans seem like a plan but HOW to blend such hard things? Would I grind them in a coffee grinder? What about all that fat? The bottom line is that cocoa powder and c

I have bought raw cacao several times, I believe. This one is supposed to be different--better in some way. When I tried it, it didn't seem to contain as much fat as the last brand--like when I used it in a blended beverage it didn't separate as much as the other one did. On the label it said 1 gram of fat per serving. I also had a container of Trader Joe's cocoa powder and it has the same amount

Click on the link. Something about cold processing. I know that with olive oil they sometimes use rocks or something like that. It's an old technique that doesn't generate much heat.

What are whole oats compared to oat groats? From my understanding, there IS a version of rolled oats that are raw. What I like about this is that if I want to make a crust and don't want to make it 100% out of nuts, I could include this.

Kiwibird, I was just thinking about oat groats! Are you using those or really raw flakes? I would imagine that the groats would sprout since they are in their unprocessed form unless they treat them somehow.

I am 49 and will be 50 this year. I believe you are two years younger than I am. Why this is pertinent info is puzzling but not really. It plays into the idea of a woman having to be a certain age to be viable. From John Rose: 1. They desire to make someone else suffer A bitter person might spew their inner hurt and anger by saying and doing things that hurt the feelings of others, exh

John, this post is so true it's uncomfortable. These people are energy vampires. For some reason, they are envious of others' Light and seek to sully it and bring down the good vibes so they can feed off the dark energy that is generated. What makes them particularly dangerous is that they can have a good side which they use to lure in their prey for another feasting on darkness. I consider mysel

Bracing myself for the "OMG you are GOSSIPING!!!" nonsense. In any case, this morning I watched Freelee mention that a certain "flaky" raw vegan will be going over there and that she didn't want any flakes to participate. Oh and that they were fake AND flakes. Acting nicey-nice online and different in person? In any case, I find it hard to believe that a frenemy would travel 1

I no longer believe in karma like you use it. That enslaves people into the Matrix mentality of being trapped and having to pay something back that they did. I believe that "sin" is due to ignorance and once you receive the Light that allows you to see how much you erred, it instantly erases what you have done. This is a bit similar to the Christian thinking of receiving Christ and your

Four words: crazy like a fox. Duh. I mean, the more eyeballs she gets to her channel, the more subs she gets, Yeah, she lost 1000 subs the other day but did she tell you how many she probably GAINED? Of course not. It's guerilla marketing at the end of the day. Whatever it takes in their book. She probably looks at Youtube analytics and sees the average age of her viewers, which is probably 17. S

After this year, I should add. Saw the video last night: I find this a bit strange, to be honest. I am wondering more and more if this is just a gimmick to gin up sales. Why? David Arnstein (I think that is the man talking?) said that due to some legal/liability issues being too high coupled with some other factor (probably lower attendance but I can't recall), they would not be continuing

Who is your master?! Inquiring minds here! Rajneesh/Osho? Love him, if so. One last parting gift, in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson--an advanced soul, IMO: “In my walks, every man I meet is my superior in some way, and in that I learn from him.” Now that's what I'm talking about!
