thanks for the reply, rawbabie! LOL, it's funny to think of ackee as being a cooked food :-) It must be amazing seeing this interesting fruit hanging on trees in nature! I don't know why, but I'd imagine raw ackee as having the texture of uncooked tofu!

I tried this for the first time today. It was tinned (blah!) in salt water (blah!), but I desperately wanted to try it- doing my big macho 'I want to try every fruit/veg I can lay my hands on!' thing! Oh my, did it taste weird! It kind of smelt eggy (looks like scrambled eggs), and tasted like big chunks of margarine. Very weird. Like avocado, but not as nice. I've read the toxicity stuff o

i got mine in the uk from www.detoxyourworld.com before i got one, all I could think of was how much better food was going to be, but once the novelty of courgetti wore off, it barely got used! It does make very pretty garnishes though :-)

LOL, yeah I definitely agree with you there. I remember having a party when I was a kid and my friend kept picking up my neighbours cat (who was friendly, but was very heavy and hated being picked up) and wouldn't leave the poor guy alone!

i thought some sprouts (microgreens like broccoli etc) HAD to have sunlight? My sprouts look so miserable when they don't have any sun! "Hey, it's cold in here!"

I'd been guzzling green & herbal teas a little while ago, now, I find the stuff dehydrates me so I've been drinking it less (usually to warm me up in the cold weather we've been having). I find having a break from the caffeine teas- and then going back on it is a good reminder of how powerful a stimulant it is! But hey, if it makes being raw easier in the longterm, then you can always wea

LOL, yeah I would love to do a test but being kinda poor, that isn't going to happen until I get rich :-) I don't mind the taste of dirt- it tastes more like food than fast food does!

43. Soil!
If I went into my garden and ate a spoonful of soil, would there be any B12 in that soil? If so, what would be the harmful effects of eating the soil in contrast with the benefit of natural B12 as opposed to synethtic? (Cyanocobalamin) I'm not about to start eating my garden for breakfast, just asking out of curiosity

That's what I thought too. Exhaustion can be a funny thing. Sometimes it makes you feel euphoric and/or hypersensitive.

Have you spoken to a vet yet? I know that vets and rodents don't always go well together, but if the thing is getting bigger and is closing the little guy's eye, it may be distressing for him? Maybe someone can suggest a website for rodent vetinary advice/questions on this matter?

I was coming back from work today and this cute little female tortoiseshell cat ran out from nowhere and miaowed hello and came up for a cuddle. When I got home, my two boys made a fuss of me and my neighbours cat was miaowing hello through the window. Why is it that humans shy from public displays of affection to even their nearest and dearest, yet other living creatures- everything from c

thanks to everyone for the feedback, glad to see I haven't gone mad ;-) I'm finding these little extra changes from being raw so amazing! I didn't mention that when I was a little kid, I was extremely allergic to most metals in earrings etc. Over the years, I built up a fair immunity to it, and I wonder if now my body is feeling a million times more comfortable, if it's telling me, "sure,

Since going raw, I've found myself drawn towards being as comfortable as possible in other aspects of life: wearing looser clothes, trainers etc. But I've also started to hate wearing jewellery too. Not just invasive things like earrings, but also necklaces, bracelets and rings- even if they're not all that heavy! Sometimes it's so bad I start to feel a headache coming on because of the tensio

Are there any decent natural mosquito repellents? The ones labelled as 'natural' in the shops smell suspiciously like something that ISN'T natural!

I can remember being on holiday in Greece a few years ago and me and my boyfriend being awoken in the middle of the night by that high-pitched "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh" sound they make! We ended up wide awake in the early hours, armed with a glass and a bit of card trying to find them all and relocating them outside, hahaha :-D Rost, I'm still trying to find a natural anti-histami

I never ever deliberately kill a bug even if it's biting me. Besides, it's easy to brush/blow an insect off of you. To swat it, stamp on it etc is cowardly IMO. My cats bite me all the time. I'm not going to hurt them, why would I hurt a tiny, itty, bitty creature for doing the same thing? I often think it's the human ego and inability to share space that provokes us into killing little cr

I agree with Lee. As a temporary solution, psyllium husks are quite effective for sorting out diarrhea.

hahaha! I can only imagine one person I know going out their way to buy me raw chocolate from the health food store! Everyone else would just pretend they forgot and buy the same old stuff for convenience! I secretly wondered if people getting me non-raw holiday food was a (subconscious) way of them hanging onto a side of me I'm phasing out. Kind of like when we all first go vegan and there wi

Haha, I'd have loved a chocolate-free Easter but I was given a tonne of chocolate! All vegan (of course), but arghhhh, too much! 3 eggs, a bag of truffles and 4 massive bars of VERY dark chocolate. I'm kind of surprised I got any. Everyone who got me some knows that I'm raw! Next year I'll have to remember to have "NO CHOCOLATE! I'M RAW!" tatooed on my forehead, LOL!!!
