Diogenez's list comes from 30Bananas. I agree re most things on the list, as I am Natural Hygiene-oriented. Do I use any of the things on the list (er - yes, sometimes!) Diogenez, I'm not sure what the point was of posting this. It's true that the majority of people, even in the raw food world, are not Natural Hygienists. NH does take a radically different perspective. To invite discussi

There is no reason why eating raw food should stain your teeth. It's never stained mine. Think more about the other'remedies' you are using, eg 'I love neem.' eg Tamukha's post. There are so many things that people are persuaded to do to themselves that have apparently marvellous short-term effects, at long-term cost.

BJ writes: 'I don't know what Diogenez wrote, but why wouldn't you delete someone's account who is a self injecting junkie telling people of the wonders of injecting themselves regularly, and promoting it to others on a healthy living natural raw board like this - like DR continually does.' For the benefit of new members, BJ is referring to the fact that 'durianrider',aka Harley Johnstone,

Warning to UK members - What are the Americans call 'yams' are our 'sweet potatoes' (pink/red skin, orange/cream inside), and they're excellent raw. What WE call 'yams' (the dark grey Jamaican root veg) should not be eaten raw (ie don't eat them at all). They're toxic.

I'm sorry to disappoint some, but, if you compare the appearance of a raw fooder ten years ago (when he or she was raw), with their appearance ten years later (raw), yes, they will look older! Doug does, Brian does, and David does. I've been raw for five years now, and....shock horror - I do look older than I did five years ago! A few extra lines, a bit more sagging.. General wear and

In the UK they're £1.95 per kilo at local organic store. That equates to $1.43 per lb. Sometimes they sell what THEY call overripe bananas at the equivalent of a dollar a pound. So - quite good in the UK right now!

I found it amusing, and summed up what I feel about those two. I don't think there was 'negativity' as such. 'Spite'? Not really. It was just a lampoon of two people who have rather set themselves up for it. In the way a comedian would make fun of figures who have worked hard to thrust themselves into the limelight. (BTW, durianrider himself has also been made fun of on video, but he took

One of the many great things about a high-fruit diet is that Vitamin C increases absorption of any zinc ingested. You may find this article of mine (on zinc) of interest:

Hi everyone These 'scientific studies' that have found cinnamon has 'medicinal' qualities... All 'medicines' are toxic. They work by suppressing symptoms, introducing a new toxin, which diverts the body's energy away from the cleansing activities producing symptoms, and symptoms stop. Substances with anti-bacterial properties kill bacteria. They don't distinguish -oh, you're OK, you're

I didn't do anything to them. Just put the small bushes into the earth and they grew. The bushes are still covered with berries (quite cold here right now in the UK), but they're inedible. I'm wondering if the reason fresh goji berries aren't on sale is that they ARE unpleasant to eat!

As I've said on pborst's thread, these sorts of arguments are quite ridiculous, where we're looking at ONE man v another man. To draw any meaningful conclusions about a link between diet and appearance, a sample size of hundreds of people at minimum would be required. We all know of people in their sixties plus who look VERY good, who are following a standard, omnivorous diet. Shall we tak

PBorst, To take TWO people on different diets, compare their looks and then draw conclusions about their diets based on a sample size of ONE from each diet is obviously ridiculous. It's as daft as putting a photo' of me (I look good for my age) against someone who follows a Clement-style diet (who doesn't look good for their age) and say 'There, that proves it. The Clement-style diet is ag

Although dragon fruit look amazing, I find their flavour a little disappointing. Vaguely like kiwi fruit. I've never bought one upripe (I don't think), so the one you've bought is probably ripe.

Hi everyone After two years my goji berry bushes have at last bore fruit. However, the berries taste....awful! Bitter, like they're definitely not suitable for human consumption. They're soft and red, so seem ripe. Also, after trying them when they first appeared, I tried them again after a few weeks and they still tasted awful. Comments? I'd been led to understand that fresh goji be

Jonathan, nothing is 'better for us cooked', and if potatoes are toxic in their natural state, that's telling us that they aren't food for us. For reasons why I say these things, please see this article. It covers tomatoes and lycopene and 'the usuals'!

For those who have been 'convinced' by the marketing claims of the 'raw sea salt' people that that salt is good for us (however Himalayan or Celtic, etc etc), please see my articles here: (Part 1) (Part 2) I do look at those 'trace minerals' in some depth.

Actually, huge amt of water would go hand in hand with huge amount of exercise, as lots of sweating therefore need to replenish water. SO... Raw lifestyle no 1: High quantity of food = High physical activity needed to burn it off = High amount of water needed to replace water lost through high physical activity = high amount of rest/sleep needed to recuperate from eating high amount of f

1. Agree 2. We should all simply eat the amount we feel like eating. I've found after four years of raw I eat less than when I started. 3. Agree, if old habits are resumed after fasting. 4. I drink when thirsty. As a raw fooder of nearly four years, on a virtually 100% high fruit raw food diet, I am not dehydrated. 5. I need less sleep on a raw food diet than I used to on a cooked d

I think raw, sprouted grains are fine, Eddie, and would eat more were it not for the fact that it takes a while to sprout them, and it's so much easier to grab some fruit! I wrote an article on this two and a half years ago, which may be of interest:
