Bought these on eBay to replace the nozzles in an older out of production Omega juicer. Turns out they don't fit, so I have no use for them. I'm asking $6 including shipping.

Knapweed, that's a thistle, right? That stuff is really vigorous and it's gonna grow right back if you slash it down, even if you throw mulch on top of it. So, maybe we can flip your knapweed "problem" upside-down. Knapweed thrives in continually disturbed soils that never evolve past the first couple stages of succession. If the area is left undisturbed, the knapweed may eventually giv

1 pint-sized clamshell of cherry tomatoes 4 baby portabella mushrooms Handful of fresh basil juice of 1/2 meyer lemon Tonight I processed everything above in a food processor and tossed the resulting marinara with spiralized zucchini and broccoli florets. I served the whole thing over torn spinach leaves. Really satisfied my need for something gourmet without overt fats or spices!

Shaine, thanks for sharing your travels with us. I can't wait to get to Costa Rica, it's been a dream of mine for over 3 years now. Glad all was well with the jellyfish sting...how many people out there can say they hugged a jellyfish, eh? I've seen videos of people tearing open cocos in the tropics. That rrrrripping noise the husk makes sounds sooooooooo satisfying! Think it'd be possible to lea

Hey Angie, You don't have to wait 1-2 years to plant stuff! There is a concept in the world of Permaculture called "sheet mulching" that allows you to compost and plant crops in the same space. Basically, you first mow down weeds and grasses in the area you're working with and leave them there. Then you add build layers of organic material and add a weed barrier on top of it. The wee

We recently had an infestation of those moths. The most common species is called the Indian Meal Moth. I went and vaccumed out the cupboards and removed all of the grains that had larvae in them, and put bay leaves in the grain jars that I replaced, and several bay leaves on each shelf of the cupboard. Haven't seen a moth or larva since then...they don't like the scent of the bay leaf.

Unripe fruit can also do serious damage to tooth enamel. Read this story at Mango's website, but please don't let it scare you away from fruit all together...ripe fruit is our natural food!

I have a Needak and have used it for two years. It's a wonderful way to start your day, especially coupled with headphones and good music. Many times I've spent an entire hour on the thing, dancing around to music. I bring it out into the yard and put it under a tree. People driving by must think I'm nuts, haha. I don't usually get bored, especially if I concentrate on doing different moves and d

Citrus fruit generally begins ripening on the trees, at least in Florida, in early December. I know this because for the past two years I have ordered the most delicious and colorful oranges, satsuma tangerines and kumquats from Hickory Tree Grove in the winter. Highly recommended...growing up in Nebraska I had never eaten a truly tree-ripened orange before I tried their crop! You should start

Nothing more special about bananas than about any other fruit. I think they are popular because 1) They're available year-round pretty much anywhere in the world. 2) They're usually inexpensive, especially if purchased by the case. 3) Most everyone knows how to identify a banana!

smilebig - There's a company in Virginia Sweetwater Market that make nut and seed butters by soaking, then dehydrating, so yes, it can be done. Guess you'd just have to experiment to see what kind of consistency you'd get. I've had the best results using a coffee grinder and fresh unsoaked brazil nuts that I removed from the shell myself.

Good suggestions above...just like earthangel said, you might try incorporating as much raw into your life as is comfortable for you, and hang on to the potatoes until you don't want them anymore, or until it's not worth the aftereffects of eating them. Or, steaming them would be the most gentle way to cook them. Sometimes if I get cravings that I simply have to answer with cooked food, I have en

Here's what Shelton has to say about pineapples (this is from the Life Science Health System, thanks to Bob Farrell who originally posted it on another raw e-mail list): Quote Pineapples: Peak season for this fruit is March through June. Good pineapples may also be available at other times during the year. Unless pineapples are mature when picked, they will not ripen properly. They may

Sometimes, (If it's not in the middle of winter (and that is usually when I feel bluest)) I go into the forest and wander around, watch the river dance, watch the birds soar and swoop and sing. I hunker down and watch the bugs and the slugs. I talk to the cattails and they don't seem to mind. Mostly I just breathe. It doesn't always solve my woes and perk me right up, but I can't say I hav

April 7 1 pineapple 8 bananas 1 pound grapes Woke the sleeping giant yesterday and ate a bunch of cooked food. I've been indoors a lot in the last few days and not exercising, and I think I built up a lot of anstiness and unrest that made me vulnerable to somewhat of an emotional tipping point. I had some weeeiiirrd dreams; felt like my whole body was clenching as I groggily woke up this
