And i know this is kind of unrelated and im real sorry, but would you know how i can find out the nutritional analysis of the dry alfaffa seed including calories...that is before sprouted?! Thanks again for your support x

Yea, i suppose that's when tins of pineapple and grapefruit can be a halfway point. Something that came to me though is the good old butternut squash! That can keep for months ....and of course its raw, so perhaps thats the answer! Squash spaghetti and green powder soup?!

Suddenly had an thought....and thought you might id bring it to you guys....In the event that i couldnt get hold of raw produce for a few days (eg snowed in or housebound in any other way), how do i ensure i can sustain my raw diet? Im in the UK and am limited by how much i can spend on blenders/juicers. Im thinking of getting a high powered blender that can make raw vegetable soups and then if i ever want a veg juice i can just strain the pulp out of it. But will a 1200w motor be capable of blending raw carrots and squash etc? Thanks

Has anyone tried making juice from a blender and then straining through a nutbag? Can you drain the pulp dry? Also, ive just got a simple cheap hand blender. But i want to be blending raw produce obviously.....carrots greens etc. My blender just wont do it. What do i need to blend hard fruit and veg? Ideally id get a juicer but they're so expensive and living in the UK i wouldnt know where

Thanks so much for being so honest about your own experiences. I really am grateful. You're right.... the physical and emotional stressors are those factors that are perhaps not so easy to control and eliminate. Especially when often the emotional can aggravate the physical, and often it is the external environment that triggers this cycle. For me, ive just tried to listen to my body, and start t

Would you consider a whole red cabbage a day excessive? For months and months ive been loving the crunch of red cabbage, and its thick red crunchy leaves just mimic a vegetable matzo cracker like no other vegetable i can find...........but the thing is, i know that too much cruciferous veggies can result in thyroid problems. So my question to you is what other non-starchy veggie might have the sa

Hi, I started out eating raw whilst embarking on my journey to reconnecting my body and soul. For decades i neglected my body's nutritional needs - living by meaningless and destructive food rules that dominated my life....and by doing so i lost that intuition that is so fundamental to wellness. Only now, am i beginning to listen to my body and give it what it asks. But the subject of 'eatin

Could anyone help....im wanting to invest in a good raw recipe book but it needs to have lots and lots of inspirational photos of finished dishes....so i can just flick through the book and see what takes my fancy. Im not really interested in the content of the recipes, just the photo of the food - then i can improvise to suit what i feel like. Anyone know of any books? I dont want to go buyin

Hello, Ok, this is my situation....im vegan and am about 75% raw - Im on the search for a reliable , appetising recipe raw book which isnt based on avocado, oils, and coconut. I want photographs - though as long as one book has photos, that'll do for inspiration...the remainder can be just recipe based. I also need advice on julienne slicers? And definately dehydrators.....i have a one bed fl

I really need help...ive heard that phytates in many vegan foods cause the inhibition of calcium and many other mineral absorbtion. I am very concerned about this as i am very much in need of all the minerals i can get at the moment due to my body being quite low in them. Phytates are in many things...chickpeas, peas, and nuts etc. So how would raw foodists get around that? So many raw food recip

I need some advice my friends! I have read so much on phytates in raw grains and legumes etc. I am vegan and try to eat raw as much of the time as i can. But i am severely anaemic and need to absorb as much iron and calcium as i possibly can (because although still in twenties, i am at risk of osteoporosis). There is so much bad press on phytates ingibiting mineral absorption. I eat all th

Ive got a slow cooker, but not got a dehydrator. does the low temperature of the slow cooker allow food to be cooked without destroying the enzymes in the same way as a dehydrator would? in other words, can i save buying a dehydrator?!

Ok, so im thinking i'll start dehydrating instead of cooking but when i look at all the recipes they seem to all require so long in the dehydrator. So if you were to try to save on electricity (because surely 12 hours uses up a great deal of electricity) and make a whole batch of whatever at once then when you come to eat them they will be cold wont they?! Is that what happens - do you all eat yo
